Posted November 29, 201410 yr Can straight rail from current train sets be purchased from Pick A Brick? I searched for element id #6070018 but nothing turned up and Bricklink only seems to have 9V rail. I dislike the flex track stuff or the metal rails. Thanks for any help.
November 29, 201410 yr LEGO does not sell the straight track separately anymore. They do however sell them with flex track though: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Flexible-and-Straight-Tracks-7499 Bricklink also has straight track that is sold by each piece: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?colorID=85&itemID=64722 Hope that helps! -RailCo
November 29, 201410 yr You have to buy 7499 with those *useless* flex track. In Europe, Amazon have great price for track as low as 13.xx € vs 17.99 € from S@H.

I'm not sure why I was only getting the 9V stuff when I searched. You have restored my faith in Bricklink...and squashed my faith in my own search skills. LOL!
December 1, 201410 yr Author Join a LUG and you can get them _much_cheaper than the going BL price Thanks for the idea. I've been thinking about joining my local group near Washington DC....
December 1, 201410 yr Depends where in the world you live, there's no LUGs in my entire county that I can find (although there is one in the next county along).
December 1, 201410 yr Thanks for the idea. I've been thinking about joining my local group near Washington DC.... It's a lot of fun to be in a LUG and doing public displays.
December 3, 201410 yr ME Models will begin selling their products soon. They've got the best tracks on the market right now, in my opinion. If you've ever wanted to be able to buy individual straight rails at a good price, and curves that are wider than LEGO's standard, I think you would really like what they have to offer.
December 4, 201410 yr Author Was just on the ME Models site prior to catching up here--a wider radius curve would be terrific.
December 4, 201410 yr R56, R72, R88 and R104 will be out shortly as Aaron posted above. In blue gray 2x8 plates and connectors as well as in dark brown. The rails will be blue gray as well. You can see some of the test examples on the ME Models FB page.
December 4, 201410 yr Thanks for the idea. I've been thinking about joining my local group near Washington DC.... Near DC you have WamaLUG and WamaLTC with the LUG being for builders of all types and LTC being the Lego Train Club. I know a handful of the members of each and they are fun to hang around at events. If you are joining a lug just for the LUGBulk option on track and other parts please remember that each club may have specific rules around this Lego opportunity that exceed the limits that are setup by Lego. Please be sure to contact your LUG to verify your eligibility to participate in the program being offered by Lego. Also note that not all LUGs participate in the LUG Bulk program which is the case with the LUGs in the Delaware Valley.
