Confused as to why the Mask hasnt appeared at all in the animations then. If LoSS needs it to control the Skull Spider's it should have been shown atleast once in some media...

Now that someone out there has as many as I do, maybe people will stop bugging me about them. :P

Yeah, should really try doing some MOC's using them... like these

So something occurred to me in a late-night delirium yesterday.

Do the colorful blended Toa masks from the Skull Villains qualify as... funmetal?

In all likelihood, LoSS will probably reappear with the summer villains. Its defeat was probably left intentionally ambiguous for that reason. Six villains versus six heroes. Might also see the mask of skull spiders then, anyway, as part of its revenge possibly? Could be that the Skull Spiders were acting on their own whims before, and then are later controlled by LoSS, powering them up or something?

Also, I think there's a very good possibility that the winter wave next year might be G2's last, judging by the apparently small budget. It'd give enough time to release a Makuta set, for sure. It kind of feels like LEGO isn't that confident in G2, hence why they hyped it up yet now they're not really saying anything about it. Granted, G2 already has more sets in one year than HF had in either of its last two years (18 sets, as opposed to 15 in 2013 or 2014, however we must also take into account other constraction sets e.g. Chima (6) and Star Wars (also 6, I believe?) bringing the total constraction sets each year up to 21 or 24, which... is fairly average compared to next to the average sets per G1 bonkle year. So there's nothing to be worried about in terms of set number, there's just less now because constraction sets are more spread out across themes than they used to be.)

Mata Nui has answered our wishes

Bionicle has been given a minimum three-year run. So we'll have at least five or six waves, not just three. If the sets sell well enough, TLG may extend the line and perhaps increase the budget.

Besides, let's not forget that that this first wave brought 16(ish) new molds on its own along with tons of recolours. Small budget as it may be, it's still adding a lot of pieces.

Er? Yes we have? It's on the website, where most information about G2 is? It isn't any different to G1 where we also had information on the website. That said, I do think the G1 web design was vastly superior to the G2 web design - everything on the G2 site is unnecessarily big.

Right here, in fact. Click on the thing that says 'Golden Mask of the Skull Spiders'.

That is what it does.

Not only the pictures are too large. There are so much empty black space which could had been fixed with a simple sideways slider.

My idea is that the Golden Skull Spider is an extension of LoSS' own inherent control; like a remote control for the Skull Spider horde, if you will. Another idea I have had is that it allows LoSS to directly interface with the victim's mind and review their secrets, memories, etc.

Only if they allow the user to shoot confetti at people.

You may be forgetting one thing — typical computer monitor resolutions during G1 BIONICLE were a LOT different than what they are now, and the G1 versions of the site were not scalable. So even though things on those versions of the site might seem smaller now when you look at a cached version, back then they were designed to more or less fill an 800x600 screen (back then, still quite common).

The G2 BIONICLE site, by contrast, IS scalable, so the content is designed to fill your screen no matter what its resolution. If the content seems larger, that might be partly because you have a larger screen. My current screen resolution is 1440x900 — one and a half times the vertical resolution of one of those old monitors! So it's no wonder a site scaled to my screen will appear larger than a non-scalable site designed to accommodate much smaller screens.

The new site is also designed so that it can be viewed on a mobile device, in which case clickable objects have to be big enough that you can "click" on them by tapping the touch-screen (and if you think clicking a tiny button is hard enough on a touch screen as an adult, think about how a young kid with less hand-eye coordination might feel).

Now, there are definitely some bugs in the current site design. For instance, on my 1440x900 computer screen, when I click an image that opens a pop-up information box, the text in that info box is not visible unless I zoom out on my browser. But all things considered, the layout of the old G1 BIONICLE sites simply would not work as well today as it did back then, because the Internet and the ways people access it have changed. This new site layout is part of the LEGO Group's ongoing efforts to adapt to those changes. It's certainly a lot better than some of their previous attempts at mobile-friendly site designs (like their Hero Factory Brain Attack site).

Source on this? I can't really see LEGO giving a theme three whole years almost immediately. One a half years, certainly much more reasonable. But three years? Without any indication of what the sales might be like? I really don't think that's at all likely. For all we know BIONICLE could severely underperform. (let's hope it doesn't.)

BIONICLE has been planned for three years, not necessarily greenlit. Constraction usually does what its supposed to, and I'm not seeing any budget breaking expenses (they've been keeping things restrained, apparently), so we'll very likely get a second year, and probably a third one after that.

I guess I meant planned, sorry. I think we heard that around or during NYCC, but I don't know for sure. Just something that stuck out to me during that time.

That isn't an excuse for using a large pic of LoSS's face on a single line and bottom of it some gripping and crushing via golden mask.

If anything the buttons you mentioned make poor attempt at looking buttons. The main character page is rather just a slideshow.

So what pages look good?

Frontpage is okay-ish

Storypage is done good.

Okoto works just as intended

Products could use some tweaking.

the individual character pages expect LoSS.

Build is also done good.

Like, what's your problem? It looks fine to me.

I'm just going to pop in here to say that I don't mind the website. It gets the job done.

It works but looks like it was done without greater effort.

It's not very appealing to look at.

Edit:

Why we don't have these things!

Personally i dont mind the layout of the website, but the issue lies in lack of content or things to do on the website. It needs a game or something so people will go back to the site for anything other than checking for the next animation.

Those masks are cool. The guys from RUSBIONICLE were handing them out at NYCC, I have the one they gave me on my wall. In pictures the shading is so well done they look three-dimensional. I had thought they were just fan-made but it looks like they weren't!

As far as the three years, that comes straight from NYCC. The line is planned for three years, with the option to extend based on sales.

Finally my country gets something that US doesn't ;_; I have to check if this is also in my local Lego store - that would be cool.
