Jakura Nuva Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) If there were a TV show, who do y'all think could be the voice actors if it were to happen? I would probably say Scott McNeil for some of the Toa (Tahu, Onua, & Pohatu). I like Scott McNeil, and I don't mind him as Tahu, but I'm not sure he'd be great at Pohatu and Onua. Onua's voice needs to be low and rumbling (Kevin Michael Richardson, perhaps?), and I still want to see an Australian-accented Pohatu :P. Lewa needs to be young and cheerful (not Scottish and peaceful), Steve Blum as Kopaka, and for Gali... obviously peaceful and level-headed, but I want her to sound younger than she did in MoL. Lord-Vorahk Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Scott McNeil played Tahu in MoL if I remember rightly. Quote

Lord-Vorahk Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Also, got to say, Steve Blum as Kopaka would be perfect, though I'd quite like to see (Hear?) him as whatever Teridax-equivalent this line has. Lee Tockar did a good job, but his Makuta voice was a bit over-the-top and generic, and I couldn't really hear him saying the sort of lines Teridax had in the later stories, when his nature as a calculating mastermind was revealed, as opposed to his original Generic Doomsday Villain/Evil Overlord role, nor can I hear him saying the things Terry said in MNOG. Agreed. Wait, I've got it for the villain! Frank Welker! Edited September 9, 2014 by Jakura Nuva Quote
Kamen Rider Kiva Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Agreed. Wait, I've got it for the villain! Frank Welker! YES!! That'd be perfect, if only we could find a spot for Peter Cullen. :P Quote
Lord-Vorahk Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) Frank Welker's stint as TFP Megatron was good, and it would be pretty awesome, but I'd just be hearing Megatron, not Teridax. YES!! That'd be perfect, if only we could find a spot for Peter Cullen. :P I'd say the same here as with Welker. We wouldn't hear whatever character he played, we'd just hear Optimus. Although I can kinda hear him as Ignika. Edited September 9, 2014 by Lord-Vorahk Quote

I loved how smug and happy he always was. McNiel was Onua though, and he sounded a bit daft. 2: Lewa was Irish 3: I liked Gali's voice, but I may be biased because its exactly the same voice as an mlp character the same actress plays, complete with the same modulator. Lord-Vorahk Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I'd prefer Gali to sound a bit more like Nokama, or, to breach the franchise, maybe Arcee? Just someone that makes her sound a little younger and sharper. Quote
Timeline15 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Arcee from Prime? Yeah, that was a great voice. Quote
Aanchir Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I've never understood why people had a problem with Lewa's voice in Mask of Light. Sure, it wasn't what most of us were expecting. But I don't see any reason that it doesn't fit the character. Of course, I don't see why people get so up in arms about voice acting in general. It's especially bothersome when people declare certain voices annoying for perfectly arbitrary reasons (I've heard people criticize Applejack from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic because they "can't stand Southern accents", which seems like as stupid a prejudice to have about fictional characters as it would be to have about people in real life). There's nothing wrong with disliking a character's portrayal in terms of how they're actually acted (like how the "quiet and wise" Onua became loud and boisterous in BIONICLE: Mask of Light), but disliking something as simple as an accent seems paltry. Timeline15 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Lewa was a bit annoying to me simply because of how overdone the accent was. It sounded like something out of a lucky charms advert. (That and the fact that treespeak is irritating). Quote
SirPuddings Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I'd like it if Pohatu was voiced by the guy who voices Sniper in Team Fortress 2 (John Patrick Lowrie), seeing as he's Australian now Quote

Toa of Gallifrey Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I've always wanted Lewa to be Australian but Pohatu was given the honor. Still wanna hear Australian-accent Treespeak. XD Quote
Timeline15 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Jamaican would make slightly more sense. Why was he even Irish? Because he was green? Also, inB4 someone complains that we're discussing VA's because "it's too theoretical". Quote

Timeline15 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) It's not that he was Irish, it's that the accent was done so over-the-top. Some Irish family members of mine get annoyed by portrayals like that. Not properly offended or anything, but I had to hold in laughter during Lewa's scenes due to how comical it was. I wouldn't remotely mind seeing him be Irish again, if it were just toned down a little, like the voice of an actual person Edited September 10, 2014 by Timeline15 Quote

But it was the accent that communicated that change. I actually liked his calm/peaceful personality, since I always saw Lewa as the "Hippie" Toa. He loved nature, and animals, and it just seemed to fit him. Now, I do hate how "Onua: Wise Toa of Earth" turned into "Onua: Really Strong guy who crushes things." And what about Whenua in LOMN? That was.......slightly......racist. Quote
Jetrax99 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I suppose, that kanohi is Artakha's. if you remember the web-story "Reign of shadows" you must remember the Artakha's and his mask description. Well, Artakha is gray-green, but he won the Mask of Creation. So, it is gold, not gray-green. The Mask of Time, Mask of light, Mask of life are gold. Why Kanohi of Creation can't be gold too? If it true, BIONICLE will return! With amazing storyline. I would be very sad, if the Lego Group will reiterate the storyline and make it simple just as HeroFactory's. i should say, this way - is the worst. Lets compare Bionicle and HeroFactory. Bionicle. We have a really amazing huge storyline that continued for 10 (!) years. Herofactory. Only simple missions with no general storyline. Maybe Artakha will appear after "The yesterday Quest". Artakha's kanohi has the same decorative style as Ignika. It's look really fantastic! Allons-Y! One problem. It doesn't match the description. At all. There are no intricate patterns and design, certainly none to represent every species in the matoran universe, and the eye holes are normal and rounded, whereas on the MoC, the eyes are "angular and pointed". This is NOT Artakha's mask. Quote
Timeline15 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) I would definitely want Andrew Francis back as Jaller if he ever played a role (again, since one of his MLP voices is ideal for Jaller's toa form) Dunno about Tahu though... And what's this rascist LOMN portrayal you mention? I remember almost nothing about Whenua other than his incredibly cheesy "cus that's what friends do" line in Web of Shadows.
