SoupOrFishOil Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I don't see why we wouldn't get the MOUP, necessarily. I mean, there's always a chance that this is the MOUP but it won't actually be in a set until the next wave, since that seems to be what's going on with the Mask of Creation. Lots of variables there. Didn't the page with the mask have a caption that said something about more villains in the Summer? In that case it would make more sense to tease something that will come with one of those villains. Not entirely sure why you've made it all bold... kind of defeats the point of emphasising specific words... Anyway, The Mask Of Creation appears to be this years mask likely included in the Mask Maker Vs Skull Grinder set in Summer (Given that Mask Maker is most likely referring to Ekimu) As such it seems like the following; Mask Of Creation in the first year as the Toa are battling the Skull Spiders for the Mask Of Creation and seem to have the intention of awakening Ekimu Mask Of Control would then come next logically as you'd introduce that when Makuta has returned/awakened Mask Of Ultimate Power being last, when the villain is thought to be defeated yet comes back stronger than ever In terms of how powerful the masks are, i dont see them releasing the Mask Of Ultimate Power yet as in terms of the story if you released the most powerful of the three masks in the first year then it would make the heroes or villains incredibly over-powered. The Mask Of Ultimate Power seems like an end-game thing, especially when you've introduced three masks at the same time and you have a confirmed three years of story to fill-out. I also highly doubt it was a coincidence that the mask everyone believes to be the Mask Of Ultimate Power looks nothing like the animation, despite the animation being released barely a few months beforehand. It doesnt have spikes, it has a skull-like design and it isnt the same shape. It would be really silly of Lego to advertise the Mask Of Ultimate Power as looking like one thing then changing its design completely within the span of a few months. This mask is based on a skull and most the summer villains are skull-themed as such i still support the idea that its actually Skull Grinder's mask. Which would mean they've advertised the mask of both the main hero and the main villain of the first year of Bionicle who just so happen to be released in the same set in Summer. Chro Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I don't think that the final set designs were bad or unfitting for the characters, but that'd certainly be cool. Quote

