weavil Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 (edited) Note: This only includes WIP pictures as the final pictures got deleted. After months of silence, I have finally finished. The Soul Sucker Weekend Racer. Version 1.0 An overly ambitious project using most of my parts, time and mental stability. It has PF M motor x3 (2x for drive, 1x for steering), receiver x1. The idea of this was to have a removable body, engine, transmission, seats, and rear end. I realized during the build that i was in over my head, but kept going, and got burned out half way, dragging out to the finish. VKTechnic Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Looks very nice Love the removable body, I still have to make a car with that feature. Quote
Jeroen Ottens Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Respect for the perserverance. I know how these projects can wear you out and the temptation is always there to stop and start on this newer, greater, better idea. I really like the modular approach, it is well executed. The bodywork is a bit too boxy for my taste though, I'm not a big fan of stacked beams to close the body. But I suspect that this is also driven by your parts availability? Quote
darksheep Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Good job and well done for finishing it , does the gearbox work in the center ? Quote

I never seen anything with a removable body or next to zero holes on the body. So I decided to do both, and send my self off the deep end! Respect for the perserverance. Yes parts played a big part building. I had a crap load of black beams and no black 3x11! However with the beams it was easier to make it sturdy (so to speak). I had to, alot of time though, build, take apart, and rebuild different "steps" either because I had to retrieve a piece or two, or it didn't work with the other "steps". Then recently I got the 42029 and rebuilt the outside of the body. Good job and well done for finishing it , does the gearbox work in the center ? Yes it works, but until the support for the 8t gear starts to come loose. Quote
Mikuri Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Ain't 2 M-motors a bit underpowered for this huge vehicule? The modular build is very nice and makes a good base for any bodyworks :P Else I would like to see it in action :) Quote
Rishab N Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 It looks nice. I like the removal body and front of it; however, I agree with Mikuri-two M motors seem a little underpowered Quote
Zerobricks Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I really like the removable chassis! This way you can build a different body on top. I agree this baby needs MORE POWUH! Quote

Also, I'd angle the front windshield, change the headlights, and replace the 6X AA battery pack with 2 8878s, to save weight. Edited December 3, 2014 by TheLegoExpert Quote
weavil Posted December 3, 2014 Author Posted December 3, 2014 That's why it's version 1. 2 L motors should fit with no chages. You would have to make some chages to fit 2 small batt-packs, or thake out the rear seats. Windshield and the front end, I was running out of red, and seen the angle was off, but got lazy, sorry.
