Mandate Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I just want a bonkle Ravenholm. These guys reseamblance headcrabs so much. Complete with an ohwunner screaming the lore of Gen1 from the rooftops? Quote
Toa of Gallifrey Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Complete with an ohwunner screaming the lore of Gen1 from the rooftops? If that means we get a Father Grigori minifigure/herofigure, then yes. I'd like to audition for the role. Quote
EdWebhead Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 They're finally in my area! I could only get one for now, so I got Kopaka, and I have to say he's way better in person. Now I need the others! Quote
TheDesuComplex Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I finally got the pamphlet in with the club magazine and catalog (which features a two-page spread of Bionicle following Star Wars). The interesting thing that I found is that the Protectors are prototypes. The Stone Protector seems to have a far more greenish color that seems more like trans-bright-green then trans-neon-green (with his weapon has a mix between a yellowish color and said greener color) and a darker brown, maybe even the normal reddish brown. The Jungle Protector's mask also seems to contain trans-brown and the Earth Protectors dark-bluish-grey. The masks also seem like they are molded in the trans color and painted up to a certain point, not blended, but that is probably part of the CGI. Quote

Yeah, I was wondering what was up with those differences. I thought it was just the CGI, but then again, I'm not that observant when it comes to colors... Quote
Phoenix_Flare Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Hum, I never thought of that, but if Ekimu is buried in the Ancient City, then the Toa will have to defeat the LoSS to enter it to get to him, and perhaps, when they will awake him, they will also awake the Skull Army. The city that he may be refering to could be the one that's seen on that one concept art with the toa overlooking a ruined city-like area( the one with the temple on the hill). It was also seen in The Legend trailer, though I thought that was where the Temple of Time was but both buildings have different architecture. See here: http://biosector01.c..._Okoto_City.jpgand here: http://biosector01.c...deo_Okoto_1.png Temple of Time: http://biosector01.c...r_Animation.png There's too many buildings and other locations on Okoto that I want to know more about ... dviddy Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) Complete with an ohwunner screaming the lore of Gen1 from the rooftops? Still think "ohwunner" doesn't really fit, since it seems in the past few months that earlier year fans are happier with the new line than latter-year fans. (Considering TLG has said they purposefully camped out in 01-03 when looking for concepts for the new line, I'm not surprised!) The city that he may be refering to could be the one that's seen on that one concept art with the toa overlooking a ruined city-like area( the one with the temple on the hill). That concept art image of them all together is one of the best images from the new line. Looks great as a full-size poster, too. I've been thinking about the potential polybag... It'd be very cool if it ended up being the trans-orange hau. It's a cool piece and it'd be neat to see everyone else with one too. Edited December 31, 2014 by Darth Vader Quote

That's what I personally was hoping it would be, since there's not much explanation for its prevalence otherwise. We'll see. Quote
Mandate Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) As cool as that would be, LEGO really needs to stop it with special editions of the Hau. It's the most iconic mask, but it'd be nice to see something else, like the Pakari or the Akaku. Edited December 31, 2014 by JayWalker Quote
Rayskull Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) My analysis of the map: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/RaySkull/STUFF/my_analysis_copy.jpg I guess the motoran abandoned the city after the mask maker's shockwave. The anvil shaped building is the mask maker's forge, I'm sure of that. Edited December 31, 2014 by Rayskull Quote

Woah, woah, hold the phone. The Okoto City Concept art image: Is it just me, or does the carving above Onua look very skull-ish and very close to what we have seen of the skull mask from the magazine? Most of it's obscured, but you can make out the jaw bones and teeth along with a brow line. Now I'm positive that the Skull army comes from the Ancient City. Quote
Mandate Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Not sure why you are disappointed as we have'nt seen the quality of the app and given the NYCC confrence the app is probably a similar style to the animations... I do believe I said, "I can feel the dissappointment already", not "I myself disappointed by this announcement". Frankly, I don't really care where LEGO drags BIONICLE to next. I'm referring to the name of the app, "Battle for the Golden Masks". The name's implication, if true, is going to disappoint anyone hoping for something like MNOG. Quote
Aanchir Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I agree that doesn't sound like it's going to be a MNOG-style point-and-click adventure game. But on the other hand, I wasn't really expecting one from the new BIONICLE. Hoping, perhaps, but not expecting. Action games would probably be a better fit for selling action figure sets. There's still hope that the LEGO Elves app might be a point-and-click adventure game! Quote
SnakeMittens Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 The one line that really stuck out from that trailer: Must... Battle... EVUUUHL Starts right at 0:16. Quote

GK733 Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) Has this been discussed? http://thegreenninja...ng-with-my-lego Yes, It's been discussed. People arguing over if it's the MoUP or not. The use of six elemental sources to create the mask indicate so. But it dosen't reseamblance the one on the legend trailer more than being black and having red eyes. I strongly believe that animation team did not get any info of the mask expect for the colours, or it was still in desgin back then. But from the business point it makes not that much sense to introduce an another legendary mask in the same year and wrap everything we have been introduced this year alone, especially when Bionicle has just got back on it's tracks. Though Takanuva and Makuta were released at the same time and later combined even in the same set. I personally believe it is the Mask of Ultimate Power, but introducing it this early and possibly giving it in the same set as Ekimu feels like a misstep. I believe they can pull it out though nicely, but seems like a missed opportunity to build "hype" on the MoUP. How many people prefer MoCr over MoUP? I think everyone does. The city that he may be refering to could be the one that's seen on that one concept art with the toa overlooking a ruined city-like area( the one with the temple on the hill). It was also seen in The Legend trailer, though I thought that was where the Temple of Time was but both buildings have different architecture. Okoto is like Mata Nui, but they forced in Bara Magna, Karda Nui, it's swamps, Mahri Nui and an old ancient city. Not that much an Minecraft enhusiast but these things on blocks would be eyecandy. Scarilian Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) The use of six elemental sources to create the mask indicate so. Everyone keeps saying this but their are only two recogniseable colours used - red and blue. While their are six cracks in the ground we cannot see any energy travelling to the mask other than Red and Blue which could be part of a larger image showing the good guys fighting the bad. I also still doubt that we'd get the Mask Of Ultimate Power in any set before we get the Mask Of Control (Under the belief we get the Mask Of Creation in Summer) Edited December 31, 2014 by Scarilian Quote
Dorek Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I don't see why we wouldn't get the MOUP, necessarily. I mean, there's always a chance that this is the MOUP but it won't actually be in a set until the next wave, since that seems to be what's going on with the Mask of Creation. Lots of variables there. Quote
Nekchir Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I don't think we're going the MoUP for a couple of years. Quote
