Bionicle 2015 Discussion

I'll be going next weekend. Doubt I'll find anything this early, though.

Depending on when I find them, I'd like to get the Protector of Stone first and then the rest for Christmas. Turaga Onewa was the first set I got (and later Pohatu), and I received the rest of the figures (Turaga and Toa) for Christmas that year. It'd just be a nice bit of nostalgia for me.

Personally I'd like to get either Tahu, Lewa, Kopaka or Gali first, and maybe the PoE as well.

My local TRU does not have anything yet and they consistently put stuff out very early. (i was the first person on this site to get Ultra Agents or Arctic City this year thanks to them.) Last year, they put new Ninjago out in late November, so that is the earliest I anticipate them releasing Bionicle. However, I think early to mid December is more likely.

(I know I said I'd do LoSS in my first batch but BZP already did him so I wanted to get a few out that you haven't seen yet, plus his review is really annoying me right now because I can't get him into any decent poses so it's an extremely boring set of final set images.. but he will be in the next batch!)

Man, the Protector of Fire looks slick! But that lack of elbows, man. And the super short upper legs aren't too great either.

Looking forward to Pohatu as well. Been wondering how the new incarnation of my favorite Toa of Stone will turn out.

Really looking forward to that Pohatu review. He seems like a great set. Fire Protector looks weird in my opinion, but alright overall.

I have a question for people who own the sets. How does Kopaka look with the torso piece from the 2012 version of Nex? I think his chestplate should cover the orange printing and the piece itself still looks pretty "Bionicle" in its aesthetic. (There are also purple and red versions to use on Onua and Tahu too.)

If I remember correctly, the Breakout torso has problems connecting with the chestplate (it doesn't connect completely and thus is quite flimsy).

Is the Rahkshi staff piece from Kopaka and Pohatu metallic silver from HF?

Yeah, it doesn't cover the sides properly. But you can actually set the chest armor a little lover, though it's not a steady connection... that actually explains why my MOC looks incomplete with the breakout armor. But I don't have any Brain attack armors. Damn.

I'm not sure (I have an unprinted one of those in white from Pick-A-Brick back in the day, but I forget where it is, and besides that I don't have Kopaka together right now). But I CAN tell you that that chest plate won't work for Onua without some other modifications. Any type of 8x5 chest plate would collide with the Y-joints on the shoulders of his torso beam, which are used to attach his shoulder armor.

How do you feel about Pohatu, VBBN ? I'm not sure if I like him or Lewa best as my favourite Master, to be quite honest.

Huh. Lewa's looking pretty good. At first the shoulders being raised so high was kinda jarring, but with all the armor around there, it's actually not that bad. Much better than I thought he'd be.

Lewa looks better than I anticipated. His silver claw neck armor actually looks pretty good.

Lewa's definitely a great set! Gali's still my favorite, of course, but Lewa's raised shoulders and long arms really work for him. They give him a sort of a simian look which looks great in all kinds of poses. Also, his color scheme is amazing! And his Adrenalin Mode is even cooler than I anticipated.

Yeah, the only complaint I really have about him is his lack of neck articulation up and down, since he's the Master that needed it the most, for flight poses for example.

1.) Lewa's shoulder build

2.) Kapaka's Calf build

3.) Protector of Fire chest build

4.) Protector Earth's chest build

5.) Gali's Gearbox

6.) Onua's shoulder build

7.) Tahu's shoulder build

The designers were very inspired!

What's the furthest his head can look up, by the way? Otherwise he looks pretty good. I love the raised shoulders and the shoulder armour.

I am planning to put Breakout torsos on Tahu and Lewa, I had no idea that there were any issues with it and the Superhero chest. I still don't see any issues after sticking them together IRL.

I plan on getting six sets: three Toa, three protectors, but no color repeats (only red, blue, brown, black, green, and white). Which ones should they be and why... I can't decide. Any advice?
