Ltfalcon Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 169D This is the Brig Avenger that was tweaked for my son. We needed a ship to help protect the our blue coat port as we ready for the 2015 blue coat port sets. From the crows nest, "Admiral!! a pritate ship on the horizon". (Updated battle pictures at end of thread) Vengeance approaches and she readies for battle. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 A nice build! Good to see the two ships engaging. I noted that the crew has white hats. The bicornes usually come in black. Did you paint them or find them in white somewhere? Quote

As always good eye! :) Quote
dr_spock Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Nice build. Those pirates seem a little slow in opening their gun ports. Quote

Ayrlego Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Nice build. I like the way you've used slopes and curves for the stern - it makes for an impressive looking ship. Quote

Mazin Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Do more close-ups It seems that bluecoat's ships has a much bigger cabin, while pirate galleon got itself more guns istead. So it looks that Cpt Roger prefers armanents to personal comforts, while blue admiral follows the other way. For a minute I thought that those buildings behind Your ships are actually Legos too And I see that there's a meme in elvish, hobbitish, whatever, something tolkienish Quote

Captain "Dead Eye Dave" does like the guns though. The twelve 24 pounders are a force to be reckoned with. Admiral "Pruiett" does like his creature comforts typical for a highborn. I've added additional closeup pictures per your request, The battle continues as the Pirate boarding parties have there boarding pikes in hand! Yes the meme was done by my daughter "A happy family is an early heaven" Thanks again, David Edited December 26, 2014 by Ltfalcon Quote
Mazin Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Yeay, it's good to have one talented daughter That looks very nice Anyway, seems that someone is preparing to board those blues. So are these more like pikes or did want to do some kind of grappling hooks ( or "grapnels" are they called? )? I'd add some musket stations, to repel the attack. And correct me if i'm wrong but You've apparently replaced some of the pirate crew. Roger is gone somewhere ( or maybe he's doing some strategy in his cabin ) and Your helmsman lost his hat somewhere ( or maybe it's just his tradition to take if off before battle ) Oh, and some should tell Admiral Pruiett that his watchman on the top is blind, he's obviously looking for a pirate ship in a completely wrong direction And of course, it's always great to see a steward with a broom that continues to perform his duties whatever circumstances Quote

Captain Edward Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Nicely done, very smoothly! Now, I think it's time to move on for you from official Lego-techniques to your own, like cannonholes, sails, and masts of course. Try making your future ships look more realistic like by making sails of different sizes according to the size of the ship and mast. Regards, Edward Quote
