Chro Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 (edited) Well, I stand corrected from my comment on the TTV video. I don't know for certain if these names are accurate (out of contact with source for the time being) but much evidence suggests it to be legitimate. If I had to guess I'd say that the "Lord of Skull Spiders" on the display is the Earth Protector while the real LOSS (haha) isn't pictured... but I'm not sure if that is possible based on the set numbers. I won't even start with my storyline theories right now... I agree... There was a lot of hinting in the legend reborn about the Element Lords deserting them and Mata Nui convinced they had survived... If I were to wager a guess perhaps the element lords created new and more advanced beings (I.e skull spiders) and no longer have need for Toa so they have returned to destroy their previous creation... I dunno though What? The Element Lords didn't create the Toa... also, lol gnuklear Edited July 14, 2014 by Chro Quote
TheGreatSpirit Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I'm hoping for more villains in the summer wave, because IMO, a single spider as a villain is pretty pathetic, no matter how awesome it is. Quote
MakutaDreadscythe Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Well in any case the chances of this being true are fairly high now. In any case I'm excited. The Toa Mata were my personal favourites and better yet, considering this is the return of Bionicle a few new moulds might need to come into play. New feet/shells/shell add-ons galore! And masks! Transparency for Effect Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 (edited) I still don't really have strong feelings on whether or not the line's returning (Cool if it is! Alright if it isn't), but if they are bringing it back I do hope they don't fall into a lot of the problems that plagued the original series. Especially with like... some of the really nonsensical story decisions that really only served to exclude other people from enjoying and identifying with the characters in the story, and the weird shift in atmosphere they tried to do around 2005/2006 with their "we're suddenly darker, there's death and everything's grittier." Plus, wouldn't mind some more diversity with characters and their personalities and some more unique interactions (and kicking some of the... like, really weird decisions out -- like the whole "no romance" even though... like... romance was actually heavily implied in a lot of cases and really made no sense in de-canonizing completely. Then again, there was a looooot of useless stuff canonized so.... eh, I'm sorta starting to ramble on about my least favorite years). But like, while I have all of my personal qualms with the story and a lot of things really bugged and irked me, a part of me is kinda excited to see it again. Sorta doubt I'd really spend money on it in the future, but I dunno, Bionicle was one of the first things I became a fan of and it might just be a bit of nostalgia getting all "remember the first time you got Gali and thought she was the greatest thing ever despite hurting yourself putting her together with your six year old hands"... kinda fittingly got her after going to the Aquarium at Mall of America. well that's my rambled out opinion anyhow. Would they still have to deal with the romance, gender ratio and less feminine feminine characters, because it's quite disappointing Hero Factory carried over the tradition of one female character to several. That being said, let's not go all Tumblr over this But all the remaining loose ends would have to be covered if this takes place in the future, and I have a feeling that's not going to happen Also anyone find it odd that there appears to only be one villain in the winter wave. I mean, I know it could be like a pre 2008 split, but the fact that one villain is just thrown into the winter wave seems a little odd to me (a large, spider villain to top it off). Could be the one exclusive Summer Wave set? Edited July 14, 2014 by Transparency for Effect Quote

Floundie Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Well, we are apparently getting the original Toa Mata, so for now its just going to be the same old ratio Unless it's a reboot and they decide to swap genders around. I've been looking at that first picture and I thought, what if the small sets each include a Matoran and a villain? I can definitely see some spider-like creatures in the top two boxes. That makes the Defender name make more sense. Quote

Mesonak Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 (edited) Using the CLEARER copy of the SECOND image which I obtained, I was able to cross-reference the names and set numbers provided by the Russian site to the blurry pictures/numbers on the image. A 707xx code scheme can be made out in the 2ND IMAGE, so unless this obscure Russian site is somehow in cahoots with TTV, and they predicted an odd change in the coding pattern, a personally find that BIONICLE'S return is CONFIRMED 100%. Wow. That's a fairly comprehensive list of observations. ._. Is this clearer version of the "second image" the same image that the public can't see to protect the leaker's job? Omicron Squad Leader Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 So, it seems the first wave is comprised of 6 small sets: the 'defenders,' possibly Matoran or Matoran equivalent 4 medium sized sets: Gali, Lewa, Pohatu, and the Lord of Skull Spiders and 3 large sets: Tahu, Kopaka and Onua Perhaps the summer wave (presuming this is winter 2015 rather than summer 2015) will consist of 4 medium sized bad guys, 2 large bad guys and a large Takanuva set Quote

