LEGO doesn't make console games for non-media based lines (LEGO Movie, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, etc), only handheld games. And I can guarantee you this, if Gen 2 gets one of them it won't be the game you're hoping for.

Is that official or just observation?

Also I thought the documents that predicted Okoto and 5 summer sets said there would be a PC, Xbox, and ps4 game.

Observation. The only exception to the rule is Undercover.

I don't have time to check the leaked documents right now, but if they actually did say that there would be a lot more fanfare over it. This is the first time I've even seen the idea of a Gen 2 console game.

Well, we got Bionicle Heroes in 2006...

I don't believe that was mentioned. There were some leaks that said we were going to get console games, but those turned out to be fake. Maybe you're confusing those two?

Do you think Bionicle would make an appearance in this game?

I very much doubt it, unless they made sets with minifigures in the near future (which I also doubt).

Well, Bionicle characters don't have to be the playable ones, you know. I'd be glad even if they made a cameo.

Issue is though, the whole idea of this game is buying minifigures/models that integrate with the game. Without Bionicle minifigures of some sort, a Bionicle world would be quite out of place.

I could be wrong though.

And before that we had Bionicle: The Game released with the first movie.

And they could be keeping the game a secret for the 3-year finale or something. But I doubt it: LEGO aready said they're keeping the budget low this time, so a game outside of the "mobile app" range is probably unlikely. If the line is successful enough, however, there might be a chance.

They could always release a CCBS-focused sequel or expansion, like Skylanders did with Giants/Swap Force/Trap Team and Disney Infinity did with Marvel... Like I said above, however, it's unlikely.

Not sure if anyone already posted this: while looking for BIONICLE news on Google, I found a neat little detail in Kopaka's shrine:

Tahu was the only other Toa with a doorway to the shrine; maybe his has something of the Mask of Fire as well?

EDIT: Just checked; no it doesn't. Shame. :cry_sad:

Hehe, nice little detail.

Nice, I didn't notice that before. Cute.

As for Dimensions, they might well make reference to it at some point, but the line would have to run much longer to see some kind of actual BIONICLE figure, probably.

^ If Bionicle would appear in Dimensions, it would probably just be a mask stand.

I'll take a 3DS game, provided that don't screw with the formula from their own games.

If the above rumour is true, then I'm kinda bummed that the Wii U's getting skipped. Seriously, first we don't get Lego Batman III's DLC, and then no Bonkle game? Uh, Lego? You know there's more target audience overlap between the Wii U and LEGO than with the PS4 or Xbone, right? And you games tend to do better on Nintendo consoles? Feel like making something for them and not shafting them? Only thing they'd get out of skipping the Wii U is better graphics, and I don't like it when games get too focused on the graphics. Gameplay, story, characters first, worry about graphics later.

Anyway, since I was last on, I got a bunch of sets:

Kopaka: I love his upper build, except for the grey bones in his shoulders. However, his lower build is a bit of a mess. Must be honest, I gave him Breakout Nex's torso shell right out of the box. Found the weapons a bit of a disappointment- The shield's great, but the spear is lacklustre.

Pohatu: Grabbed him yesterday. He's a bit of a letdown out of the box, but with mods, he looks fantastic. Honestly, I only got him over Onua because I wanted the Golden Mask of Stone for my Toa of Psionics MOC, and then the eyes were so narrow that it looked crap on her, so now she has the Golden Mask of Water, which I'm treating as a "Counts-as" Mask of Possibilities for old-universe-compatibility. I think his weapons are poor, but on the plus side, I finally have a use for the burnt orange Lewa Nuva Katanas that came on the Gukko all those years ago.

Protector of Stone: A fun little set, but he/she had one major, major flaw. His/her parts were too useful, making him the first 2015 set I took apart. I might get another one, though.

Protector of Water: My "Counts-as" for either Hahli or Gavla 2015, as a set she's great. THe weapons are dodgy, but creative, I suppose. I don't like the fans on her shoulders, so I took those off. I was quite surprised to see that the one set of the Protectors that's most likely to be female (I consider PoJ, PoS, and PoW female, and PoF, PoE, and PoI male for some reason) have a very obviously oversized chest and backside. Guess we found an alternative to the dreaded Nuvaboob and Inikass! Albeit only for small sets with XT4 torsos.

Protector of Ice: Got him yesterday with Pohatu. I think his limbs are a bit too short, and his weapons poor, but otherwise, he's fantastic.

Getting quite annoyed by colour-scheme breaking bone pieces. I mean, I can accept that the "Hinge-joint" bones come in grey instead of black, but since sets are so much better with ball-jointed bones instead of hinges, at least in the arms, then why keep the hinges?

If Dimensions ever had a Bionicle-themed pack, my guess is that the minifig (assuming a minifig would be done of course) would need new moulds, and I'm not completely convinced Dimensions would bring us any new moulds. Unless Gen 2 Bionicle revisits playsets. Also kind of unlikely.

