TwistLaw Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Sorry! We already got them! (Well, the NZD prices at least.) Thanks anyway! Good to know that site finally added 2015 stuff.. -Sci The prices are in Euro, for the first time. Most people in this topic keep on forgetting a whole world exists outside the anglosphere >_____> Quote
Jasonified Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 It's inevitable but we'll have to try to make it happen as least as possible. We have to welcome a new generation of fans to our religion toyline. Indeed. This is a very unfortunate time for the old community. There's been a lot of fights going around as of late, so if we want to keep the community alive, we'll need a new batch of minds. Quote
Lyichir Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Indeed. This is a very unfortunate time for the old community. There's been a lot of fights going around as of late, so if we want to keep the community alive, we'll need a new batch of minds. Don't think new blood is going to prevent fights—if anything, it might hasten them. But it will almost certainly replace the people who have left for one reason or another, and more importantly, add new perspectives to a fandom which has become more and more like an echo chamber. For that reason I welcome the fresh ideas of a new generation of fans. Quote
Kalhiki Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I took a look at the box display picture again. Nothing new to report, but I did get little excited kick. Sometimes it takes a bit for me to realize this is happening. Bionicle is coming back. And on that note, time to add to the hype: ONLY 4 WEEKS TILL NEW YORK COMIC CON!!! Hope to see a reveal! Quote
dviddy Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Those prices combined with the earlier discussion on gears or functions returning really makes me wonder if there is more to these torsos than just a new mold. We can see a good chunk of Tahu, and he's not on par with what HF was giving at 20. I'm expecting some surprise in the torso to explain the higher price points. Quote
Toa of Gallifrey Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I just hope we get a little more info at NYCC, since return is practically confirmed with the logo. Particularly I'd like a teaser for the story and a hint at what we'll get in terms of media. Not sure how likely any of this is to happen, this is my first time following a major Lego reveal. Quote
Timeline15 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 anyone remember whether HF had a presence at comic-con in 2010? Also, Tahu's price being due to torso McGuffins is highly likely, given Lego's approach to titans lately (e.g. Fangar, Furno XL, etc). Quote

Aanchir Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 (edited) I don't think HF had a comic-con 2010 presence. Not sure, though. Actually, it did! At SDCC 2010 the LEGO booth had a special edition version of the first Hero Factory comic to give away to visitors, a costumed character dressed up as Preston Stormer, a screen showing the HF TV special (or part of it, anyway), and even a full one-hour Hero Factory panel. At SDCC 2011 there was a costumed character dressed up as Rocka 3.0, a display case featuring many of the sets on a brick-built cityscape. And in tangentially related news, that's when the Super Heroes constraction sets were first revealed. Edited September 12, 2014 by Aanchir Quote

Aanchir Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I'm hoping for a display of all the sets, since the image we have isn't that clear. All thirteen sets might be a lot to hope for (this isn't a trade show like Toy Fair), but you never know. I think it's entirely possible that they might show at least the six Toa. I'll be reporting back from NYCC for Eurobricks, so you can rest assured that I'll do my best to document whatever it is they reveal (even if it's not BIONICLE). Quote

Clone 01354 Productions Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Yeah, thirteen is too much to hope for. Likely, it will just be Tahu, since he is he most iconic Bionicle character. Quote

If the special new theme reveal event is actually for BIONICLE, I don't believe for a minute that they'd only be revealing one set. Quote
Chro Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Also for the record, I do completely believe that Jungle is Lewa's proper new element and that it's not a broken translation. :P Pretty sure it's gonna be a reboot even if Jungle is a mistranslation. Same here. Quote
Jakura Nuva Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 BREAKING NEWS: The German online retailer website (spielwaren-werst,de) has leaked the prices! 70778 Protector of Air $9,99 70779 Protector of Stone $9,99 70780 Protector of Water $9,99 70781 Protector of Fire $9,99 70782 Protector of Ice $9,99 70783 Protector of Earth $9,99 70784 Lewa - Master of Air $14,99 70785 Pohatu - Master of Stone $14,99 70786 Gali - Master of Water $14,99 70787 Tahu - Master of Fire $19,99 70788 Kopaka - Master of Ice $19,99 70789 Onua - Master of Land - $19,99 70790 Lord of the Skull Spiders $14,99 I have calculated Euro to US$, so here we go!!! EDIT 2: Removed Jungle and added Air instead, and the same change to Onua to Land! First off, HA! I told you (whoever you were) that the larger three would be $20! Secondly, I'm extremely satisfied with the cheap price for LOSS. Makes things more affordable in general :P All thirteen sets might be a lot to hope for (this isn't a trade show like Toy Fair), but you never know. I think it's entirely possible that they might show at least the six Toa. ToaofPlasma Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 *Prays prices are fake* Those twenty dollar sets better have a lot of pieces! I dont even get the $15 dollar jaw beasts. i spend only like $25 dollars(At most) on lego when I go to the store. Quote

I dont even get the $15 dollar jaw beasts. i spend only like $25 dollars(At most) on lego when I go to the store. Ummm... Jaw Beast is a $10 set. Are you talking about the beast sets in general? I'm also hoping for equitable piece counts. This year's Hero Factory sets were pretty good as far as piece count is concerned, though, especially the $15 sets (most of them offered twice as many pieces as even some $13 BIONICLE sets from 2008 and 2009). The only Hero Factory set this year that I felt had a fairly disappointing piece count was Splitter Beast (just 108 pieces for $20), but even that wasn't awful. Quote
Clone 01354 Productions Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Tahu, Kopaka, and Onua are $20? Noooooo! Now the entire team will be $105!! UGH!! Well, time to plan out: I need all the Toa, I would like the Defenders and SS, and I still need to buy Star Wars sets next year. Why does Lego hate me....... Quote
Chro Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I'm sure they love you. They just love your money more. Quote

ToaofPlasma Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 (edited) Ummm... Jaw Beast is a $10 set. Are you talking about the beast sets in general? I mean the crystal beast and flyer beast(if that was $15) I did get the splitter beast considering my brother is a lego fan as well. Pretty disappointing, especially the color scheme. Orange and Blue are opposite colors! I'll probably get Lewa or Pohatu and a protector of stone or air. Also, maybe the reason Kopaka and Tahu are bigger and have more gold is because they were leaders (Kopaka lead the Phantoka) I'm kinda sad that the toa are different sizes, though. Maybe the size dfference wont be bad. Edited September 12, 2014 by ToaofPlasma Quote
PenPlays Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 (edited) Looking at those prices, I'm hoping that Fred Meyer's "buy one get one free" sales on Constraction figures continues through next year. Just thinking of having a titan sized Tahu got me to buy a ticket for the hype train. There are no breaks... #omegatahu #mardigras Edited September 12, 2014 by Penkid11 Quote
bacem Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 ok, so here's my tought about 3 xl toa: tahu: probably the surf board has a little complex build, and thus boosted the price. onua: his body looks pretty bulky, hopefully that bulk has real mass to justify his price. kopaka: i don't really understand, but looking at him closer, it looks like he has a pretty big shield and some more armor on his upper body. maybe that's what makes him xl? and the LOSS is $15, i tought he's going to be the biggest set. i guess we're all mistaken this. it's a good think tough. he's more affordable that way, and i'm always welcoming character with non bipedal build.
