Hi All,

i made a quick mod for the race truck in LDD (based on original model by Tore M), formed for my taste. I know, the rims dont exist in black, but but...

Maybe worth to share, if somebody builds it, any picture is welcome here.

The model is 99% ready. Enjoy!

Yeah...it fills in all the gaps in 8041 nicely. The original model is FULL of huge holes and gaps!

It deffo needs a few more panels to complete the model.

Bricklink says the wheel DOES exist in black ... in the Ninjago skull truck 2506-1 ... or is that a mistake in BrickLink's inventory ?

No mistake, it is the wheel used in the 8041/42041 as it comes from TLG, but if you look at the pictures in the OP, you'll quickly see he used the ones from 42009, in black

I always wondered what it would look like with those wheels on it. Why is Lego re-releasing this set anyway?.

it fills in all the gaps in 8041 nicely. The original model is FULL of huge holes and gaps!32.gif

Can somebody share this again, please?

Thank You in advance!

Sorry for buming this topic, I have rebuilt the LDD file, contains the white and red versions both, saved in my Bricksafe folder.

Maybe some find it still interesting. Download here.

Edit: the wheels are not available in black, it is just my imagination. :classic:

Nice mods on this on this old truckracer.

Hi All, i belive i will end up build the white black version, with RC functuions. Would be great fun... a drifting truck.

I build also this drifting mod truck in 2012 of this old set and it drift and spins like crazy, because the most weight is of the front wheels.

Here my mod build in 2012.

Great mod, and with only an XL motor... well done! I am surprised, despite of the friction the double wheels on the back.

How the differential effects the drifting? Can both sides spin freely?

I gear the XL motor so up that it have a great speed, but not many torque and on laminate floors works great and in the photo's you see a diff, but removed it for better drifting.

Unfortunately i did't make a video of it. :sceptic:
