Dohed44 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 (edited) My build for the contest uses sets #8068 and #42020, which have 408 and 145 pieces respectively, for a total of 553 pieces. I used 490 on the ship and 14 on the stand. Leaving 34 and 29 pieces unused. The Leftovers by CleverNiftyDude, on Flickr Major pin and axle shortage with these two sets. VTOL Heli-plane by CleverNiftyDude, on Flickr The stand,...barely stands, but I was able to get some cool banking shots,... as it slowly fell over. VTOL with Pilot by CleverNiftyDude, on Flickr Just happen to have a matching Technic Fig for scale,..Nice! Unfortunately my entry post will be pilot-less, as he is not part of either set. VTOL Cockpit by CleverNiftyDude, on Flickr A close-up of the pit, with assorted NF controls and interface. VTOL Top view by CleverNiftyDude, on Flickr Functions incude: Manual 90 deg. swivel of wings/props/landing wheels Manual tail fin rotation HOG prop spin. HOG Ratcheted rescue basket I think I'm going to try to get a few more photos before I enter it. Cheers. Edited November 30, 2014 by Dohed44 Quote
Jim Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I absolutely love it This could be an official set Quote
zweihander Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Wow, amazing model, I love it! I like how the stickers suit the model too. Just out of curiousity, are those missiles on the sides? Quote
Tomik Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 (edited) Awesome model! I like its shape and color scheme - combination of white, red and blue is cool. Would you describe its functions? Edited November 24, 2014 by Tomik Quote
piterx Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Wow thats great man! Best entry ive seen! Quote
Zerobricks Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Personal VTOL aircraft? F*** YEAH! You guys are really making some awesome models! Quote
Milan Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Oh Yeah, best so far! Not too official to me, since it has lots of beams stacked one to another, but I love it even more because of that, as it make the model more filled! Awesome! Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Fantastic, I wish I had the 8068. Colorscheme is wonderfull and everything fits really well! You sure are a very very strong contestant... Quote
Dohed44 Posted November 24, 2014 Author Posted November 24, 2014 Many thanks for all the kind words. I'm going to try to get a couple more photos of the back, with the rescue basket hanging down, then I'll update the post and list the functions and such. Cheers Quote
ms09 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 A very adorable MOC. I will definitely support it. Quote

Dohed44 Posted November 25, 2014 Author Posted November 25, 2014 Wow, amazing model, I love it! I like how the stickers suit the model too. Just out of curiousity, are those missiles on the sides? At the moment those are meant to be guns of one kind or another. I thought it would be handy to have some back up when going in alone, into a dangerous rescue situation, and little firepower on hand couldn't hurt.Having made this from two other rescue heli's, the stickers and the color scheme kind of set the tone for the build. I don't usually use stickers, but in this case I think they complement. Cheers Quote

Nice thinking, you never know when you might need a rocket or two Quote
kennywest Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Seems your images are not rendering properly in the Entry Topic. Just so you know. Would be a shame if this model wasn't shown properly in the Entry Topic. Quote
