Agent Fusion Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Maybe Pohatu's silver has some story significance. Maybe they're prosthetics or mechanical upgrades. Quote
Grima Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Ah, yes, a prosthetic entire lower body. I've heard of those. Quote
Nekchir Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I think it might be just a throwback to his Nuva form. Quote
Quisoves Pugnat Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 The existence of death =/= dark, unless you want to say every children's show that ever covered the loss of a loved one is dark and gritty. Quite true. Jaller's temporary death doesn't really make MoL especially dark. But combine it with the other two elements I mentioned, and while it's obviously still family-friendly, it's not a light-hearted romp. Though of course, Bionicle was never Blade Runner, so searching for dark elements is not going to yield a plethora of them (certainly no more than the Star Wars films, I think.) Quote
Chro Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Ah, yes, a prosthetic entire lower body. I've heard of those. EU Darth Maul says hi Quote

Lego probably just doesn't want to make recolours (idk how expensive that is, but I would assume any difference in cost is enough to make them try to avoid it). Quote
TheBrickPal Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Wow, you guys were pretty good! Y'know, for all we know, it could be Bionicle's return. Just bring back Bionicle with the new system and we're all good Tomorrow is the day... Quote

Kalhiki Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) In terms of Pohatu's silver... I guess he's the new Bulk? Does silver appeal more to kids than brown? I guess I don't really mind it. It's growing on me. Stone isn't always brown, and there are plenty of grey rocks around. EDIT: On 19/09/14, LEGO finally unveiled the long-awaited next wave of Galidor. No. Just... Get out. Edited September 18, 2014 by Kalhiki Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 On 19/09/14, LEGO finally unveiled the long-awaited next wave of Galidor. It's funny, but I don't think that the TV show lasted long enough for a second wave...the toys may even have been around longer than the show. Quote
zg0 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I still think adding functions is an incredibly dumb thing that will only hurt the characters' aesthetics.lego may include alternate build without function to satisfy people who don't like functions. Quote
Shakar Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I think it might be just a throwback to his Nuva form. Nah, it's just yet another attempt by Lego to find a brown replacement. Notice how little brown there is in him, to the point it's little more than a secondary colour. It started with 2006, went through many attempts (keetorange, Carapar's mixed armour, orange, tan) and then when HF came they tried with silver with Bulk. Then Evo, Nex and Rocka were added to the original 6.But still, it shows that Lego considers silver as a possibility, and since they wanted to keep at least some brown in him, they had to find a colour that looked good with it (some like brown and yellow, but I find it to be a pretty awful duo- tr yellow is ok though). As Kahliki said, Pohatu is the new Bulk. I still think there's a possibility that he might be tan in the final version, but I won't argue that anymore and wait for some news tomorrow instead. Anyway, these guys have nothing to do with the Nuva, weapons aside- they're full on Mata remakes. Makes you wonder, though, what they'll do to his colours if they make the Nuva again, and if they do (IMO it's inevitable) if the trademark silver armour is kept across the whole team. I hope the Nuva are more consistent- the gold armour is ok, but it irks me a bit to see Pohatu following a different colour organization compared to the other Toa. lego may include alternate build without function to satisfy people who don't like functions. I really don't see that happening, as much as I'd like it.And, totally unrelated, but the new Miru is growing on me, a lot. It's got that odd alien quality to it (like the Inika masks), while still looking like a proper mask (unlike the Inika masks, lol). It reminds me of the Calix a bit, for some reason. Quote
Agent Fusion Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Why did they want to replace brown? Was there some sort of controversy I was unaware of? Quote

Kingslayer Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Why did they want to replace brown? Was there some sort of controversy I was unaware of? Just don't think they sell as well. Although I think in the case being Pohatu, they will get more sales because he is brown because of that nostalgia factor. I suspect if they ever do add more toa teams they may not be brown, with the exception of possibly Onewa Quote
Dorek Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Watch it not be BIONICLE, and they're actually masterful trolls. Why did they want to replace brown? Was there some sort of controversy I was unaware of? Brown was never a top seller, so they made the switch to keetorange/orange after 2006 to try and boost the sales. Quote
Agent Fusion Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I thought there would be more to it than that. Maybe they could use a lighter grey with brown accents in the future. Quote
Bfahome Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Ah, yes, a prosthetic entire lower body. I've heard of those. Brown confirmed. Quote

Shakar Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 If only it looked a little more like the original Miru... Btw, one more day till the countdown ends. Fingers crossed... I agree, but for some reason I see it as very fitting for Lewa. It looks very youthful and bright, compared to, say, Tahu's more stern look. Just like the original Miru. Luckily, as a fan of the guy, Lewa never got it hard as far as remakes and upgrades go (unlike Gali and Pohatu, poor souls). He's the only Toa of Tahu's team I like in every single incarnation of his. Quote
