Blakstone Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 So we know yet if the writing on the windows are printing or stickers? Quote
badbob001 Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 So we know yet if the writing on the windows are printing or stickers? Surely someone that attended the recent VIP event must have had a very close look at the set. Quote
lomis Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 So we know yet if the writing on the windows are printing or stickers? Individuals who have seen the set in-person have said that the windows are printed elements. I think you can also tell this when looking at the box image with the parts list on the top. Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 I've just found the remains of my GG and I noticed that the pavement out front of the barbers and pool hall is set back further than the GG. Quote
ItsaBRICKS Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 I've just found the remains of my GG and I noticed that the pavement out front of the barbers and pool hall is set back further than the GG. Doesn't look further back from the pictures. Aren't they all 8 studs back? Quote
salsa Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 I like the raised lamp version better, as the design of the lamp-post is more visible... so with my latest Bricklink order i ordered some extra 2x2 dark bluish grey plates...in fact 25...;-) Speaking of lamp posts, does anyone think they would look better in black instead of white? Quote
Poisso3 Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Seeing the tan baseplate for this set I am wondering how it will look next to other sets that had green plates. I can almost picture placing some green elements to simulate some hedging and grass leading into the muddy back alley. Quote
jonwil Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Its great that this set has (for the first time ever) a brown baseplate. Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Doesn't look further back from the pictures. Aren't they all 8 studs back? You're right it just seems that way, the difference between technic brick positions are the same......discovered that today while changing what's of my GG into a MOC. Quote
Boettner Builds Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 They would look WAY better in black or even dark gray!!!! Quote
Jern92 Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Current plans for the DO: 1. Get rid of the kitchen and make it a tiny rooftop studio apartment, where the Dino Tracker from CMF 12 lives. Only in this case, she's the city's vigilante, with an endless array of murder weapons at her disposal. 2. The barrel, instead of being filled with cookies, will be filled instead with the bodies of her victims, and treated Breaking-Bad style via the toiletbowl in the first floor. 3. The detective will be replaced with the Sheriff from CMF 13, who is investigating the string of murders in the city, and has a tendency to carry out investigations in disguise (here the Piggy Guy from CMF 12 will come in useful, as well Unicorn Girl and Hot Dog Guy from CMF 13). 4. The barber is a secret supporter of Ms Vigilante, and assists in getting rid of bodies, as well as informing her of new criminals through newspapers and gossip. 5. The mysterious lady in red is a double agent; she admires the vigilante because her loved ones were killed by criminals years ago, and the Detective is in love with her, so she's using that to distract him from finding the Vigilante. That's as far as i got. Haven't thought of anything else at the moment. But a building that looks childish with childish play features as some people see it could also be converted into something more... macabre. Quote
jaudeau Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 It felt like to buy the most. Barber is amazing build. Quote
Tobysan Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 This set is awesome. So much detail, the secret compartments are gonna be fun, the kitty tail roof is cool and gotta love the Pool table and the ceiling fan. I gotta have this.....like now!!! Quote
Withacee Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Right. I most probably try to find a fire brigade so that the DO isnt going to stand alone. Or I moc something up. We'll see. Or DON'T find a Fire brigade, so you can burn down a few old buildings to create space for DO Quote
greatold1s Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 I'm gonna get this one for sure!! newspaper box & reflective mirror are so cool.. Quote
ronenson Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Or DON'T find a Fire brigade, so you can burn down a few old buildings to create space for DO I could let that happen, but I dont have a few old buildings. I bought all my modulars within the last year, and I have 6 now. I want to enjoy those for a bit longer. Time to reassemble the city fire trucks my son has. Quote
Ardelon Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 I'm curious how the darts can be "stabbed" inside it. And what the dart arrows are. They cant and they should be this piece: http://brickset.com/parts/4223982 Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 They cant and they should be this piece: http://brickset.com/parts/4223982 Yep, there is two in 1x1 vertical clip bricks by the back door......pool table near a dart board might get a little dangerous ? Quote
TheLegoDr Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Speaking of lamp posts, does anyone think they would look better in black instead of white? I converted all of mine to black a long time ago. I also made all of them one plate higher (like LEGO finally decided to do in PR and DO), but I did it to all of them years ago. It made more sense to me. Plus, LEGO can add one extra piece to the piece count to make it look even bigger . The brown baseplate is neat, but I don't know how necessary it was. Granted, they did a new one for PR also and PC...hmm, although I can see good use for multiple light bley/ or red-brown, but not red. Quote
Dennan Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Visiting Lego store Disneyland Paris and the showed the DO. Here are some pictures: http://postimg.org/image/5z1mmmpnl/ http://postimg.org/image/odc5qm1y9/ And some more. Rather small next to the Slave I http://postimg.org/image/9954suvmx/ http://postimg.org/image/z1zxs3nhl/ The windows look printed.. Yeah!! Quote
ronenson Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Looks like they forgot some of the tiles on the newspaper stand Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Looks like they forgot some of the tiles on the newspaper stand Ah, they've been stolen......get Ace on to it as well ! The more I see photos of it......the more I want to get this set. Quote
PastVPresent Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Just noticed this MOC from 2012: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=72469 Incredible how similar the new Lego DO is to it! Quote
