Posted December 7, 201410 yr Hello I am new to technic/Lego. Currently I only have few new technic sets which only have the studless beams. I have seen many people here building mechanic parts with studless and building the body with bricks/plates which looks much better. Is there any sets I can buy to get these bricks/plates (creator/star wars?). I like the 10242 MIni cooper, But the color is not useful with technic :(
December 7, 201410 yr Hi, Dont buy sets to get specific parts. It will be very expensive, and you will got lots of parts you dont need (for your goal). Use Bricklink and buy the parts you need, in color and quantities you want.

I build trucks and heavy machinery, and I have started with Racers and Creator sets like these ones: And red parts ended here: Almost all my models needed BL orders, but having parts from Racers/Creator sets makes building them easier.

I started like this myself, I got two Creator sets (4404) and yellow submarine, and I started from there. But since then, I have never purchased a set...10+ years. All the parts I got as a bulk from Bricklink. That way, I can fine tune what I get, and never end up with parts that I never use (I still have parts that I never use from sets)
December 7, 201410 yr Author I am planning to use bricklink I have got around 4000 pcs of technic now. I think that's enough for now. Now I think it's better to only buy parts I need like wheels, bricks, plates etc.. Do you guys know the part numbers of most used bricks/plates
December 7, 201410 yr Just go to Bricklink and search. Look for bigger stores close to your location. Its all about finding best deal...
