Would I be allowed to use "models" from other sets? For exa.mple a vehicle from another set.

No, we want the entire entry to be your own creation.

Are we allowed to include a wintery build inspired by a Christmas version of an official licensed LEGO character?

I can't see why not.

No, we want the entire entry to be your own creation.

That's annoying for me: my creation uses the sleigh from the latest winter village set, as well as a city vehicle.

I was going to post my pics now, but then I'll have to replace the vehicles and re-make pictures :/

edit: so I started rebuilding my own vehicles... it is probably better that way anyway

I'm glad you had a cathartic journey entering this contest.

The rules have been updated with the following rule:

Photos of your creation can be manipulated with Photoshop for levels, proportions and color correction but may not include graphic enhancements.

Thank you.

-Entries are to consist of no more than 5 posted pictures of 1024x768 pixels or smaller resolution but may also include a link to a folder of additional images of any size.

-Photos of your creation can be manipulated with Photoshop for levels, proportions and color correction but may not include graphic enhancements.

You can not try to circumvent the first rule by breaking the second one. Please remove any collages from your pictures! Thank you.

Need moderator advice. In a rush to post, and being my first time, I posted more photos than indicated in the rules. I am more than happy to remove photos but am concerned about editing my entry past the contest deadline. Please advise.

It can be edited out.

The contest is officially over (for the past 20 hours or so ) The voting thread will be up in the next couple of days. Thanks to everyone for participating!

Hi Hinckley...I have a similar issue with a picture post. I didnt put up a shot of my main interior. Can I swap out one of the posted pics for it or just rely on the brickshelf link.

That's great to hear. It's taking me a couple days to get the voting thread together. Entries can be altered up until the voting thread is posted, if and only if you were asked to remove a collage or a number of pictures or video. Content of the pictures cannot be altered at this point. The structure entered is final at this point. Thanks everybody for your patience.

There are 5 that stand out for me, but I have reduced them to 3 that I think should be produced as Winter Village sets, or maybe as instructions for us to follow and recreate.

My votes go to

8. stebai - This is more of an upmarket Village/Town or ski resort type building.

16. Leopold - This suits the Winter Village and goes back to the basics of what a village should have.

18. ShaydDeGrai - This suits the theme of Winter Holiday and Village.

There are some interesting building techniques used in all three.

...... and an honourable mention goes to the Dance Hall and Sweet shop.

Which are both very good builds and would both fit into a Winter Town but possibly not a Winter Village.

The other entries are good in different ways, with many being extensions to what has already been produced, or fitting into a more Fantasy setting than the Winter Vllage theme.

The modern sets are good MOC's but do not really fit with my idea of a Winter Village.

This is not the voting thread and the votes are not formatted correctly. Please refer to the voting thread, pinned above this one.
