And this is something that's been bugging me for a long, long time: Okoto does not look.....natural. It's divided into six VERY distinct regions, so is it possible that the island was man-made? Or was it just something that LEGO did in order to make it easier for kids to understand? :sceptic:

Sure, Lego did this to make the story easier to understand (and elemental-themed regions exist since forever), but there can be an in-story explanation : IIRC, it's said in The Legend video that the islanders used their masks' powers to shape the island, or something like that.

But the theory of an artificial island is interesting. As long as this artificial island doesn't sit on a giant robot's face.

And I'm Lewa.

This would make sense--the island itself is laid out in a logical way (when you consider weather and the effects of mountains. Seriously, I live by mountains, and they do some weird stuff), and it's only the sharp definitions that are a bit odd--and those could have been helped along by the islanders.

I don't know.....Nothing about Okoto feels natural. Sure, each region is separated by mountains, and that might account for some drastic climate differences, but still.....And also, the mountains are completely bare. For example: from the Desert to Ice region, the mountain range that separates them has no sand, or snow, or anything on it--they're just grey rocks.......

It could just be that they wanted kids to clearly see where each region is. Or, it could be something more. Personally, I hope for the "something more".

Considering that relatively bare mountain ranges are far more common than you might think, and that excessive rainfall can, in real life, lead to one side of a range being a verdant jungle and the other a barren desert wasteland, there are only two real problems with Okoto:

1: The fact that the way mountains do this is dependent on wind makes a six-fold division impossible.

2: Ga-Okoto.

Don't forget, we're told the Protectors used the Masks of Power given to them by Ekimu and Makuta to literally shape the island... the mountain chains were possibly an intentional construct by the villages for whatever reason.

I'm Lewa.

Honestly thought I'd be Kopaka.

The quiz is obviously 100% foolproof you are now Lewa.

I am Onua, Master of Earth.

I always stand firm yeah i'm not doing this

You will use this sig and you will LIKE IT.

I quite agree with you on this one. It feels almost as if game designers created six different environment designs and stitched them together, rather than one island with regional diversity in it.

One other thing I felt is, while the G1 felt like it took place on ancient New Zealand / Hawaii, G2 feels like it's taking place in either Aztec or Maya. THERE ARE SO MANY RUINS!!!

When was this mentioned? Someone said it was the Legends video, but I've just checked and it doesn't say that

You need to know that I saw this picture and then read your signature under it as if it were Lewa who said those words. I mean, considering his facial expression...

EDIT: Got the Hero Pack today. It's also very shiny.

It was stated in the Lego Club magazine spread about Bionicle.

Many thousands of years ago.... The island of Okoto was a place where villagers lived in harmony with each other and their world. Two brothers, Ekimu and Makuta, used the natural elemental forces of the island to forge masks for the Protectors. The villagers used their masks to shape the island to suit their needs.

Mask of Creation has been taken down.

I was actually considering doing that at first

I've been oogling at how the trans-orange Hau looks on Tahu under blacklight.

somehow I got Tahu

"I AM THE MASTER OF FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIYA"

Thought I would be an onua or gali but apparently my temper prevails.

Okoto reminds me of the Slizer planet. Its kinda cool to have such a drastic island because it makes each region more "extreme".

That is amazing. :cry_happy::drool:

You should see his blog, then:[blog=http://faberfiles.blogspot.pt/][/blog]

There were people saying this about kids back when G1 came out. In fact, people have been saying things about "kids these days" for ages.

True, and I loathe myself for falling into the cliché.

Really, I hope we don't see any more versions of the Toa (or, at least, not until the final battle) since I know the "transformation" will be handled lazily. "Oh, the Toa fell into a pit of liquid, or--no, they get kidnapped by spiders and are then mutated, or--they get struck by lightning!"
Likely case scenario Ekimu will be making everyone new gear.
"once the toa had defeated skull grinder and his army and claimed the mask of Creation, it unleashes a burst of energy giving the toa stronger and more powerful forms" :tongue:Honestly though, I really don't mind if we get these guys again. I'm just glad they're back at all.

The new gear or the Creation burst (if it's a deliberate move by Ekimu to prepare them in the battle against Makuta and not just a random power burst) sound more likely. But I really think a new set of heroes to accompany the Toa is the more obvious choice: Hero Factory and Exo-Force repeated their main characters wave after wave with little to no changes, and see how long they lasted! :hmpf_bad:

And it may be just nostalgia talking, but mutations induced by strange liquids or mutagenic venom don't soud really contrived to me. Lightning, on the other hand...

BTW: In terms of what locations are beyond Okoto; Maybe there was a mega-continent in the time before time - With two large mountain ranges (Western Mt of Valor and Eastern Mt of Wisdom), There could've been three giant lakes with Okoto being in the center one. This continent doesn't exist anymore due to past events though. Basically this mega continent would have landmarks that formed The Three Virtures. That would be an amazing nod to Gen 1!

I really, REALLY love that idea. Especially the naming of the mountain ranges. :grin_wub: Would the other lakes have islands in their center as well?

Care to post a picture?

Regarding Okoto's (un)naturality: yes, it was mentioned that the Villagers shaped the island to their needs, and the clear division is probably a nod to the Slizers as BIONICLE's "ancestor" of sorts. Still, I hope there is some kind of great reveal, such as the island being a hive mind, or a terraformed Magitek living spaceship (but no GSR again; this line has introduced way too many new things to fall back into an old plot).

Crazy thought about the walking weapons rumor: maybe they're enemies/companions/collectibles packed with the real sets, like the Skull Spiders before them? If their build doesn't use too many pieces, it's possible.

The idea of someone narrating the event is starting to grow on me. I'm even starting to imagine the final episode:

After defeating their final enemy, the Masters strike a victory pose (possibly similar to a certain iconic comic cover...), which then fades away into stone effigies of the cast in the same disposition within a familiar sand circle. The camera zooms out, revealing the entire story to have been acted out by the narrator (possibly the Fire baby now turned Protector) to a group of children, using the stones as representations of the characters. The narrator then discusses that the old legends and destinies have ended, but new ones must be made by each and all of them. "For that is the way, of the BIONICLE!"

Oh, and I got Onua. Speaking of it, many people seem to be Onua around here.

'Fraid I can't find my camera and I don't like using my 3DS for pictures, but here's a picture from BZP's review on the Hero Pack. (not with it on him but close enough)

Me and two of my friends (who aren't familiar with Bionicle) got Onua in this quiz. I'm kinda doubtful if Onua's description really suits me, but hey, whatever.

No, it hasn't.

It had been at the time.

If only there were Toa ragdolls on GMod or Source Filmmaker to make a machinima of that. xD