Whatever it is in the end, the skullmask is presented in the magazine like it would had been made from six elemental forces. If it isn't MoUp I don't get why they put it in that scenario to begin with. Rather a mask in the ground, a figure in the darkness. would had been much better ideas, now it's being mistaken as MoUP very easy. Edited December 31, 2014 by GK733 Quote
Quisoves Pugnat Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 And I finally acquired Onua from my local Toys R Us! Eminently poseable, especially given his size. I should think he'd do quite nicely on the disco-scene. Quote
Aanchir Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Am I the only one who thinks that Kopaka should have a skinnier, more ninja-like design and Tahu should have had a more knight-like appearance? Eh, I can't really agree with that. Kopaka's traditionally had a sword and shield, which is much more knight-like than ninja-like. Also, Kopaka has always had a very cold, guarded, reticent personality while Tahu's always had a more hotheaded, brash, assertive personality. I think the set designers made the right call in making Kopaka's design more defense-oriented and Tahu's more attack-oriented. Furthermore, I really like that the writers have given Kopaka a "Frost Sphere" shielding power to further reinforce that defensively-minded attitude. Quote
Quisoves Pugnat Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 If any of the Toa should be ninja-like, it should be Lewa. He's the only one I readily associate with litheness of limb, and the jungle is a good locale for one who prefers to keep to the shadows. I think the "winter-paladin" design suits Kopaka nicely. He's always been the most aloof of the Toa, and given his element, his heavy-gear is very appropriate. Quote
Dorek Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Not entirely sure why you've made it all bold... kind of defeats the point of emphasising specific words... I've... always done bold =P. Some people do colors, I use bold as a posting mechanism. Makes me look distinguished. I think. I'm not really seeing where the "three years=three masks" idea is coming from. Numbers seem coincidental to me; not to mention we have the scary face in the corner of the 2015 teasers (which looks nothing like the skull-face teaser), so why would they drag those sorts of things out? We don't have much context, granted, but even in BIONICLE's heyday, there wasn't much of a specific tease like that (barring the Ignika, which I'll mention below). The Ignika is basically the counterpoint to that. That thing went through so many design changes, and even once it had been finalized, we didn't see it in that specific form until the next year. Besides, the animations show a pointedly obscured image that could end up being anything. It has six points and is deliberately enshrouded. The skull-face has six points and is deliberately obfuscated by shadows. There's not much to go on, but it's not a far-fetched intuitive leap. This mask is based on a skull and most the summer villains are skull-themed as such i still support the idea that its actually Skull Grinder's mask. Which would mean they've advertised the mask of both the main hero and the main villain of the first year of Bionicle who just so happen to be released in the same set in Summer. Again, something that could be coincidental. If we hadn't seen any leaked information, we'd totally think this was the MOUP. Not to mention the "skull" imagery looks markedly different from our current interpretation of skulls, the Skull Spiders. I mean, it totally could be one of the skull villains and might very well be. But there's a lot of room for interpretation. Am I the only one who thinks that Kopaka should have a skinnier, more ninja-like design and Tahu should have had a more knight-like appearance? Well now that you say it like that I do! Then again we basically had that in 2013 with Brain Attack, so I can't really complain. Knight Furno was awesome. Quote
DraikNova Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Couldn't the reason for the colors leading to the skull mask being that the Toa* awaken the skull army by using their elemental powers? Like a sort of lock, with the goal to prevent the skull army from escaping until there are heroes ready to defeat them. *Probably accidentally, in the process of gaining access to the ancient city. And so was ninja Rocka, to some extent. I was looking at Rocka (BA) today and couldn't help but notice the similarities between him and 2001 Kopaka Couldn't the reason for the colors leading to the skull mask being that the Toa* awaken the skull army by using their elemental powers? Like a sort of lock, with the goal to prevent the skull army from escaping until there are heroes ready to defeat them. *Probably accidentally, in the process of gaining access to the ancient city. That... would actually make sense! I can see Lego doing a thing like that where the group is divided on pouring their elemental powers into unknown slots, and Tahu finally convincing them to do so. Then, there would be conflict in-team with members angry at Tahu for making the decision ti unleash the skull villains and Tahu's own guilt about releasing them. GK733 Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) Welp, it's not hard to think where the ancient city is. http://a2.mzstatic.c...een640x640.jpeg https://itunes.apple...=8&ign-mpt=uo=4 It's a neat game if smashing countless of spiders with your finger is your thing. (It's definetly not mine, I hate mobile games). Would like to see a complete playtrough though for the story reasons. Edited December 31, 2014 by GK733 Quote

Clone 01354 Productions Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Did anyone think that maybe the GWP will be a red skull spider? Like, the ones we saw in the comics..... And the app is only for Apple products?! NOOOOO!! Quote

Gatanui Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Not sure where you're getting that from? The advert clearly mentions Google Play as well. Honestly it'd be pretty stupid not to release it there. Quote
DraikNova Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 What does GWP stand for? I assume from the way you're talking about it that it is the promotional set. In that case, I think a red or purple one would indeed look nice. I'm not too sure about dark green, but just for the sake of the reactions, I half want it to be bright pink. Quote

Clone 01354 Productions Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 GWP=Gift With Purchase. And I chose red for a reason; the comics showed all of the current Skull Spiders, as well as an un-released red. Now, if I could choose ANY color? Trans-Green. Quote

Zenerius Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Features:• Build and battle as the six heroes: Tahu - Master of Fire, Kopaka - Master of Ice, Onua - Master of Earth, Gali - Master of Water, Pohatu - Master of Stone or Lewa - Master of Jungle • Dominate the battlefield with the heroes’ special moves • Quest for the long lost Masks of Power in six elemental regions • Collect more than 100 customizable pieces on your journey to the Masks of Power • 74 arenas in all the regions of Okoto • Enhance your fighting skills in the Endless levels • Take in-game pictures of your heroic fights, save the picture to your photo library. Customizable pieces? I wonder if we'll be able to construct the Toa to our own desires; if so, that would be a pretty cool feature. Quote
Clone 01354 Productions Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 (edited) Wait a minute: "• Quest for the long lost Masks of Power in six elemental regions". Does that mean that we are able to find the MOUP also? I had a thought recently: we are just ASSUMING that every year of the planned 3 year run will be finding a different mask. What if we wrap of the mask-quest story this year, and move onto something else? Just like 2001...... Edited January 1, 2015 by LN-01354 Quote
