Posted December 19, 201410 yr This is my 5th entry to the Colossal Castle Contest - Category: Castle Siege This is a scene from the Lord of the Rings. The armies of Mordor are attacking the city of Minas Tirith. They are using the battering ram named Grond to break through the main gate. It is shaped like a wolf's head and enchanted with black magic. I hope you enjoy, thanks for C&C
December 19, 201410 yr Is that your sig fig in the wall? This is really great, middle-earth mocs are always welcome.
December 19, 201410 yr Nice job Disco86! This is a very cool scene and good little representation from lotr.
December 19, 201410 yr Great build, Disco! The wall and Grond do not seem to be quite large enough for minifigure scale, but both are excellently done! I particularly like the way you did the gate and the incorporation of the sand green pieces representative of what seems in the film to be a copper overlay on the door. The battle is perfectly chaotic, with everyone in action and disrepair on the wall from the battle.
December 19, 201410 yr Nice work, Grond is great, I especially love the attention to detail on the top of the wall, and the doors are just brilliant!
December 19, 201410 yr This is great. Grond has come to life in our world of bricks. Just to praise one more element: Excellent work on the doors!
December 20, 201410 yr Amazing work, Disco . I really love all your Middle Earth creations! Your Siege of Minas Tirith Moc looks fantastic! The techniques for Grond are very nice and it looks very accurate. Furthermore I also like the front gate with the lime green, green and the statues. The white walls with the dark bluish gray elements look stunning, too . Good luck for the contest!
January 4, 201510 yr Author Great thanks to all of you for commenting some nice words. Looking forward to this years LotR builds On 12/19/2014 at 12:42 PM, Mr Greeble said: Is that your sig fig in the wall? Yes he is, forgot to place him in even more MOCs this year... but the middle earth scene made his appearance inevitable On 12/19/2014 at 2:46 PM, Slegengr said: The wall and Grond do not seem to be quite large enough for minifigure scale, You are right, both have to be larger. But the size limit in the contest was 48x48, even the shrinked versions are too big for the plate
January 6, 201510 yr This is also an fantastic MOC from your CCC marathon! Well done in all details! markus
