kabel Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 A little something I build to fend of the dark thoughts during an incredibly dark late fall. Havn't see the sun in weeks ... : After a long and harsh winter spring has finally come to Mitgardia again. A week agon everything looked bleak and the last patches of snow were covering the ground. A warm wind from Kaliphlin had kickstarted the growing season though and in this old orchard outside flowers were competing with fruit trees in who had could bloom the hardest. Time to get out the beehives and collect all that honey so the production of mead could start again. For some reasons the Mitgardian dwarves had increased the appetite for their preferred beverage quite considerably in recent months ... Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Great little vig kabel, on the base and the trees! Quote
Garmadon Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Cool (warm? ) build, kabel, the beehives, landscape, fig, and trees are quite nice Quote
Slegengr Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Nice little build, kabel! The beehives are well-done, as are the trees. The low stone wall is a nice addition to the build. The flowers and other foliage work well for this scene. Quote
mccoyed Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Very nice scene. The foliage and trees look natural, which is hard to pull off. I also love that overgrown stone wall. Great idea and executed in a way that you'd almost miss it, just like in real life! Quote
Blufiji Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Those are some nice trees. Great Job. Quote
Alfadas Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Nice build! Love the hive, and the foilage looks nice too! Also cool little wall in the back. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Ah - something by my old friend kabel. Yes, we haven't seen the sun in weeks and so it is nice to see your green & yellow beaming MOC (well photographed). Very nicely done. I also noted the pipe. (I also came across your pottery the other day - also very nicely and effectively designed). Quote
mrcp6d Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Great little scene, the spines for branches is something I've not seen before! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Very neat trees and it's definitely a bright and cheery scene I like the inclusion of the little stone wall too Quote
kabel Posted December 17, 2014 Author Posted December 17, 2014 Thanks for all that positive feedback. Kinda surprising since this is just a small vig to get myself building again. Bigger mocs are in the making again though ... Quote
Petric_G Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Nice build kabel! I like the uplifting atmosphere! And of course the minifig with his big smile and the pipe! Quote
MassEditor Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Excellent, such a great idea! I'm guessing that's a device to "smoke out" the bees the keeper is holding? I love the vegetation and the photography is superb. Quote
kabel Posted December 18, 2014 Author Posted December 18, 2014 Thanks for the comments mates. Unfortunately I don't have the time to build anything bigger atm, but fortunately vacation is only a day for me! I'm guessing that's a device to "smoke out" the bees the keeper is holding? That's exactly it! My father in law is a beekeeper himself, so I know a little bit about bees myself. Might even get some bees of my own this spring! Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Nice vig! One of my favourites from you! Quote
Gideon Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Lovely little build! Great idea, well executed and photographed Quote
Jorrith Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Nice little build! It has a nice positive vibe about it, what is that guy smoking in his pipe? Quote
kabel Posted January 1, 2015 Author Posted January 1, 2015 Thanks for the comments guys. @Jorrith, not sure what beekeepers are usually smoking, but yeah, positive vibes is what I wanted to create with this! Quote
de Gothia Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I feel really bad for not comment on all these great mocs! I so love the feeling and atmosphere to this one Kabel! Great work! Quote
kabel Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 I feel really bad for not comment on all these great mocs! no problem, actually there is a whole lot of good stuff being posted by all kinds of members that it has become really hard to keep up with what is going on in this forum. BTW, in case you missed it, there also is a third moc in this current series. Quote
Adolfo Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Simple and lovely MOC with a nice scene. Cool! Quote
