Are there any Technic car transporter MOCs out there?....TLG have never had any official Technic sets in this genre...wonder why?

Well, I'm thinking of building one for the TC6 contest, but it is still at a very early stage. Other than that, there is

and
.

I think a transporter would be a great UCS model! But you need something to transport along.

This one really is tiny! :-)

On this "tiny thing" one could transport everything.

I remember this one made to carry all the supercars. I would think the reason we don't see more of them is that car transporters are only fun in you have cars to put in them. Since Technic cars tend to be so big, making a car transporter at the same scale is very difficult.

I don't think that 8109 technically counts, because it is more of a tow truck and/or wrecker truck. Most people define a car carrier as being like this:

For the sake of argument, yes, it would be difficult to make a set like this. However, I think it would be possible to make a flagship set of a car carrier, with 3 cars. For this to work, each car would be 200-300 pieces, and only have steering, and maybe a little fake engine. That would leave 1700-2000 parts left for the truck, if it were a 42009 size set, with 2600 pieces.

Or, one could have something like this:

This idea certainly exists in the Creator line. It even includes a non-trivial number of Technic parts.

I built one a couple of years back I only dismantled the top deck a couple of months back still have the rest of it as it makes a good low loader .

Oddly I dont seem to have any good photos of it, the best I found. http://hiddenforest.co.nz/CarTransporter.jpg

Its fully remoter controlled including the 5th wheel, top ramp and lower.
