Zerobricks Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Nice powerfull little drifter. Did I see correctly, you used no differential but a direct drive to the rear wheels? Quote
sm 01 Posted November 30, 2014 Author Posted November 30, 2014 Nice powerfull little drifter. Did I see correctly, you used no differential but a direct drive to the rear wheels? Thanks! You're right, there is no dif. just direct drive to rear wheels - simplest possible solution. I love it. Great work . Thank you very much! Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Wow, you really got style!!! I love it, it looks so perfect, almost non technic. Great solution for the front suspension, great performance and those chrome parts really add up to looks! I love the red string detail inside the door! Hats off to you! Best regards, miha Quote
deraven Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Model Team + Technic + RC & PF + chrome… great! The decals and string details are nice, too. Quote
BigCatBoy Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Beautiful! Love the stance, and the details are nice! Quote
Tommy Styrvoky Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Nice build of a model T, there's so many different bodies and modifications you could do to this chassis. Quote
darksheep Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Wow absolutely beautiful ,love the the look and styling + performance to match really good job dude . Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 it is nice, anyway, as everybody said here, but the best thing about it, from my point of view is the use of 5292 motor as axle-cap (that thing on the axle under which is hidden diff in real-life axles ; I do not know how to call it right) ;) Quote
sm 01 Posted December 1, 2014 Author Posted December 1, 2014 Thank you guys for such a positive comments - I just got back home from work and to see all your responses... You've made my day! You've mentioned some things you liked and here are some aditional information about them: I'm really glad you liked "red string detail" - I wanted to put something red inside the doors to match red dashboard and red seats - string was the simplest solution and it looks like red stitching on black doors. Front suspension solution - shock absorbers looked too big for this model so, after few attempts, I came up with this solution - I like it because it is simple, lightweight and works reasonably well, especially because front part of the car is set very low. Miha, thanks mate! Chrome parts are mostly from bricklink (exceptions are the door handles and the tops of air intakes, those were chromed by me - I didn't find them on BL). Decals are home made, also by me , and inspiration were some real life hot rods. "Model Team + Technic + RC & PF + chrome" - Cool comment deraven! You're right, I wanted more realistic apperance and that's way I went outside technic box. Downside was increased weight / worsen performance, but luckily RC buggy motor has saved the day "modification ot the chassis" - Tommy, I don't know have you seen my first creation with RC buggy motor (off-road racer) but this uses almost the same chassis - you couldn't be more right, mate! Gzzig, I don't know how it is called but I know what you mean. Rear end of RC buggy motor really looks like a diff casing - it would be perfect if it were chromed. Quote
sm 01 Posted December 2, 2014 Author Posted December 2, 2014 Few photos without cabin: Position of IR receiver and other electronic components: Quote
sm 01 Posted December 19, 2014 Author Posted December 19, 2014 I've turned it into a roadster: It still has all the functions, but it has lower weight and better performance. Here is the video of driving outside: More photos: https://www.flickr.c...57649812508035/ Hope you'll like it... Quote
