Fellow Builders,

May I present my first effort at a modular building. This House was inspired by this designer http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=6083556 I tried reaching this person, but didn't get a response.

So I set out trying to recreate this really attractive house for my "subdivision" part of my Lego city layout. Here are the results.............C & C Welcome

I think that looks great! I know exactly that style of house, and I think you've captured it very nicely at that scale!

C&C: I don't know about the brick-built door to the bathroom. I'm guessing you just didn't want to have windows in the door to the bathroom which makes sense, but if there's room there I'd switch it for a solid black Freestyle door in a regular tan frame.

The piano is nicely built and would probably look better downstairs, but there's only so much you can do before the building suddenly gets much bigger. :classic:

Can't wait to see more of your subdivision!

Thanks guys,

@ lightningtiger Yes, I know it wasn't quite right, but current supplies made me do it!

@ daraven That's a great idea.............could you link the part please? I know about the piano, only so much room, besides if I could live there and I'd really have it in my bedroom!

Well, I was thinking this door and this frame, but only just realized that the "Freestyle" doors are 4x5 so won't fit in the standard 1x4x6 frame. You could still use that solid black door with a 2x4x5 frame, but the 2 stud depth would make it hard there, and those frames only come in white, red, yellow, and I think pink from Paradisa. :sceptic:

But! You could still use that tan door frame and this door in light-bley. That'd probably look OK with the trim darker grey trim color you've got in there.

And hey, if you want a piano in your bedroom, who I am to judge what you do behind closed doors?

Lovely! My favourite parts are the garden beds, the piano and the bed. The vents at the bottom of the house on the outside also show great attention to detail. I'm looking forward to seeing your future MOCs!

Thanks Guys & Gals

I really appreciate the comments and constructive feedback, watching all the great builders and their MOCs here on EB forums, just helps me advance my building skills, by observing all the great creations. I'm not there yet, but detail for me is what this creation needed to keep up with the other designers here. ( besides I really enjoyed building this )

@ AFOLguy1970 Thanks for the compliment, Palms design is by a EB member............ Mike S,

I plan for all my houses to have Palms, as I used to live in the Tropical climates.

@ Kristel Thanks for the compliment, detail is what can make these types of builds really special, as your MOCs' display this quality very well.

( I might borrow some of your ideas in the next build I do ) I might move the piano downstairs next to the loo door and use one of your chair creations upstairs.

@ Captain Braunsfeld Thanks so much, I've got a lot of building experience in Model Team and Technic, but this is my first adventure in Modular building, I love it and can't stop

smashing bricks together!

@ deraven Thanks for the links on the doors and frames. White door is on its' way and I had a Dk-bley door frame in my supplies, installed!

Very nice. Although hiding the toilet behind a secret door is gonna get messy if you ever have company. Also Piano in Bedroom = very very tolerant spouse.

I love the house itself. The rooflines are very distinct, and between them and the Palm tree it has a very "Pacific" feel to it.

Thanks everyone...............yes I know the toilet door needed improvement, working on that.

I love my wife = is very tolerant, she supports my brick habit!

Yes my memories of living in the "Pacific", never cold!

Hopefully will be able to recreate that "Pacific" feeling again in my next house

Great house, the exterior really makes it for me as I am not as much of an interior guy, but I like your toilet and your kitchen sink...I too thought hmm...piano in the bedroom? but to each their own, sounds like you are musically gifted so if that is what you want, go for it! Thanks for sharing.

Nice to see that you build houses too  I stay with trucks and trailers, but are right to expand your view!

The interior is nice too, I love the piano on the second floor, love it...

Thanks, I had good fun building this house. This building style is helping me " upping my building skills ", I'm using elements I never considered using before. :look:

The home will be one of many I hope to be able to add to my 9v layout in my display in March. ( along with your trucks & trailers   )

The wife suggested I move the piano, she can;t sleep, it went downstairs next to the stairway. :laugh_hard: I'm going to add a lounge chair upstairs later

I am a huge fan of miniature house models. I absolutely dig this one! The detail on the outside made me like it but then I saw the inside! Everything about the inside it so neat and detailed. I loved the little kitchen and bathroom areas. Great job!

For your first house, this is great! If you hadn't said otherwise I would have thought it wasn't! The details on the interior really stand out as well. Also has sort of a beach-like feel to it...I like it!

Fellow builders,

@ bitbang Thanks for your compliment. This was my first adventure in Modular building. I usually build in Model Team style or Technic style, hence my avatar of my first truck, I built last year. When I finished the major layout of the outside of the house, I decided to include an interior as I had plenty of extra parts to add details. ( it helps me improve my building skills too )

@ TMJ28 Yes, I tried to capture that "Pacific/Beach" feeling, as I used to live in a perpetual warm climate year round . So.........I tried my hands at this creation. ( Thanks for commenting. )

( Spoiler Alert )............. Now that everyone has seen and enjoyed this MOC, I have enough parts to build in this style again. I have already almost finished the first floor of my 2nd Pacific House with the 2nd floor coming along nicely.

I hope to finish this new house between Christmas and the New Year, stay tuned and Happy Holidays to all. :sweet:

Thank-you alexb420. To answer your question..........No, I still have it built.

I'm currently working on a 2nd home and it is coming along nicely, the two will look fantastic  ( imho ) together.

I'll post pictures in a few days of Home # 2.

Okay. Looking forward to seeing house two! Is it in a similar achritectual style to this home?

Posted

@ alexb420....... Yes my new house is a similar style. The wife made a suggestion on the new house, it should have a Lanai' off of the bedroom.

@ eckarty........I was going to post an improved inside layout, but Bricksafe isn't working today.

@ Loves Houses...........Thanks for the compliment. My Lego Subdivision has some very interesting landscaping scattered about, don't know who the landscaping company is! If I could I would live there, but alas it's only in my mind!

From the earlier suggestions, I made some furniture changes as well as get rid of that 'hidden wall/door' for the loo, but Bricksafe isn't working today so I can't post pictures.
