December 25, 201410 yr This early? Dang! A present for all of us! Set names sound mostly legitimate, considering "Lord of Skull Spiders" is a set name and all. Really hoping "Mask Maker" is Ekimu (it probably is), I'm excited to get the Mask of Creation!
December 25, 201410 yr Heh, this is definitely a nice present. The first four are definitely villains and Mask Maker has to be Ekimu (not sure why they didn't call him by his name, though). If they look anything like the scorpion guys statues, then count me excited. Just not another LOSS, please! Skull Grinder is what I'm really curious about. Ekimu being in a explicitly conflict based set suggests that his opponent is Makuta (and boy would I love that), but I don't see how "Grinder" can be referred to Makuta. Unless this is another Lhikan & Kikanalo scenario- Ekimu being packaged with a villain character despite the fact the two never met before. Also OT, I got the clear Hau yesterday and boy is it cool. Not just for its colour, I'm also happy because all the doubts I had about Tahu's new mask are gone. The shape is definitely not squashed and it's a great update over the original. December 25, 201410 yr I meant getting Makuta as in, eg, not Maxilos or the Great Spirit Robot. I don't see what's wrong with LEGO not making a "THIS IS *PURE* MAKUTA" set. This gives them time to expand CCBS further to make an overall better set.
December 25, 201410 yr If this is legit, I kinda hope the Skull Scorpio is an actual scorpion rather than those warriors. We have more than enough humanoids already, an updated evil and skeletal Nui-Jaga would be a million times better. I do hope that we get some new colors of the basic spiders, though. A purple or pink skull spider would be excellent. Also, for some reason my first thought after reading "Skull Grinder" was "Helicoprion?". Why? I don't know, considering that that would be the most implausible set ever. I do think some sort of saw would be fitting for such a character. I do wonder whether the "Mask Maker" is actually Ekimu. It seems less likely, considering that the "Bone Grinder" is probably a villain, but it could be that the Mask Maker is Makuta. Makuta is obsessive enough to be willing to fight someone just to stop them from getting power. The other sets sound like generic humanoid soldier builds. Hopefully they'll be a bit more interesting than that, though. Maybe some nice colors, like we got in the first wave, could spice them up a little. If they're paler, "bleached-bone" shades rather than bright ones, that would be perfect.

I am sure they could make an amazing Makuta set using current CCBS. I am, however, now in the camp of not seeing Makuta until the climax. After my idea for a two-pack got partially shot down I thought on it, and it really would be more interesting to get Makuta later on down the line.

December 25, 201410 yr I kinda hope they save Makuta for later. Build him up a little before releasing him as a set.
December 25, 201410 yr I'd be ok with Makuta showing up in 2016, the only reason I'd like to see him in 2015 is because I fear we won't see another chance to get his pre-corruption form, which I like way more than his (IMO) cliched obviously evil form. It is easily one of my favourite villain designs in constraction ever, the black/gold/tr purple colour scheme is just way too good. I guess I'd be ok with not getting a set of him now if I knew we're getting a gold MoCo later, but we'd still miss out amazing parts like all the tr. purple goodness.
