MakutaOfWar Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Do you mean six legs plus two claws, four real legs plus claws or just six claws? If it's the latter, I'll be really dissapointed. The lack of claws was what stopped HF's Scorpio from being a great set in my eyes, rather than a more-or-less normal one. I do like the sound of the Skull Slicer. We haven't had a four-armed set in ages. I think Waspix was the last one. And Skull Basher (the more alliterative Smasher sounds better IMO) could be great, especially if it used the Hulk torso armor. On the other hand, I really wonder what piece they'll use for the Skull Grinder. Judging by your description, you may have just misidentified two separate pieces to be one, although the alternative sounds very appealing. Any information regarding the colors of the Skull Scorpio? XT4 was the last four-armed foe. XD Both waspix and xt4 I have taken apart recently. Need room for my Bonkles v~v Anyways the list sounds rather appealing, and yessss more purple. And a mixed color trans torso piece would sound awesome. Quote
Shakar Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 (edited) It seems everyone is forgetting Scarox, not that I can blame you anyway. : D On the subject of 4 armed villains, I think that, unless they went for a really bare bones (aeehm I'm sorry I guess) design, Skull Slicer is going to be a 20 Euro set, same for Basher. Warrior doesn't sound very complex, but it doesn't seem to be a Protector size set either, so I think it's going to be like a mid size Toa, so 15 Euro. Skull Scorpio is most likely bigger, around 25-30 Euro. The vs set is probably going to be 40 Euro like Queen Beast, with Grinder standing between Basher/Slicer and Scorpio in terms of size (since he's apparently slightly bigger than Kopaka and Tahu but he's still a humanoid). Just some speculation based on what we know about the sets and their numbering. Sorry my phrasing might sound awkward, I'm getting really sleepy.. :S Edited January 10, 2015 by Shakar Quote
GK733 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Skull warrior is possibly an another 15€ dollar set. My guess is on Skullslicer being 15$ It might have a pretty bare look and not tha much shells, but the guy has freaking four arms attached to gearbox with 4 swords. (someone should try if it even is possible, I don't have the sets yet). Basher is of course bulky and has to be 20$ set With Skull Scorpion being a 20$ it will look much better than LOSS. (hoping for a Nui-Jaga homage there) MM vs. Grinder is a 35$ dollar set. with that five dollars it was possible to include Ekimu's gearbox and make Grinder look more complete. Also, the order the sets are in seems to indicate their price, at least they did on this first wave. Quote
DuckBricks Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Toa Tahu. I meant mini-conflict within sets... The Toa's masks that have legs attached that crawl around and try and cling to their faces and control them. Ha! Quote

Probably because he's hiding behind Dragon Bolt on my shelf. XD But Queen Beast equals the 35$ price here in America, was she higher priced in European markets?(forgive me I'm a dumb American here, just trying to figure out what your all's speculation on Skull Grinder's price may be :P) Quote
GK733 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Yep, don't have the sets don't really know if the hands clash together too much but at least this guy has a lot of friction. Quote
TheDesuComplex Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 $35 seems to be the upwards price for Constraction. That has been the price of the biggest set for three years now, and it is likely going to be the biggest we see for a while. Quote

Yup, this is totally what I am expecting the build to be like! RIP in Peace Drop Ship That's why I said three years. Speeda Demon, Jet Rocka, and Queen Beast have sold pretty comfortably well at their $35 price point and I imagine Lego will keep it there for the foreseeable future. The Drop Ship... Well, I don't think for certain but I bet that it sold badly enough to scare Lego from higher price-points. Quote

Nekchir Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 I think it's about time we saw those 'tiny images' you've seen, Mr. Risgrynsgrot. Quote

Phoenix_Flare Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Speedorz? It's funny that you mentioned those because I made a Constraction Vehicle Moc of a Speedorz bike for my Human Self-MOC, Orion Stargazer. It used several Drop Ship parts too. I Called it the "Hero Factory Assault Cycle (used the HFAC drop Ship sticker for that ). I'll post pics later...Anyways, back on-topic, Even though its assumed that Ekimu won't have his hammer, I still believe he will. It's a defining trait for Ekimu due to him being the Mask Maker. Also how would a "double-sided rapid shooter work? Turning the axle would have studs fly towards you as well.... Hrrmmm.... maybe LEGO will use that one barrel piece used in the Iron Man Ultrabuild? Clone 01354 Productions Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 (edited) What do we think the chances are of us ever getting recolored Toa Masks? If LEGO announced that they would be selling mask packs next year, I'd flip....In fact, that's a great idea. They could be in blind bags (like the Collectible Minifig line), and have all different colors of the Toa Masks!!!! I would buy so many! Hear that LEGO? You have a customer willing to throw his money at you.....and I'm sure there are many more who would too. *Nudge Nudge* Edited January 10, 2015 by LN-01354 Quote

Especially given the rising costs in plastic and production (although the masks themselves are getting smaller, so that's a plus), it's usually not feasible. I imagine we'll get some recolors from time to time (like the NYCC Tahu Mask, and I'm convinced the Trans-Orange one exists for a reason) but supplemental mask packs is unlikely. Quote

I hope =P. They'll introduce specialized head pieces, probably, or maybe change the style of mask attachment, but BIONICLE G1 did those things too. Hero Factory toyed around with a number of different head and helmet styles (a damn shame the Brain Attack ones didn't see more use), so there's bound to be some experimentation. But masks have always been an integral part of the BIONICLE experience, and they've shown this in the new reboot, so I doubt they'll ever get as bad as Ben-10. Quote

If the masks are getting smaller than I would assume that means they are somewhat cost efficient. The big one piece heads never seemed like an cost efficient idea. They are made of multiple parts assembled at the factory and are so specialized that they can't be re purposed unlike Bionicle masks Quote
Mandate Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Really, I'd rather see both new masks and new heads (eg, individual ones for each Toa). Completely pointless, but it'd be a nice touch. It's never going to happen, though. Quote
Kingslayer Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Oh, I got several of the piston add-on. I also have had zero problems with mask tolerance, all the ones I own and have used stay clipped up things easily and securely. I think people are exaggerating the looseness issue, to be honest. I second this. I was expecting them to fall off by just shaking them, but they hold on for most purposes. They do come off quite easily, but honestly they arent much less secure than the 01-03 style of connection. I personally wouldnt mind seeing them tighter. It is a problem, just not as bad as a lot of people have made out. Quote
Toa of Gallifrey Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 My only issue with the masks is they always come off when moving the heads, I haven't found a good hold position for them yet. Apart from that they stay on pretty firmly and only flap a tiny bit. I also took advantage of the looser connection for roleplay. Quote
Bbrink1996 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Skull Warrior and Skull Slicer certainly sound interesting to me. Really looking forward to those. And it seems most webshops in The Netherlands now have Bionicle as available for purchase so I definitly will be taking a look in stores next week. Quote
Toa of Gallifrey Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 If they're gonna be skeletal (not just skeleton themed) I really hope they have white bones, or at least in medium stone grey (and a bone piece exists in that color already). Quote
SnakeMittens Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 A good way I found to move the heads without removing the mask is to hold it with two fingers on either side of the eyestalk, and your thumb on the mask itself. Quote
Toa of Gallifrey Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 I'll try that next time. Thanks! Quote
