Anyone notice the dual-funtion weapons?

Tahu: Two giant swords that form a lava board, as well as two shortswords.

Kopaka: Lance and shield that splits into giant swords.

Gali: Axe that becomes a shield and a spear.

Pohatu: Feet additions that become thigh guards.

All we need to see is if Lewa and Onua can do something similar, and we might be looking at confirmation of no Nuva revamps, since these sets have plenty of Nuva elements already.

All we need to see is if Lewa and Onua can do something similar, and we might be looking at confirmation of no Nuva revamps, since these sets have plenty of Nuva elements already.

Lewa can have swords and Onua can make his hammer a club and have shovels on both hands. In case the pads have an other connection too.

Really it's nice to see we are getting axle pieces back more and more and have more of techinc in build. That is one of the main reasons I adore Bionicle over most of Hero Factory and why I might be the only one actually wanting LOSS.

I could see Lewa's axe-blades doubling as wings. I'm not certain about Onua's hammer though, given that the same piece also forms his shoulder-armor.

EDIT: @GK733 Shovels make sense. That would be neat callback to his original form.

I can see them as wings, they even have the right shape. They'd just need a way to connect.Well, it the set doesn't have it as standard, it will when I'm done with it. Along with lime shells after I cannibalize the keetorange ones for my self MOC.

Gonna have to explain how Gali Axe become a shield?? Are you sure you dont mean flippers?

I didn't say they were as finalized. Mesonak said they were from the same time as the old leaks (one of them, anyway) which wasn't true. That's what I was correcting, these are close to the finalized images than the other prelims were.

edit: to clarify, by "one of them" I mean one of the sets of prelims we got.

Actually it seems like his weapons are supposed to be a mix of his Mata and Nuva weapons, pretty cool if I say so myself.

While I do completely agree with you personally, there is still the theory that the Toa control their respective regions of Spherus Magna, so Lewa would control the "Jungle region."

Yeah, I doubt they would all of a sudden say "Your Jungle now. Not Wind." in the middle of the storyline. This is a definite reboot.

And I agree that we probably (99%) won't see Nuva revamps, since these are more of a mix between the Mata and Nuva designs. Unless they go the way of Hordika or Mahri, meaning that the Toa undergo a massive change, they cannot change all that much.

But this is something that's been bugging me: if this is a reboot (almost definitely), and we have the original Toa Mata/Nuva, will we see the Toa Metru? Vakama is my favorite, and I would love to see a revamp of him.

I could see only re-doing the Mata to get the Bionicle vibe started, but I really do hope that we get the Metru......