Mesonak Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 HERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT THEORIES OF MINE: Theory #1: LoSS and, presumably, the rest of the Skull Spiders are out to collect Masks of Power for... some reason. "Defenders" are elemental guardians who protect these masks OR are Matoran mind-controlled and augmented by LoSS to combat the Toa, who are out to stop LoSS from getting the masks. Theory #2: Wave 1 consists of 6 "good" Toa, 6 "good" Defenders (again, defenders of the masks), and 1 villain (LoSS). Wave 2 would presumably consist of a ton more villains + one more hero (presumably Takanuva). Quote

Tamland Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 So this is a thing Purported BIONICLE 2015 set names. I have no experience with this website so I have no clue of its reputation but it appears to be a shopping website so that lends some credence to it. Anybody else ever seen this site leak stuff before? Translated list of names: LEGO Bionicle 70778 Defender Jungle LEGO Bionicle 70779 Defender Stones LEGO Bionicle 70780 Defender Water LEGO Bionicle 70781 Defender Land LEGO Bionicle 70782 Defender Ice LEGO Bionicle 70783 Defender Fire LEGO Bionicle 70784 Lewa Master Jungle LEGO Bionicle 70785 Pohatu Master Stones LEGO Bionicle 70786 Gali Master Water LEGO Bionicle 70787 Tahu Master Fire LEGO Bionicle 70788 Kopaka Master Ice LEGO Bionicle 70789 Onua Master Land LEGO Bionicle 70790 Lord of Skull Spiders I'm starting to get pretty hyped about these! Master_Data Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 If I remember correctly, weren't the Elemental Lords the size of an Agori? Not sure what to make of all of this. Quote
Gatanui Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 If I remember correctly, weren't the Elemental Lords the size of an Agori? Not sure what to make of all of this. Not sure where you're getting that from, they were depicted as tall in the 8th graphic novel. -Gata Quote
MakutaNocturn Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 What if they will be normal villains like Bohrok or Bohrok Va size. Quote
Dorek Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 The Element Lords were never sets, but the artistic depiction definitely showed them as being bigger than Agori. Quote
Master_Data Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 The Element Lords were never sets, but the artistic depiction definitely showed them as being bigger than Agori. I just remember from one of the story serials that they were described as looking a lot like an Agori, although now I remember the graphic novel showing that they were really tall. So I really don't know what these "Defenders" are. Quote
DuckBricks Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 If the new story focuses on the Toa Mata looking for masks, The Defenders/Protectors are probably beings that guard the masks the Toa Mata need. Like Rahi!!!!! Well, I stand corrected from my comment on the TTV video. I was thinking more along the lines of the Toa returning to protect the Agori from the ruthless Element Lords, if there was such an attack... Quote
the last chronicler Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 (edited) As I said, the sets in the second image were in order, so I'm positive the small sets are the Defenders. I find it highly unlikely that they are Element Lords considering in-story they are transformed Glatorian and large. Kopaka and Tahu and even Lewa hint at the Mata designs, so I'm thinking this is a reboot unless LEGO somehow changed the golden armor story in 2010 so that they were all changed back by the Ignika. Kopaka face looks to me like the 01 Akaku. As well, I do think there may be small spiders in each Toa set, you can see them in the corners of the box. BUT as I stated the left most set in the middle of the 1st image (beside Lewa) is NOT Gali despite the leaker stating it was blue. So I think we may have more Villain sets in the 7079x range. That being said, let's not go all Tumblr over this Actually a lot of them do have to deal with that; I would seriously love to see more female characters with personality and effort put into writing them and in as much abundance and diversity as the male cast. Romance is one of those things I just feel was an incredibly weird call on Greg's part to remove, since he writes it so heavily anyway (at least undertones) and... it was just a weird sort of thing that never made sense (then again I don't particularly care for Greg's writing and he made a lot of weird excuses for things, so). Not a big fan of the last comment? I mean, the people there are definitely parts of the fandom and definitely do have valid complaints and critiques when they bring these facets of the story up (and most of them are pretty respectable people -- at least those who offhandedly mention that they didn't like it, not so much the outpouring of disgust from a bunch of other people who jump on those offhanded critiques and try to say "you can't have this opinion" or try to write it off as a less important and worthy discussion point than... like, what set is your favorite...). There's a lot of other things I would love to see in the series itself, but I really don't trust Lego and their writers enough to pull it off that well so I won't voice them, lol. (ngl though, I kinda like the idea of Lewa being plant-life oriented than air, though I've absolutely 0 idea if that change is in the cards or not) Edited July 14, 2014 by Loki Quote
TheRedGuy Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Isn't the set with the last number usually the biggest? If so, doesn't that mean the Spider Lord thing is the biggest set? Quote
