Thanks!

At the moment I made a WIP topic for my entry but I forgot to put WIP on the name but I tagged it with WIP. When I finish my entry, can I make a new topic for it saying (final version)

Let's stick to a single discussion topic. I know it used to be a WIP topic, but I purposely called it a discussion topic in recent contests. There's no need to include WIP in the title. As a matter of fact, I even remove the [WIP] part....most of the time.

Did I post everithing right Jim ?

can i use a Sbrick for this Lego Experience ?

Nope. Basically you did a lot of things wrong. You didn't read the rules about using output ports, you didn't create a discussion topic and you didn't use a new MOC, but an existing one.

It's a simple a matter of reading the rules.... :sadnew:

hebben we ook een Nederlands forum, mijn engels is niet zo heel erg goed.

Hi,

Are parts from the Znap line allowed? I've never seen any Znap sets (They only existed for two years in my dark age), but I have a part from that line I want to use...

It's not vital, but adds a nice extra function.

Feel free to burn me for this question, but I was wondering after seeing some entries whether it is allowed that the gearbox is manual? I just assumed it had to be remote controlled as well, but I am not sure from reading the rules.

Sorry if it has been asked before, I read all of this topic the past few weeks, but don't remember it all :D

It doesn't matter for my entry, it's going to have a rc gearbox, just wondered for others.

It's actually a good question. The idea is obviously that the gearbox is powered by a motor, so you can operate the model remotely.

But I haven't explicitly mentioned it in the rules. Are there lots of entries already using a manual gearbox?

As long as 4 outputs are used, additional manual functions are allowed.

I think 2 or 3. I thought that was the intend as well to have a remote controlled gearbox since you even mentioned the 8043 gearbox as an example and the gearbox stuff wasn't listed at manual functions, but since Omikron already linked a reply from Blakbird I suppose it is fine.

Either way sorry for missing Blakbird's response.

No problem!

I will "see the manual gearbox through the fingers" as we commonly say in Holland

Excuse me if it was already covered, but can one post pictures in the entry topic of the model as if it had SBrick instead of IR receivers? Obviously this applies to contestants without SBrick.

I, for one, could not place the receivers nicely but the SBrick could be inserted pretty much anywhere inside the model (this is one of the advantages of the SBrick over the IR). For this reason I would like to take the pictures without the ugly IR receivers.

Also it is possible with one placeholder of the sbrick? We Could show how better will be our creation with sbrick

Yes, that's in the spirit of the contest. Assuming you reserved some space inside your model.

Yup

One would still need to attach IR receivers somewhere to demonstrate the functions in the mandatory video in the entry topic though, right? So I take it as for the still pictures, no IR receivers are OK (as long as it's certain there's room for an sBrick inside somewhere, but to demonstrate, you need the IR receivers, even if they're just attached at some random place on the outside of the model?

Do you know the abbreviation RTFM?

I would like to introduce another...RTFR

yes
