Well they certainly are... interesting. I'm definitely loving the weapon pieces and Ekimu looks great. I hope the new bone pieces aren't as utterly worthless as they look and although they are skeletons, that is no excuse for the lack of armor. I'm really hoping they end up being a lot better than the initial reaction.

I gotta say, I like how the Mask of Creation goes from being regal and upright in all of the promotional imagery in the winter wave to captured and in peril when it's actually in a set. That could change with the box art, but it reinforces my "not everything is sunshine and rainbows" belief =P.

Anyone else notice that the colors don't seem to match the descriptions from London Toy Fair very well? Hopefully this is true, as those mixes of trans colors are incredibly obnoxious and while the reddish-orange might tie them together as a team it certainly does not tie the models themselves together well.

The new bone pieces are... interesting. I would much rather prefer some new shells, which we still haven't seen since 2011, but I guess this is better than nothing.

I'm also curious as to what the Golden Masks are meant to be... obviously they will not be those masks in the set, as it would be odd to Exclude Tahu and Galis masks.

Also is anyone else noticing those chain elements on Skull Slicer and Grinder? Do you guys think they'll be new?

Yeah, someone mentioned that that they looked 'really cool'-- I think said person was a AFOL. (Did I use that right? A person who's a fan of Lego products but not contraction?)

Not quite, AFOL is encompassing of all things LEGO, including contraction. Maybe the term would be an Adult Fan of System?

I'm okay with the new bones, I like exposing half a limb of bone on my MOCs....

I like skulls too and it seems I'll have many different skulls to choose from :)

I like how everybody says "guys it's preliminary, the final sets will look different". Yeah, because Kopaka from the preliminary picture looks nothing like Kopaka's final version... And Lewa? Man, I couldn't even recognise him! Pohatu? Man, he looks so different now... Oh, and remember the prelim of Furno's Jet Machine? I'm glad the final set changed so much :D And the first pics of HF's first wave? Those looked really crappy, I'm so happy the final sets were improved. Oh, and remember the early leaks of Fero and Skrimix? MAN, this looked nothing like final version! :D

Guys, those sets won't change that much... Maybe they won't even change at all. Maybe they will have 2 or 3 pieces switched. But it's not like the final sets will be completely different figures. That's why we critisize them - because we know the final version won't be that much different.

There have been only three sets that I can recall which drastically changed from the preliminary photos. Those sets are Fire Lord, Witch Doctor, and Rocka XL. All other sets typically remain close to the same. That's not to say there can't be alterations made, just nothing on a grand scale. That's why leak season is so fun; it gives us an insight into how the sets are going to look and gives us time to adjust to them before their grand unveiling. I for one think this upcoming wave looks fantastic, but I don't mind that a lot of people seem to disagree.

The critique is simply a traditional part of the community and how it operates. There;s no need to stamp it out.

I'm not saying that people should hate/critic preliminary image....i'm saying that we should wait newer images for better quality and definition...i know that final sets don t change so much from the preliminary version,but in this case,i really hope that some sets will change

The general opinion about them did get better despite the fact the sets hardly changed.

The MoUP isn't just silhouetted, it's giving off black and red flames. It also changed makuta's body black and red when he put it on. It's safe to assume it will be one of those two colours, and black seems more likely. Anyway, we probably won't know until 2017.

So really not a fan of the inconsistency that has become apparent between LoSS/the Skull Spiders and these new Skull villains-they look nothing alike. Obviously there was supposed to be a reason they were all 'skull' related but at the moment that irks me.

Honestly can't really see Warrior, Slicer or Basher well enough to judge them but the colourisations look interesting. They do look rather...'bare-bones' (sorry, had to :P) however.

Scorpio looks...eh. That tail irks me greatly. Also, it looks like he has a yellow Inika torso (hope he doesn't though).

Ekimu (come on, it's Ekimu people) vs. Skull Grinder definitely looks to be the best set of the wave. Ekimu looks glorious and so does Grinder. We get the Mask of Creation in all its glory too.

My question however-where is this?

It was used to advertise the Summer wave and does not appear to be in these sets. Then again the quality is poor and they ARE prelims, but I sincerely hope we get that mask in this wave.

Well not really... many sets were leaked and arguably came out to the same bad reception. Its a little silly to believe that the entirety of the fandom will just do a 180 when we get better pics. Better pics dont save bad sets and while the masks and a few elements may update, the colour scheme and build will likely be largely consistant with what we see here.

In addition the general hatestorm is coming from the bone pieces and the colour scheme's. While the colour scheme might change, the bone pieces will not and they are going to be an eyesaw to everyone expecting the proportions to look good. Granted it fits the Skeletal astethic but to me it seems to be an excuse to force you to buy the new sets, a new bone piece that stops the addition of armour plating in places.

I doubt better pictures of Skull Scorpio will make people want the set due to his badly proportioned build and oversized barely armored tail. Only chance some of these sets have is if they have different builds than the leaks.

Agreed, we likely have quite a while to wait before we see the MoUP in set form.

I gotta say; this next wave looks very promising. Out of all the smaller "Skull" sets (Skull Grinder is not included because that's too obvious), Skull Scorpio's fuction ACTUALLY looks fun. I'm kinda a sucker when it comes to functions (I like including LEGO type functions into my MOCs) and Scorpy-Scor (yes, that's his name that I'll call him) is no exception. I'll post my thoughts on the other sets at a later time.

That Ekimu though... *sigh* now I really wanna cosplay as him. Time to buy a lot of foam-board. A lot.

Welp, more of the Tahu show. I didn't understand the dialogue so I'll reserve judgement of the last epi till I can hear it all but the first was kinda disappointing since everything but Tahu's segment was footage we already saw.

NIce! I like that the fifth episode shows all the Toa almost equally and not just Tahu. I hope these will be released in English soon.

Okay, time to give my two cents:

Skull Warrior: Looks probably the best fleshed out of the skull villains in my opinion, except for Basher. Trans Blue doesn't look to bad. The bow looks awesome. Mask looks Witch Doctor-y. Pretty promising

Skull Slicer: FOUR ARMS!!! And loads of Trans Green! Yippee! Probably looks the least armored out in the wave. Oh well.

Skull Basher: Probably my least favorite. Aside from the horns. Horns are cool.

Skull Scorpio: Looks pretty nice; tail could use some work.

Mask Maker v. Skull Grinder: EPICNESS! Grinder looks good, very menacing, but c'mon, we're all going to get that set for Ekimu and MoCr. Ekimu with Gold Protecter mask! And new pieces! Yay!

Overall, I really don't see why everyone is upset. These look promising.

Although I'm not a big fan of the new leaks, I must say that I'm happy to see the new weapon pieces. The axe reminds me of Strakk's, which was a very nice but perhaps a bit huge weapon. I'm happy to see it in silver, because the previous one wasn't combinable with other beings.

However, I'm a tad bit disappointed as well. You see, although I can understand the potential of the new bone pieces, I would have liked it better if they just kept the old ones and perhaps made one more weapon mold, instead of the same blade and axe being re-used in most sets. I really understand that it's better to re-use the same molds in creative manners, I really do. I understand that this lowers the prices and overall it's better. But I would have liked to see more weapons in this wave and more unique molds in this line as a whole, and I really hope to see those in the future. It's just a personal preference, I understand that it might not be possible.

I however do love the Ekimu - Skull Grinder set, and I really like the Skull Basher. Those two sets look really interesting to me. Especially because Skull Basher is still heavily armoured while still retaining the skeletal look, which is something I miss in the other sets.
