Timeline15 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) Gali almost looks like she uses the trans-blue from stormer and frost beast. I also notice that the toa all seem to have their original eye colours... could this mean we're getting 6 different colours for the head under the masks? I certainly hope so. I was disappointed when Bionicle switched to just the trans neon yellow eyes for good guys. And yeah, It's possible summer will focus on villains if we're truly returning to Bionicle's structure. MakutaDreadscythe Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Holy megabloks...I thought I'd never see the day. ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN! TOOT TOOT!! Quote
TheBatstan Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 I still don't think that the gold on Kopaka's face is his Akaku, it just looks really odd. Quote
King of Nynrah Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 So, is this more likely to be released early next year or summer? Quote
Timeline15 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) next year,we already know this summer's sets. (wave 2 of invasion from below, e.g. queen beast). Edited July 25, 2014 by Timeline15 Quote
Mask_of_Death Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 But early to be thinking about that! It's not even fall yet! Well, not that early. I find it interesting how all the masks have been redesigned. I wonder how much they will bear resemblance to the originals when the finalized pictures come out. Quote
Kalhiki Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Only thing I don't like is is that there is apparently just the one villain (like the leaked names suggested). Oh well, maybe thats the focus of the summer wave. But there isn't just one villain. Each set comes with a "Skull Spider". And the Lord of Skull Spiders can only be the leader. So technically, why there's only one villain set, there are still more villains than there are good guys. Quote
Cryokina Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 The weapon on Fire Defender's shoulder is used in all the Defenders. It seems to be a match for the "rapid-shooter" found in the Star Wars Wookiee Gunship set that was unveiled recently: http://brickset.com/sets/75084-1/Wookiee-Gunship Quote

Zenerius Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Tahu appears to have two orange Brain Attack blades. I am still wondering what the mask at the top is. I REALLY hope they have those rapid shooters. The Cordak blasters were decent, but I bet these guns are more efficient. Quote
Shakar Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) The Hau and the Pakari are very similar to the classics. The Miru seems to lack the original's glorious troll smile but they got its eyes down. The Akaku has too many holes, but it seems faithful enough. The Kaukau is completely different- almost like a movie version Kaukau Nuva. In general, I feel as these were movie versions of the Toa Mata. You know, like the ME Khraakhan but on a whole set scale. And..I don't mind that much really. Gold aside, all colour schemes seem to be faithful (aside from Onua's purple, but do you really think I'm going to complain about that? :P). Gali's is weird though. I don't mind her having a lighter shade of blue but she has so much black/titanium metallic and... yellow? And..last thought. It seems like the minifig vs constraction figure pattern is being kept in a way, actually. Each set DOES contain a conflict between a big figure and a smaller one: Toa/Defender vs spider. SmoothJazz Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Do Onua and the Earth D. feature.. ..trans purple? It certainly looks like it. I... must... have.... Quote
TheGreatSpirit Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 I just realised this is kinda a reversed IFB, with smaller monsters up against big heroes (except without mechs) Quote
Mesonak Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Aaaaaaaannndd the TTV link has already been removed. That was fast. Wait, what? Quote
TheGreatSpirit Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Wait, what? Ignore that, it's back now Quote
King of Nynrah Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 next year,we already know this summer's sets. (wave 2 of invasion from below, e.g. queen beast). I meant winter next year, or summer next year Sorry for the bad wording Quote

That doesn't bode well for HF, since they're kinda taking the same approach...And is it just me or are the Defenders really small? As in, chibi-ish in proportions? Hopefully they use the XT4 torso.. Perhaps the most disappointing thing, to me, is the fact that we aren't getting any new torso or chest armour. It's the 2.0 torso AGAIN. I'm really starting to hate that piece.. Timeline15 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 did you not notice the new torso armour on the defenders? look t the fire one. looks new to me :) Quote
Zenerius Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) The spiders all use the same mask, but with different colors..... Black, blue, green, and white.... Collectable masks, maybe? Sorry, I just really want mask collecting. Edited July 25, 2014 by Zenerius Quote
Mesonak Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 You know, I still just cannot get over how pleased I am that the Earth figures use some variant of purple. Onepu's forgotten legacy lives on! Quote
Zenerius Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Onepu's forgotten legacy lives on! Not just Onepu, but Huki as well! Looks like the stone sets use a tan (or white?) secondary color, as well as a burnt orange/brown primary color. Quote
Dorek Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 did you not notice the new torso armour on the defenders? look t the fire one. looks new to me :) Aanch mentioned that it looks like like Toxic Reapa's combining of 3m shells, and I gotta agree with him there. I don't see any purple on Onua, though. Quote
Timeline15 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 I see 2 shells on the upper torso, but what's the bit going down the middle? The only piece that looks remotely like that is the 1.0 foot, and I doubt they would use that :/. Time will ell I guess Quote
Shakar Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) Putting things together, only the bottow row Toa have gold actually. Lewa doesn't (that tan/gold shade is featured on the -sigh- Jungle Defender too), Pohatu doesn't, Gali doesn't (that's yellow, just like on the Water Defender's turbines). And heck yeah, black Hulk chestplate! You know, I still just cannot get over how pleased I am that the Earth figures use some variant of purple. Onepu's forgotten legacy lives on! I remember cannibalizing the Nui Jaga to equip Onua Mata with some purple bits..heh. Who would've seen that coming! Edited July 25, 2014 by Shakar Quote
