I made him!

He's actually a really great little figure. Fun to play with! C'mon Lego, we need poly-bonkles!

Baby Protector has arrived. Maskless, but baby protector nonetheless.

Agreed, we need polybags. While I never managed to nab any when they came out way back when, I did enjoy their obscure looks. The 2008 Good Guy with the little helicopter backpack was my favorite. Aside from Turaga Lhikan, of course.

But I digress.

On the episode, I'll agree, some of the voices were a little off. But I can forgive the guy. It's one dude, most likely an unprofessional voice actor, doing the voices for, what? Seven characters? Eight including his normal narrator voice.

As much as I'd like more variation, I have to cut the guy some slack.

Got gali today. Wasn't planning on it, but my target had a bunch for half off, so I couldn't resist. The colors are a little odd, and so are the shoulder pads, but overall very nice. New mask of water is awesome.

I hope not, but of course he will become leader. I mean, every single Toa team was lead by a fire-character--and really, the same applied to the Turaga also. Also, they've dedicated half of the episodes to Tahu, so of course he's still the most important. :hmpf_bad:

Yeah, I felt that way too. I had such high hopes after the Italian version, but now.....He sounded exactly like the narrator, and he was way too serious.

He actually sounds a bit creepy to me. Something about the slowness of his voice and the way he says things is just... weird.

Oh dear... you just opened up a possibility I hadn't considered. Fingers crossed that none of the Skull villains have voices :look:

Episode 7 is now on BIONICLE.com, and Episode 8 is listed. We're almost done....

inb4 summer episode leaks

Well, LEGO isn't even trying to pace themselves anymore. We're not even out of March yet, and already we have 7 out of 9 minimovies available.

I think the narrator would be pretty good at it, since the only voices he does sound angry and/or creepy.

Yeah, I don't understand. When the episodes launched, we got 3 episodes at once. Then we got one per month, now two per month....And the episodes were leaked months in advance. With LEGO's carelessness, the winter 2016 episodes will probably leak soon.

BTW do we know who the narrator is? (In real life...?)

EDIT: Episode 6 has been fixed--the Pohatu and Onua clips were switched around, so the narrator now says "stone" for Pohatu, and "earth" for Onua, like it should be.

I didn't think the fan outcry was that much. Sure, it's only a simple alteration to the audio clips, but still. Well, it shows that LEGO isn't going all la-dee-da about this like they have with NINJAGO.

Hey, it's things like that which convince me that they care, unlike what people say. They could have easily left it, but they bothered to go back and change it. That's nice.

Anyway, Pohatu be all like "shut up guys I'm trying to look off heroically into the distance"

I'm not sure if the new Pohatu is going to be a cool-guy who works alone, or just a jerk who hates the other Toa.

But it's weird; Kopaka and Pohatu seem to have switched personalities from Gen 1: Kopaka was always the reserved, "I-work-alone" type of guy, and Pohatu was the outspoken one, but now they are completely reversed. I like it, but it's going to take some getting used to.

Eh, I think those parts are still mostly the same. Kopaka's attitude at it's core is still "I don't feel feeling who said I did" and Pohatu is still very much the "we all gotta work together guize".

Only this time he's, y'know, actually saying it for a reason.

Still very much a friendly guy? Came across to me more as "Shut up you idiots, we don't have time for this".

From what I've seen of Pohatu in the earlier years of BIONICLE he just liked having people around him and wanted to make sure everyone had a good time. Or at least, the most you can when you've got giant red and blue mechanical chickens trying to eat your homeland. Now, he's just shallow. He didn't even join in the banter between the Toa, he was just staying on guard and only speaking when it was of the utmost importance.

Well, he was convinced that they all needed to work together as a team; yeah, in particular, he did it by being overtly cheerful. In this case, he was letting them sort out their minor interpersonal squabbles while he looked out for the oncoming threat. "Big picture" kinda guy, as it were.

What Pohatu's incentive for not joining in while they were bickering is very subjective. There's multiple ways of looking at it. It could be seen as ignoring the others, it could be seen as being mission-oriented, it could be seen as him being a good friend and keeping his eye open in case of danger, it could be seen as staying away from the others because they smell, and it could also be seen as what you said. It could be seen as any of these things, even all of them.

Anyway, what's become of that weird 4chan thing from a few pages back?

Totally using this as my new computer background.

Anywho, on Pohatu. I don't really picture his as big jerk. I view him as observant and only speaking when it's important. He didn't care about their fighting, and only spoke when a bigger issue arrived (LOSS).

So... Batman.

I dont particularly mind the new development for the characters. After all if it is a full reboot then the characters do not have to be the same as they once were. Though i admit the quarrel between the Toa seemed a little force to me at the time and it was not really resolved as to who would be leader, instead with the group being distracted by LoSS. As for the narration, i still dont particularly mind it as it gives the sense the story is being told by a father-figure character to a child, which appears to be the direction of new Bionicle in my eyes, passing down the legend to the new generation.

Though i do hope that should we ever get a Bionicle TV series, that it eventually does give the characters individual voice actors, it just helps give them more character in how they speak and their tone. In the meantime their are

to listening to a single voice actor voicing the roles, however i suppose its a matter of personal preference.

I got Kopaka last Friday, and wow he's great. My favourite Toa so far, though I'm still missing Onua so that might change. I was planning to mod him a lot, but in the end I just tweaked the weapons, added some details, gave him a white torso shell and made him leaner and taller.

There a lot of things that bugged me and I wanted to change but ended up liking once I built the set: the white piston add-ons over the gold shells, the big upper leg shells, the lower legs. Another nice surprise are the stickers: I thought they were grey and black, turns out they're silver and dark blue instead!

It's crazy how many concepts the figure manages to combine together flawlessly: a Roman hoplite, a Space Marine, an Inuit hunter and.. well, Kopaka. Honestly one of the best constraction sets in years, or maybe even of all time.

Roman hoplite

Uh, hoplites were from Greece, not Rome

I do agree with you though, Kopaka is an awesome set. I got bored of him though and currently he has no arms until I either buy a spare Toa or finish the MOC I'm working on.

Personally i never saw it as any of those things other than Kopaka :P Though i do admit that i liked it and in terms of a fairly pure CCBS set (Other than the gearbox) i think its one of the better ones.
