Scarilian Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I got them on December 26 (Both of them) and while Kopaka's lock together securely, Tahu's barely even hold. And Tahu's mask is very loose too.... Yeah, seems to be varied, i have blades that clip together for Tahu, yet on Kopaka they dont yet Kopaka's mask is tight. Yet my friend had loose blades on Tahu and a loose mask. Also, was that guy a few pages back making up the rumors? Because he hasn't said anything else....... Given one mentioned Red and Black villains and the other mentioned they were Tan... its likely that one is/was making up things. The newer source gave us more details from a variety of sets so i'd be more willing to trust the newer source. Though i still dont understand why they dont share the images if they have them, it would be easier to prove that you have them. Quote

He apparently saw the preliminary/finally sets in a display or something. Quote
Leewan Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Are there any numbers that could help identifying the "faulty" molds ? Perhaps you guys have the same mold numbers on your loose parts. Quote
LegendaryArticuno Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Agreed. I find them to be more secure than the '01 masks (though axle connections are by far the best for security). Wobbliness is the only "problem" with them. But it's not a huge issue, and the sets don't suffer from it, so it's hardly a problem at all. The masks are essentially hooked on loose hinges. They shouldn't be loose that when you flip them upside down they fall off... but there should be some wiggle room to move the mask slightly up and down. Overtime, I'm not sure how these masks will hold up, so I wouldn't go crazy with the flipping feature. Of course, you can always fix this with a bit of application of glue. I also wonder if they're going to use this same mask hold and head type for the 2016 and hopefully even further down the line Bionicle sets. Quote
Clone 01354 Productions Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I also wonder if they're going to use this same mask hold and head type for the 2016 and hopefully even further down the line Bionicle sets. I hope so....By the end of Gen 1, we had the Mata, Tohunga, Metru, Inika, Piraka, Glatorian, and Av-Matoran head. And really, half of those masks weren't even compatible with the others. Anyway, I quite like the current heads: robotic, yet slightly organic...... BTW, does BIONICLE still stand for BIOlogical chroniCLE? And are the characters still bio-mechanical, or are they robots now? These are actually legitimate questions. (Like, what if it now stands for BIOnic with just the -LE suffix?) Quote
MakutaOfWar Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Picked up Lewa, LoSS, PoF, and Pohatu(they didn't have Gali ç.ç) Lewa is awesome, don't mind the head articulation. LoSS is awesome, love the function. PoF is adorable. Pohatu is awesome, the legs are bleh though. I don't belong on Eurobricks. XD Quote
VBBN Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 The only mask I have noticed looseness with is the Pakari. It stays on, but there's no defining "click" when you place it onto the head at all. I, and quite a few other people I know, have all had issues with loose pins, though with Kopaka, not Tahu. Mine in particular had one with the looseness to the point of the tan friction pins. Most likely a random batch error, but an annoying one to say the least. And yeah my Tahu's swords were bent quite badly, but it was an issue with how they were dropped into the box. Though i still dont understand why they dont share the images if they have them, it would be easier to prove that you have them. We don't encourage confidential/retailer catalogue images to be posted on Eurobricks. Given that it is an illegal practice, I wouldn't be so surprised that they choose not to post them. Quote

If that's the case, than it's just a personal thing.Speaking of which, (this question isn't directed at you VBBN) we're very likely to see the summer sets at the Birmingham Brickfair right? Quote

Speaking of which, (this question isn't directed at you VBBN) we're very likely to see the summer sets at the Birmingham Brickfair right? There's zero chance of that. Brickfair isn't a Toy Fair, unfortunately; the earliest we'll see the sets is probably the Nuremberg Toy Fair on January 28th. Edited January 9, 2015 by Mesonak Quote
dviddy Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 So they're frowned upon here, but not against the rules? If that's the case, than it's just a personal thing. Posting them, which includes linking to images posted off-site, is against the rules TLG has set up for community engagement. Eurobricks chooses to ignore this rule conveniently and enforce it sporadically. Quote
TheGreatSpirit Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Don't know if this has been posted before, found it in the source code of the shop page: Nothing new, basically suggests that the skull spiders are in cahoots with Makuta Quote

I never realised how weird its going to be with the villain being called just "Makuta" again. When I hear "a Makuta set", 9 sets still come to mind Edited January 9, 2015 by TheGreatSpirit Quote

To be fair, we didn't get a Makuta set in Gen 1 until 2003. I believe LEGO will release him in the future, perhaps in 2017 for the "finale". Quote
Mandate Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 So they're frowned upon here, but not against the rules? If that's the case, than it's just a personal thing. Linking to leaked images is usually perfectly fine as far as I'm aware, posting them directly on the forums is a big no-no. Images with non-confidential stamps are perfectly fine (again, as far as I'm aware) I've lurked on Eurobricks since 2009, but I don't regularly check the rules so if they've suddenly changed them regarding leaked images I haven't heard about it. Again, per TLG's legal department, linking to leaked images violates their community guidelines. EB tightens the rules every once in awhile, but does so only when it is convenient and tends to flagrantly disregard the policy. Quote
Timeline15 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 which, in a nutshell, is why I come here rather than BZP :P Regarding the probability of makuta set, I think it's inevitable at some point. They've already appeared in the animations, which means they already have designated appearances. He's probably just gonna be 2017 or something, because, at least at this point they don't have anywhere to go after him. With any luck, something will come up, and the story will continue beyond those 3 years, but none the less, at the moment they're treating Makuta as the final villain, so they're probably saving him. MakutaDreadscythe Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Got the six toa a few days back from S@H. For the most part everything I'd hoped for, though Onua's mask is noticably smaller than the others on arguably the bulkiest character and Pohatu is blander than potato salad without mods like raised shoulders etc. Only real gripe with most of the sets is the lack of true integration between the gearbox and the chest, leaving two ball joints and for some characters (Pohatu) a somewhat disjointed appearance. Will post mod suggestions in the week. Quote

I had read your previous comment, have read quite a few more of your previous comments about this, and I remember when LEGO first started to seriously clamp down on leaks. You don't have to bring this up every time you can, y'know. Quote
MakutaDreadscythe Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 404 - Bonkles not found Very sorry for your situation. Can't help but think back to that old Piraka series on YT (sadly took down ages ago) where a backordered toa was a plot point for one of the episodes. Still, terrible situation. Quote
Mandate Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) On an unrelated note (to S@H orders) the LEGO website has been updated. The Products page has been revamped, BIONICLE is the first link, listed now as "NEW" rather than "Sneak Peak. The nice little gif they had for the link (and all the other links) have been removed, it's just a static image now. EDIT: Good news everyone! As I was searching for details on upcoming sets, I discovered a shopping website with set details for multiple lines, including the Bonkles. 70795 Mask Maker VS Skull Grinder 70794 Skull Scorpio 70793 Skull Basher 70792 Skull Slicer 70791 Skull Warrior So, basically, that guy from a few page back (sorry, can't remember your name) was correct. No descriptions of these, unfortunately. And I haven't dug around far enough to find any set lists we haven't already seen. Edited January 9, 2015 by JayWalker Quote

IRL pics don't make them to be that awful, but I did fear what you said about the "disjointed appearence", especially in side shots. I've seen some people elsewhere covering the ball joints with 3M or 4M shells, which has the nice side effect of making the figure's chest larger, but obviously it doesn't work for all Toa (I'd put those on Tahu or Pohatu, but definitely not on Lewa, Gali or Kopaka).