But honestly, I'd probably explode with joy if there was a Bionicle-themed pack in a subsequent wave with buildable Protector-sized model and it's toys-to-life stand. I'd buy that even though I will not be buying the game itself (too much commitment, and I don't have any of the consoles it's on). But eh, it's extremely unlikely. I should just expect a cameo of some sort.

Now, if Dimensions had came out a year earlier... we might have possibly been seeing HF Invasion from Below themed packs. They would likely have been easier to do than Bionicle since it actually had minifigures of sorts...

Yeah, IfB would have been great for Dimensions. But as others have said, I wouldn't be surprised if they used masks instead of figs for BIONICLE. Maybe with an extra protector-esque build, or they could include several masks in one pack.

Lego Dimensions? Bionicle playsets, yo. Playsets.

It'd be nice if that game released single-pack minifigs or small sets (don't know if that's the plan or if it's going to be full-scale sets. Haven't looked into it much). That way, getting a Bionicle Minifig (a la IFB Heroes)would probably be more likely. Just a small set that has a Mini-Toa and maybe an accessory.

The only problem I see with just having masks is that they would have very limited play value outside the game, whereas a minifigure has plenty more real world play value. Unless the masks also came with a Protector-esque build of course. Don't know why, but I had some weird thought about "what if the trans-clear Hau was released in a Dimensions fun pack?" when somebody suggested that they would use masks instead of figs

Yeah, I just don't see LEGO Bionicle in LEGO Dimensions happening unfortunately, as much as I'd love it to :sceptic: But maybe LEGO will surprise us? How would they scale the Bionicle figs for instance, if masks were used to represent them? I have a hard time imagining a Constraction model being represented at the size of a minifig whilst keeping true to the model.

They're like mini-sets. You get at least one figure and one small buildable vehicle in all the expansion packs I believe :classic:

Thanks! I looked around, and that's what it seems to be.

If Bionicle Dimensions does happen, then I'm positive they'd have IFB Hero-type minifigs for the Toa. As for a small model, maybe a mask stand/shrine? With a golden mask?

They could be in-game power ups and not actual characters. I think TT would handle Bionicle and Minifigure sized characters horribly.

Given the prices (starting at 14,99€ for a Fun Pack, containing a minifig and a small build), I wouldn't be too bothered if they don't release a BIONICLE-themed "set". But this is because I'm not especially interested in the game.

I could kinda see them making a minifig helmet designed after the Toa Masks and then putting it on an IFB-style body.

It's really frustrating that gen2 has a small budget when Bionicle is LEGO's most successful homegrown theme next to Ninjago. Heck, Ninjago has a tv show and a huge following yet LEGO doesn't have enough faith in it to give it anything more than a 3ds game. At least they will get a part in Dimensions with booster packs so they'll be in a console game to some degree. I'll be happy if Bionicle at least gets a 3ds game but for now my hopes aren't high given the current app-happy generation. I want a real video game dangit.

I'm not sure what to think about this Dimensions game just yet. The game concept sounds good and I like the intermixing of various themes but I'm not sure I like the idea or forking over large amounts of money for a few minifigs and minibuilds for what is tantamount to a little dlc. The idea of toys connected to games is cool but they way it is implemented is terrible and expensive. At least with LEGO the minifigs can be taken off the stands and actually used for play whereas Skylanders and Amiibos are just plastic figures with no movement or play value. I might look into it when the starter pack is on sale or if we get some nice booster packs like the Back to the Future one, otherwise I'll pass. I seriously doubt Bionicle will show up in Dimensions but if it does... that might be a game changer. A Bionicle booster pack with Bionicle minifigs or masks(most likely) and a Bionicle levels would be cool.

I'm by no means a mobile gamer either, simply because I don't actually have a smart phone or tablet.

What sort of genre do you think would work? I'm all up for something like the other Lego games (Loved Lego Batman III), but do you think they could go another route? Maybe a MOBA of some sort? After all, Bonkles are about unity, and MOBAs are about teamwork. You could have the full-sized sets as playable characters, the Protectors as minions, and Otokan wildlife as creeps. Even better, each new wave of figures could be patched in as playable characters, so, say they started with the Masters, you'd begin with just the Toa, and then they'd add the Skull Army, then the 2016 winter wave, etc. The only problem I can see with this is that the MOBA and Bonkle target audiences don't exactly overlap.

Random subject change: Are any of the play-by-post games on here Bonkle-flavoured? Because that needs to be a thing.

We've never had direct confirmation on where BIONICLE stands on the "best seller list". There's been times when LEGO has said "most successful line" but mostly "one of our most successful lines". Sure, the terms aren't interchangeable, but it's curious as to why they can't give a consistent answer. I do recall it being said once that NINJAGO was more successful in it's first year than BIONICLE was in its own, but I'm not sure about where it lies for the 2nd year of each.

What I'd like to know is why do we go crazy with every ccbs recolor we get? If TLG is more financially successful then ever why are they giving us so little compared to Gen 1? I think it's pretty sad, the sets are amazing don't think I don't think so but why don't we get unique bone colors like we did, or giving us more non-metalic armor? We used to get that kind of stuff all of the time, even in 2001, look how diverse things were then yet TLG was about to go bankrupt?
