July 7, 200717 yr it's hard to make one with good articulation and yet not "bionicle" like from system bricks. so i wont necessary penalize lego for making the viking dragons. of all the dragons available, i would say viking dragon is the best. the classic dragon is one big piece and hardly dragon size. the new dragon while is more like a dragon is made of yet more big pieces. and i'm all for new horses! yay hinckley!
September 14, 200717 yr Viking Dragons for me, too. They're the only reason I bought those sets... And I love the armored one from the later set as well *wub* .
September 15, 200717 yr This is my favourite dragon Lego ever made (thanks to Bricklink for the pic): Shakar yea this is my fave too but besides him classic dragons all the way!!! *sweet*
September 15, 200717 yr I do agree that the Viking Theme dragons are pretty cool. - Perhaps they even are the most "LEGO-like" dragons made in a long time. But...but....but....Thinking about the fact that LEGO is made for fun and play makes the Viking dragons hit rock buttom. They're somewhat swooshable in the hands of an AFOL, but not in the hands of a kid. - That leaves us with the new Castle theme dragons and the ones in this poll named Classic Dragons. I actually think that both are pretty cool. I love the design and colours of the new dragons, but ultimately I had to go with the Classic version. It's....simple and has that LEGO look and feel to it. CLASSIC ALL THE WAY. *wub* VIKINGS KISS MY .... :-P KimT
September 15, 200717 yr No idea why this topic was revived but we needed something to talk about I guess so heres my thoughts: Viking Dragon: Most lego-like. Very articulate. Easy to MOC. But a little too breakable. Classic Dragon: Still easily recognisable as lego. Good for fun play and for kids. Too <insert that tiresome argument>. New Castle Dagon: Very Articulate. Good For Kids. Rather ugly. Too <insert that tiresome argument>. Overall the Vikings Dragons completely wipeout any competition. The new dragons are too ugly, atleast the Dino Attack ones had eyesockets and such, everything is just painted on these :-X Classic Dragon is great, and nice and small, but lacks the brickbuilt genius of the Viking Dragons. Wyvern, Niddrog, Fafnir and Ofnir dragons ON! >:-) Batbrick Away! >:-)
September 16, 200717 yr Author That reminds me of Age of Mythology. Good ol' Nidhogg. How about a dragon like the Vikings one, with the head of the new Castle ones, and arms and legs kind of like the Exo-force mechs. That way they'd be posable, and more Lego like. Bwahahaa. iamded, stalking Batbrick! :-P

Unless they were more detailed........ 8-| Batbrick, stalking iamded, who is stalking me, who is Batbrick, who is stalking iamded! *skull* Brahahahaha! Batbrick Away! >:-)
September 16, 200717 yr Author The only reason I say the new Castle dragon's head is because it has those clicky jointy things, that have more direction than just up and down. And they aren't Bionicle pieces either. iamded, stalking Batbrick stalking iamded stalking Batbrick stalking iamded. 8-| *wacko* X-D
September 24, 200717 yr I haven't seen one of the new "Dino dragons" up close yet, but based on posability and MOC-ability I prefer the Viking style dragons. As for the Bionicle parts, for the most part they can easily be replaced by non-Bionicle parts. I also really like the wings of the Creator dragon, someday I would like to combine that design with a Viking style dragon.
October 4, 200717 yr What about my Avatar Dragon??? He's in the lake o/s Lego Store at Disneyworld Florida.
October 4, 200717 yr What about my Avatar Dragon??? He's in the lake o/s Lego Store at Disneyworld Florida. _______ I think the poll only includes product released dragons :-P Though that is one cool dragon! 8-
October 8, 200717 yr Definitely vote for the Viking Dragon, this one is the best! :-) I really like how it can be displayed in so many different ways. *sweet* *y*
October 8, 200717 yr Author I used to really dislike the new dragon, preferring the Viking one due to articulation, but the new one's grown on me, the head is nice, I love the eyes, and at first I didn't quite get why the wings were coloured like that. I figured the red dragon should have the spines of the wing red and the membrane black, as red is it's main colour and black is the secondary colour (inverse for the black dragon). Then I realised the red dragon's spine and spikes were black, and that's where the wings connect, so it makes sense that the spines on the wings were black, with the membrane being red. Then I realised I had been complaining about nothing, and the wing's colours merge together instead of being seperated with the spines/membrane. I's like to see clean, properly coloured two toned wings in future, instead of it just being mixed. Anyway, that's my long pointless rant. In short, I now prefer the new Castle dragon as opposed to the Viking one, whether due to my wanting completion and purity in my Castle collection, or just because it's grown on me. ~Peace Edited October 9, 200717 yr by iamded
October 8, 200717 yr The viking Dragon rulezz them al............., well for me it does :-D I like the moving parts. besides that its a dragon which is actually build with more dan 3 stones ;-) Besides the creator dragen ofcourse :-)
October 8, 200717 yr I had to go with the classic dragon. It fits better with the horses, crocodiles, monkeys, and Buckbeaks. watching Batbrick stalk iamded, who is stalking Batbrick...
October 9, 200717 yr Although the old ones have huge nostalgia, I have to go with the new dragons. They are just seriously fun to look at; a dash of cool, a touch of hardcore... just good times. However, you didn't give the option of the best of best: the oriental dragon! (oh and btw, I'm new here :-D )
October 9, 200717 yr Author Welcome to Eurobricks! I mentioned a while back that the Oriental dragon is part of classic dragon, as it has the same body. ~Peace

It fits better with the horses, crocodiles, monkeys, and Buckbeaks. watching Batbrick stalk iamded, who is stalking Batbrick... ____________ Creepy! X-O A third entrant into this game, time to raise the stakes! *skull* You make a good point about the "fitting in" too Buckshot, but I still say Vikings, as it fit the THEME! X-O Welcome to Eurobricks!I mentioned a while back that the Oriental dragon is part of classic dragon, as it has the same body. ~Peace __________ It is a classic dragon but easily the best one! ;-) When I get a job I shall buy the Orient Expedition sets! *wub* Batbrick, stalking iamded, who is stalking Batbrick, who is being watched by Buckshot! *skull* TTFN! >:-)
October 9, 200717 yr Welcome to Eurobricks Nyundi, have a nice stay! I noticed that several people changed their minds about which dragon they like best once they actually got the new Castle dragon, so there must be something to them. I'm quite curious about them and would love the chance to actually see one up close. Perhaps I would change my mind about them as well, LOL! The old style dragons never appealed to me much though, too small and a great lack of articulation. By the way Batbrick, what does 'TTFN!' stand for?
October 9, 200717 yr Author If I had a camera, I would gladly post pics for you, but unfortunately I am lacking in that department. Oh, and TTFN stands for "Ta-ta for now". ~Peace

The old style dragons never appealed to me much though, too small and a great lack of articulation. This is exactly how I felt... from various pics I thought it was just too "kiddie"; when I started actually playing around with one my opinion changed. Due to their large size, you can do an awful lot of dramatic looking scenes (crawling up the backside of a tower, lurking behind a huge rocky outcropping, etc.).
November 3, 200717 yr I had to vote for the vikings drago, they are the most posable, and are the only ones with any real MOCing potential.
November 3, 200717 yr The Creator Dragon and the Harry Potter dragon are the coolest, in my eyes. They're just fantastic, but I have to buy them soon! :-$
