arc Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 After the last few trolls the Bionicle forum got, I'm not ready to believe this yet. It's only March, so I'm thinking we won't hear anything else for a little while. That being said, a toa sized ekimu does sound pretty good... Quote
MakutaDreadscythe Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I dunno, a second wave of villains isn't implausible. They could be going a Ninjago route in keeping the same team, though how they would do this seems up for debate. Quote
Aanchir Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 (edited) I dunno, a second wave of villains isn't implausible. They could be going a Ninjago route in keeping the same team, though how they would do this seems up for debate. I'm very confident that they'll be sticking with the current Toa. With that said, it would be strange for them NOT to have new versions of the current Toa, because that would basically mean having NO versions of the current Toa on store shelves for the first half of 2014. Sets generally aren't designed to stick around on store shelves and in catalogs for more than twelve months, excluding larger sets like castles, pirate ships, motorized trains, and exclusives like modular buildings that need longer lifespans in order to live up to their full sales potential. I haven't seen any reason to believe these rumors. They sound to me like a combination of wild guesses and wishful thinking. But of course, if we do see any real evidence supporting these rumors, that will cast them in a new light. In the meantime, I think it's far too early to give ANY such rumors much credence. I'm serious when I say this, but wow. That portion gave me flashbacks to last July when another set of rumors were circulating. Not claiming these are true, I just found that to be funny. XD In all honesty, I doubt these are legit. Considering the mention of the new Star Wars leg piece after NYTF, I can't say my hopes are high. Guess we'll see come June. Quote

Unusual, it most certainly would be, but not absurd. If ever LEGO were to grant an abnormally long run to a wave of any line, BIONICLE would be one. I haven't seen any reason to believe these rumors. They sound to me like a combination of wild guesses and wishful thinking. It's funny, I find them dubious for the opposite reason. They don't entail anything as yet unseen in the way of parts, and most of the things described were present in some form at Toy Fair. Quote
Aanchir Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I'm serious when I say this, but wow. That portion gave me flashbacks to last July when another set of rumors were circulating. There's a big difference between rumors circulating six months before release and rumors circulating nine months before release. Obviously some 2016 BIONICLE info is bound to exist at this point, but it's very unlikely that we'd be hearing it at this point. Quote
Mandate Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 (edited) If the rumor is true, that means it's only aesthetic "upgrades" for the Toa. Yuck. So let me get this straight, if rumors are correct (and I'm not saying they are) we can summarize all of the Gen 2 BIONICLE sets with , and ? Warning you now, first link has some swearing, last has some sword fightsNext thing we know, they'll be assigning the characters Greek letters as prefixes edit: There's a big difference between rumors circulating six months before release and rumors circulating nine months before release. Like I said, I'm not saying that makes these true, I'm just saying that statement reminded me of July. If anything, I do doubt these. Again. Just reminded me of July, and I found it amusing. Quote
Clone 01354 Productions Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Oh yeah, I doubt the legitimacy of these rumors too, but......speculation=fun. Let's see here: Two wave of villains, back to back. In terms of story, it could add some sort of reason for the Toa to change forms: A new threat is spreading across the island, and after the Toa's current forms prove incapable of defeating the evil-ness, they get "upgraded".....you know what, that sounds a lot like Hero Factory.... Really, I hope we don't see any more versions of the Toa (or, at least, not until the final battle) since I know the "transformation" will be handled lazily. "Oh, the Toa fell into a pit of liquid, or--no, they get kidnapped by spiders and are then mutated, or--they get struck by lightning!" Quote
Mandate Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 (edited) Episode 7 now has its icon on the BIONICLE website. edit: Really, I hope we don't see any more versions of the Toa (or, at least, not until the final battle) since I know the "transformation" will be handled lazily. "once the toa had defeated skull grinder and his army and claimed the mask of Creation, it unleashes a burst of energy giving the toa stronger and more powerful forms" Honestly though, I really don't mind if we get these guys again. I'm just glad they're back at all. Quote

Aethersprite Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Give me Takanuva, and I'd happily take whatever walking guns Lego has to throw at us. In all seriousness, I think it's more likely we'd get new iterations of the Toa (Nuva please!), and I hope they bring something new to the table function-wise. The swinging arms are awesome, but I'd like to see something different. Quote
WARHEAD Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) I know it's probably not what we're getting, but the concept of animate weapons as enemies sounds really sweet to me, dunno what the problem with "walking guns" is:v Edited March 7, 2015 by WARHEAD Quote

Giving some of them wings, tails, fins and stuff would make them cool. And be called, jungle beast, water beast, fire beast, etc... Edited March 7, 2015 by GK733 Quote
Dorek Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Toa Personality Quiz for anybody who's interested. Quote
ToaDraco Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) Those rumors are intriguing. The drawings of what the poster supposedly saw is pretty cool and I kinda like those ideas and they put me in mind of ninjago's new ghost wave. I seriously doubt it's anything like what we'll get but speculation is fun! Edited March 7, 2015 by ToaDraco Quote
arc Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Toa Personality Quiz for anybody who's interested. I am onua, Arresome. Nice quiz. Quote
Creature Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I got Onua on the personality quiz as well. It had a lot more questions than I'm used to similar quizzes having. Quote
Clone 01354 Productions Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 On the quiz, I got.....Pohatu?! Ah man, I thought I was more like Lewa......Can I do quiz corrections? Also, wacky theory time: What if the Skull guys are from another island? I doubt that Okoto would be the only island on the entire planet, so it's possible that they were foreigners who wanted to conquer Okoto. Then, they were all defeated, and they were just left to rot in the Ancient City. Now, after being re-awakened, they are seeking the MOCR in order to restore their bodies and conquer the island? And this is something that's been bugging me for a long, long time: Okoto does not look.....natural. It's divided into six VERY distinct regions, so is it possible that the island was man-made? Or was it just something that LEGO did in order to make it easier for kids to understand? Quote
Phoenix_Flare Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) WOW! I'm also Onua! Which makes sense: I'm a quiet, keep to myself kinda person, friendly, and very shy in-person too (partly cause of my Autism). BTW: In terms of what locations are beyond Okoto; Maybe there was a mega-continent in the time before time - With two large mountain ranges (Western Mt of Valor and Eastern Mt of Wisdom), There could've been three giant lakes with Okoto being in the center one. This continent doesn't exist anymore due to past events though. Basically this mega continent would have landmarks that formed The Three Virtures. That would be an amazing nod to Gen 1!
