Leewan Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 And yet people were able to upload stuff during the NYCC... This is different. The NYCC wasn't a Lego exhibition, and the people who uploaded stuff were visitors, not attendees. Quote
GK733 Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Did anybody actually grab the full Okoto map from the site? It'd be lovely to have the thing as a whole image. So much detail... It's chopped in 26 different pics, I never asked for this. But I'm for sure not the one combining these 1 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/2/2/0.jpg 2 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/2/1/0.jpg 3 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/2/3/0.jpg 4 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/2/0/0.jpg 5 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/2/2/1.jpg 6 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/2/0/1.jpg 7 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/2/1/1.jpg 8 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/2/3/1.jpg 9 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/3/1.jpg 10 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/4/1.jpg 11 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/2/1.jpg 12 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/5/1.jpg 13 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/6/1.jpg 14 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/1/1.jpg 15 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/3/2.jpg 16 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/5/2.jpg 17 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/4/2.jpg 18 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/6/2.jpg 19 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/1/2.jpg 20 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/2/2.jpg 21 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/4/3.jpg 22 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/3/3.jpg 23 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/2/3.jpg 24 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/5/3.jpg 25 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/6/3.jpg 26 http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/bionicle/-/media/franchises/bionicle%202014/okoto%20map/8192x4096/3/1/3.jpg Quote

GK733 Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 That Okoto map is on Bionicle facebook page, you know... I'm aware of the map but I think the one on the website is... bloody Karzahni, It's actually smaller. Strange because when zoomed in the one on the website looks better. Guess Facebook dumped down the quality. Quote
Shakar Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 I wish Protector of Fire used these as his weapons. They would've looked great! TheOneVeyronian Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 {picture of Phoenix Chima set} I wish Protector of Fire used these as his weapons. They would've looked great! You've given me a good idea actually. I'm buying both of those sets upon release, so I'll see what Protector of Fire looks like with the Phoenix flames and maybe post a photo of the result. Also, I meant to mention this months ago, but that Phoenix set also contains RED Protector feet... Quote
ToaDraco Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Those pieces certainly have massive potential for use in Bionicle, maybe in the summer wave... Quote

MightySlickPancake Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 So I heard you like hi-res Okoto maps Silly lego, that's not how you draw mata nui.... But seriously that incrediably beautiful and I hope we see more images in HD soon, like this from the FB site. Quote
Dorek Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 So I heard you like hi-res Okoto maps <3 Beautiful. I have no idea how I'm going to fit that onto the wiki without breaking everything, but damn... gorgeous. Quote

Kalhiki Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 I love how the Jungle Region has bits of yellow in it. Makes a nice consistency with it and the sets of that region. Also, has anyone else noticed the ominous craters? Specifically in the Desert and Water Regions? Wonder what that's all about (if anything). Quote
Agent Fusion Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Well, Ekimu and Makuta's final battle was in the Stone Region, so that would explain the crater there. As for the others, the three Legendary Masks were scattered all over the island... Quote
Still Raindrop Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Aesthetically: Okoto >> Mata Nui I've got to agree. Also, it manages to be somewhat realistic (assuming that the clouds move from east to west) while still clearly showing which region is which. Quote
Aanchir Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 I don't know whether I prefer Okoto to Mata Nui aesthetically, but I do definitely think that it's a bit more readable than the Mata Nui map, in which it could be hard to tell where one region ended and another began. Without previously knowing the locations, it could be easy to think Mata Nui was split into four regions (a forested southern region, a dry northern region, an icy western region, and a grassy eastern region) rather than six. The radiating mountain ranges of Okoto may be a bit strange, but they do help to clearly delineate the different regions. If I had to pick my favorite region of Okoto from an aesthetic standpoint, it would have to be the Region of Water. Islands! Deltas! Fjords! I really hope there's some video game coming which lets you explore the island... Quote
The Kumquat Alchemist Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 (edited) That picture of Okoto is a beauty. The distinctly separate Okoto regions harken back to the Slizer planet, an interesting turn of events. Admittedly, planet Slizer was more cleanly and evenly divided, but there is a similarity, in contrast to Mata-Nui's more naturally blended terrain. I prefer Mata-Nui, due to its more gradient blending of environments, but the clearly separate regions of Okoto have merit, if at least for Slizer nostaligia. TheOneVeyronian Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 You know their release is imminent when Amazon starts listing them for pre-order to be shipped in 3-5 weeks time. So, out of curiosity, I looked on Amazon UK to get some GBP prices for the Bionicle sets... and somehow I can't quite believe some of them: Protectors: £9.99 Small Toa/LOSS: £12.99 Large Toa: £14.99 Just thought it was rather strange as I was expecting the Protectors to be £7.99 or £8.99 and the large Toa to be £17.99 when comparing the USD/GBP price ratios on similarly sized/priced Hero Factory sets. And Amazon, from experience, tend to be right with their RRP's on new sets... but I hope they're wrong with the UK prices of the Protectors and right with the Large Toa Slightly off topic thought: It's curious that Amazon UK still used preliminary pictures of the sets when finalised ones are out there... dviddy Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 To add to the review thing real fast, when the first three Toa sets were reviewed, those were the ONLY sets that had been given out by TLG. I am adding a brief photo of powered-up Tahu in my PoF review, but there was no way to do it in my Tahu review. Quote
Mutant Orc Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Hm, those Amazon listings of the sets are interesting... Quote
