Phoenix_Flare Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Hey happy new years to all and YAY Bionicle! I heard about the new APP and how it was now available on IOS. I went to Google Play's website and it's listed on LEGO's profile so it should be able to play for those with an Android (like me ). I'll let you guys know what I think of it too! Quote
CabooseBM Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I got some of the new sets, and I have to say WOW am I ever impressed with Onua. Solid, aesthtically pleasing, easy to articulate... And he packs an awesome function on top of that which compromises nothing! Goodness me LEGO, this is amazing! Quote

And he packs an awesome function on top of that which compromises nothing! Goodness me LEGO, this is amazing! Yeah. I can't wait to get Gali. Tahu and the Protectors of Fire and Ice, because I'm really excited that the sets willmhe released this month here in Denmark. Yaaay! @CabooseBM: I agree with you about Onua, same here and I will plan to get him at March, along with Pohatu and thw Protectos of Earth and Stone. Quote
Shakar Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) Damn...i live in Italy and tomorrow i was going in a Toy's Center to buy them but i think that here in Italy we must wait....what do you think? Word from Admiral Prime from tfw2005 is that his local "unofficial Lego shop" as he calls it is going to receive the sets on the 9th. It's a bit unusual for them to show up on a Friday (most shops here restock on Monday), but each store has its policy I guess.I'm going to downtown Padua later today, I really don't think I'm going to find the sets but it's worth trying anyway. I'm glad the February rumour is disproven at least. And just to make this post a bit more excting, holy crap I didn't realize you could do this with the blasters (I think you must not attach the yellow pin for it to work, though): Edited January 2, 2015 by Shakar Quote
Mutant Orc Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I went to the Lego Shop in Liverpool yesterday and they had all the sets in stock. With the sets in hand all the minor quibbles I had from seeing images of them have pretty much dissipated entirely. They're well worth buying! (at least all of them bar for Tahu and the PoF I dont have them so I cant comment) Quote
Shakar Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I went to the Padua (official, apparently) Lego store, it was closed for lunch break so I couldn't find anyone to ask. But there was a notice reading "New for Lego 2015 January 9th". So that should cement it. Quote
Logan McOwen Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Well, I've ordered all the Toa, along with three of the Protectors... But I accidentally ordered two Tahus! :S Quote
Scarilian Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) Seeing as everyone is talking about what sets they've ordered... Flower Wagon being the UK freeby :3 Well, I've ordered all the Toa, along with three of the Protectors... But I accidentally ordered two Tahus! :S Try calling Customer Support, they may be able to help cancel one of the Tahu's if you dont want it? D: Edited January 2, 2015 by Scarilian Quote
Shakar Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I'd keep that extra Tahu myself. He has a nice selection of red and gold parts, rare Technic pieces, silver blades (very generic and versatile) and a blue eyestalk (which is very rare compared to the lime one). I regretted buying that Tahu off eBay at first, but I decided I'm going to buy one from a store (because muh nostalgia) and build him while keeping that one for parts. Quote
Nekchir Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Well, I've ordered all the Toa, along with three of the Protectors... But I accidentally ordered two Tahus! :S Seeing you waste money brings joy to me for some reason. Quote
toatali Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Just got back from the London Stratford Lego Store inside Westfield with Tahu and Gali. The guy at the shop was very nice, and we chatted about the sets for a bit, which was nice. I am very happy with the quality of the sets, although Tahu's legs are funny - they're extremely hard to pose, thanks to the added 'leg extender' part, which keeps on snapping off the rest of the leg whenever I try to move it... Other than that, the sets are fantastic, really great, and I'm looking forward to getting more! Quote
Rayskull Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Okay questions about past Bionicle mythos: How does one kill a bionicle? Are their limbs normally swappable? What powers do the masks actually grant? Quote
mysteriouspi Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Got Kopaka, Tahu, and Gali yesterday to join Lewa; hope to pick up the last two and perhaps some protectors today. The sets are awesome; don't think I found many Gen 1 sets this cool. Quote
TheRedGuy Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Well, I've ordered all the Toa, along with three of the Protectors... But I accidentally ordered two Tahus! :S Hah, similarly, I accidentally ordered a extra Pohatu. Quote
Aanchir Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) Okay questions about past Bionicle mythos: How does one kill a bionicle? Are their limbs normally swappable? What powers do the masks actually grant? In the original story, most BIONICLE characters would die about the same way as any real creature would die: old age, illness, injury, etc. They were biomechanical rather than completely robotic. They had extraordinarily long lifespans and metal armor for protection, though. As for limbs being swappable... hard to say. Most characters COULD separate their limbs, but we only really saw this a couple times in the story: once at the very beginning, when the Toa had to assemble themselves after drifting ashore in their canisters, and again in 2003 when the Matoran learned to rebuild their bodies to be bigger and stronger. It's not clear exactly where they got the parts to rebuild themselves, though, or whether they could just swap parts with others, since officially the limbs of biomechanical characters would include organic muscles and the like. It could be that their bodies might "reject" parts from other characters' bodies, the same way a human body can sometimes reject a blood transfusion or organ transplant. Other BIONICLE creatures like Bohrok, Rahkshi, and Vahki also got disassembled and re-assembled at various points, but they weren't ever really alive: Bohrok and Vahki were fully-mechanical robots and Rahkshi were mechanical body armor for the Kraata slugs. Also, certain characters could fuse together into larger characters (either naturally or with the power of some magical device), but this was usually treated more like a magical fusion and less as them taking themselves apart and putting themselves back together in different ways. As for the mask powers, this chart describes most of them from the old story. Most of the older masks had fairly intuitive names (the Mask of Shielding creates a force field, the Mask of X-Ray Vision lets you see through things, the Mask of Speed grants you super-speed, etc). Later years introduced more complex mask powers like the Mask of Kindred, which lets you share the powers of nearby creatures, or the Mask of Disruption, which lets you make other characters' powers go haywire. In the new story, most of the masks just grant the characters greater control over their elemental powers. Though there are still some masks with unique powers, like the Mask of Creation, Mask of Control, and Mask of Time. We don't know a whole lot about what these masks are capable of. Strakk Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) It doesn't show for Italy either, but all other 2015 themes seem to be there (including Ninjago, which was rumoured to come out as late as March or April). They're existing themes though, while BIONICLE needs to be added as a separate section. I meant that if you clicked in the "Themes" section the "BIONICLE" logo with the MoCr appeared. Nevermind, now the sets are available for most of the countries (excluding Germany and Spain). Edited January 2, 2015 by Strakk Quote
