If only some of those shells were smaller, so they could just be swapped easily for Pohatu's silver shells... but it's still a fantastic selection. Edited April 15, 2015 by Lyichir Quote

Mixing them up with some of the dark orange ones should create a sort of balance in sizes. And t'll make him a bit bulkier, which he kinda needs. Quote
Shakar Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 If the story team decides to add a Takanuva at some point (and twelve years later and I still hate how awkward that name sounds, required to protect the "twist" in the story or not), this is exactly how I hope they do it. Homaging his Takua colours on his chest print is brilliant. That said, I'm not sure if conceptually Takanuva works in the new story, at least not yet, for the reasons you've also stated. We're missing the thematic resonance, and it's hard to see that being added yet. Thanks! I really hope we get more printed chests in the future. Sure, a new chest armour element would be more than welcome, but I just love the print designs we're getting this year. They add a lot of character and use some really beautiful colours (those metallic lines!).Yes, that is what I meant. Also, Takanuva's story could happen in G1 because it estabilished that Matoran could become Toa. That element is missing from G2- Protectors might not even be related to the Toa at all this time. Not that it prevents a Seventh Toa plot from happening on a more metaphorical level. He can still appear as a fully developed Toa without a physical transformation occuring, while the "path to become a hero" theme/plot can still be carried out from a characterization perspective (e.g. A powerful but immature and/or amnesic hero who manages to fulfill his potential). Agreed on the Takanuva name. It always feels awkward, to me at least, when a character decides to permanently change their name like that, especially when the new name is so odd sounding. I just prefer to think of him as (Toa) Takua... Grievous looks AMAZING: https://twitter.com/...357043670487041 Obi-Wan Kenobi looks a bit weird below the waist, but those new shoulder pieces more than make up for it. Those are fantastic. Off to write a more detailed post in the right thread.. Quote
Scarilian Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) So by my count thats around 5 new CCBS pieces with the Star Wars Ultra Builds that could be reused with the 2016 Bionicle sets. The Galidor style leg shell piece definitely seems to be something we'll see, but wonder what else from those sets will pop-up in the 2016 sets. Grievous looks AMAZING: https://twitter.com/...357043670487041 Obi-Wan Kenobi looks a bit weird below the waist, but those new shoulder pieces more than make up for it. Personally not a fan of Grievous, especially given how 'filled in' Vader looked compared to him. Feel they could have done a better job. Though he seems good for tan pieces and the black rib-piece is definitely worth it. Will need to modify him though... Edited April 15, 2015 by Scarilian Quote
The Outsider Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Those are not only Bionicle themed MOCs by "masterbuilders" as stated in these two dA pics: http://brutechieftan...uster-523647682 http://brutechieftan...usher-523887048 Damn I miss vehicles. The models on display at a LEGO store mean absolutely nothing. Until this year LBRs had a policy allowing one window to be relegated to a rotating fan display, usually in conjunction with a local lug. For half of December to mid-January the Tigard store in Oregon had a Tahu model I built amongst other BIONICLE MOCs I had built on display. The stores don't police the models that go in, outside if making sure they are appropriate and don't contain adult content. Having a Takanuva and Makuta battle on display literally means nothing for the line. Shame; I miss vehicles too! Grievous looks AMAZING: https://twitter.com/...357043670487041 Obi-Wan Kenobi looks a bit weird below the waist, but those new shoulder pieces more than make up for it. That leg armor...the shoulder pieces...the new torso... Please use that for BIONICLE 2016!!! Okay, maybe not the torso... Not that it prevents a Seventh Toa plot from happening on a more metaphorical level. Well, Takanuva or not, we're going to need new hero characters soon. Quote
Kalhiki Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 That leg armor...the shoulder pieces...the new torso... Please use that for BIONICLE 2016!!! Oh wow. I was so focused on grievous that I didn't even notice Obi Wan's shoulder armor. Please bring that to Bionicle. Please. ... Hmm.... Y'know that shoulder armor might be pretty useful for female characters... It's got some nice curvature to it. Quote
Scarilian Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Sexy concept art for the individual regions. Words cannot express the disappointment that we have not seen more of these regions yet. Onua's Earth region for example is beautiful Quote

Bigger Fish Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I really wish LEGO made an Okoto Online Game when I see things like this, it could have really worked on the iOS devices. Quote
mysteriouspi Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I really wish LEGO made an Okoto Online Game when I see things like this, it could have really worked on the iOS devices. Obviously that hasn't been stopping the fans, has it? ;) Part of what makes BIONICLE great is that the fans expand the scope of the universe. Since TLG's not developing Okoto as much as we would like, we have the opportunity to do so. Seeing all the Gen 2 stuff that's been made so far (OOG, Rahi of Okoto, mods, MOCs, etc.) is pretty great. Anyway. I like that the Star Wars constraction line is running alongside BIONICLE. Both lines will (hopefully) give each other new pieces and recolors on a regular basis. Especially if the Star Wars line continues beyond the first two waves. Quote

Vinyl Scratch Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Man Onua's region is sweet. there's so much great potential in this storyline. Quote
Clone 01354 Productions Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 So much tan on Grievous! And also, anyone else notice how he has the same torso as the Skull guys? ANYWAY....That concept art is amazing. I love Onua's for the contrast, and Pohatu's for the desolation. BTW would Grievous count as a Titan-sized set? Quote

Yeah, definitely seems to be good for providing some new unique pieces and recolors, i specifically like the black rib-piece, was worried we would'nt get that piece in black. Though i have'nt heard of a second wave of Star Wars... all i know is the following; Star Wars Jango Fett (75107) – £14.99 Star Wars Clone Commander (75108) – £14.99 Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi (75109) – £19.99 Star Wars Luke Skywalker (75110) – £19.99 Star Wars Darth Vader (75111) – £24.99 Star Wars General Grievous (75112) – £29.99 (Four of which have been revealed with Jango Fett and Clone Commander still unnacounted for) Source for prices; http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-star-wars-constraction-ultrabuild-characters-revealed/ BTW would Grievous count as a Titan-sized set? Personally i'd consider him a titan-sized set, despite my issue with the figure, his size and scale are what i'd consider a 2015 CCBS titan-sized set. Darth Vader i'd also maybe consider a titan set mostly due to coverage of parts and possible complexity of the body Edited April 15, 2015 by Scarilian Quote

Kalhiki Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 That is some sick concept art. Jungle and Earth Regions are easily my favs. Quote
