ISDAvenger Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 (edited) When the Ewok Village was first release, I knew I wanted to purchase another set and combine it into one big village. I wanted to make sure that I built the tree trunks tall enough for the AT-ST Walkers to walk underneath it. Pretty much used the instructions when I built the trees, just doubled them up to make them taller. The tree trunks have the same features as the originals, secret door way, the web, which I installed two, one above the other. I attached the swinging logs using Lego rope instead of the technic poles to add a bit more realism. The platform is bigger, I did have to use other tan plates from other sets to achieve the desired size. I could not reply on just the plates that came with the original sets. The tree houses are larger and taller as well. Overall I think it came out quite well and I am happy with the results. Please see the below pictures. Edited November 23, 2014 by ISDAvenger Quote
Fuppylodders Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 You know what... This is a really good improvement! I think the height is just right and makes it appear more 'real' to what it is supposed to be portraying! Great job! Quote
Chills Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Nice work, dude. I really like how you MODed the sets, the village is much more "grand." I like the logs that are on ropes. And very cool seeing the storm trooper tied up. LOL Quote
Something_Awesome Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I like it! I feel like something is missing on the big platform though. Railings? Or maybe some other little detail? Quote
Robianco Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 The fact that the AT-ST now walks underneath it comfortably gives it a much better scale and the added height of the treehouses balances well with the extra height of the trees themselves. I'd probably have to agree with the above comment though... with all that extra build the platform does look a little bare... not much... but something to bring it inline with the rest of the build. That scaling really lends itself to the celebration party at the end of ROTJ with rebel pilots aplenty on the platform... Quote
TWP Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Nice work! If I had the money, I would do this to my (soon to be bought ) Ewok Village too! It's definetely an improvement, They feel more like tall trees instead of that low treehouse in the set. Quote
MKJoshA Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Thanks for using small pictures to save on space, but please feel free to use bigger ones to so that we can see the details here instead of having to click on the pictures! If you'd like, I can relink them to be bigger sizes. Quote
TheBear Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Great job, I like what you've done there. Ever since I got my ewok village I have wanted to increase the height of the trees in a similar way although I can't afford another complete set! The only thing I would do differently would be to make the trunks a bit less bumpy, as if you look at redwoods they are quite smooth. Quote
