Well, you have the Toa who don't remember their past, and Slicer who was made to forget his, so I'm pretty done with amnesiacs at this point =P.

Ugh, I completely forgot! Maybe I have some of that amnesia. XD

Also on the staff/Makuta resemblance maybe it's intentional. It is the Mask Stealer staff, and Makuta is the Mask Horder, and he would have to steal the masks to horde them? XD Also, if the MoUP is lost why would Makuta still be evil? Unless it's residual, I guess.

They did describe Makuta's attempted rebellion as stemming from jealousy over his apparently inferior creations, so he could just be evil deep down anyway. Likely they won't get that deep at all regardless.

You guys should try using the HF Fangz's printed 4 & 5 sized trans shells in combination with the Toa/Protector piston piece! It looks AMAZING!

But to stay more on topic: I'm guessing that the set's WILL come out on the 1st of August? If so.... THAT'S PERFECT! I'll have enough money to buy all 5 Skull Baddies (and Ekimu too!)! And then it's saving the remaining $250 to build my army. AWWWW YEAH.

Well, I've just received notification from my Mother than my parcel from Amazon has arrived, so that means I officially have the skeletons! Only issue is that I'm at work right now, so I'm gonna be sitting here jittering like a Chihuahua, itching to get home... All day.

Just got Ekimu vs Kulta, and I have to say, I'm very impressed. Ekimu and the MoC are the highlights of the set, but Kulta, despite the gap and the posing difficulties, looks imposing and pretty cool. My only other issue is the stiff ball-joints, which would annoy me a little if I played with the sets rather than posed them. Other than that, I highly recommend the set!

Everyone's enjoying their summer sets and I'm just sitting here being an American...

Anyways, anybody think the other Skull villains have actual names, or the Protectors?

Posted

Should be getting these within 5 days or so, though apparently according to Lego's customer service some deliveries may be delayed due to shipments being delayed because of the channel tunnel disruptions (Personally i thought they'd have stock of the new sets here already, but seems most have not arrived yet)

BTW, some of Skull Basher's descriptions says "Dieser ehrfurchtgebietende Krieger wurde vom Totenkopf-Brecher erschaffen... "

That means he is also created by Kulta like Skull Scorpio =O

Beginning to question if being 'created by Skull Grinder' is simply a different way of phrasing that they were resurrected by Kulta/Skull Grinder using the Mask Of Creation - given that he's essentially reviving them using a mask designed to create?

Anyways, anybody think the other Skull villains have actual names, or the Protectors?

  • Skull Slicer's name is likely lost due to the amnesia
  • Basher and Scorpion seem to have the description implying they were 'created', depending on what this means i'd hazard that they likely wont have names
  • Warrior seems to be a template for a generic army, as such i doubt he has a specific name, best we could hope for is one that is given a name as leader in the books or something.
  • The Protectors probably have names, though given there limited inclusion in the Winter Wave it probably was not worth getting to know them as characters. If they are planned to return for more than just one more wave, then they'll probably get names

So they uploaded the Canadian version of the Club magazine, and it does not have any of the BIONICLE information that the NA one apparently has. There's occasionally slight differences between the two, but still. An interesting omission.

Note that the Canadian Issue 3 is labeled June–July instead of July–August in the URL. Since the official release date for the summer BIONICLE sets in North America is August, it makes sense that they wouldn't show up until issue 4.

Not sure why it's labeled that way... maybe Canada only gets five issues a year instead of six?

Huh, so it is. Last time they uploaded them all at once, and a few days before the official release, so I assumed this was the case here as well, but I guess they're actually getting to this one later in the cycle.

Maybe they do only get five issues a year? I thought last year they received the same number, so maybe that's a new thing...

No Bonkles in Denmark yet, but I'll have to wait one more month (I'm in vacation in Turkey), but I'm planning to get Slicer. Basher and Ekimu vs. Kulta sets.

So the inventories for the new Bionicle sets are up on Bricks and Pieces... but every single new piece is unavailable to buy (and all of the pieces released in June are still unavailable despite multiple promises from LEGO they would be available by now). Seriously... why do I even bother complaining about their lack of availability to them? They never act on it

I just got Onua Mistika (who I lost) from a friend who had two. I was surprised to see some resemblances with the new 2015 Onua when I placed him beside my other Onua.

I didn't slip. XD

Nope, the penguin was clearly stretching.

Have you tried to call them to order your parts or did you try online ?

Well I just took advantage of some VIP rewards I had from buying modular buildings and bought Slicer, Warrior and MM v SG, the reason why I got them now was because of the pirate freebie that's on offer and seeing as its a good freebie to have and I have all the pirate sets (except the boat which I wasn't keen on- I have my own WIP anyways) I decided it'd be foolish to miss out. So they should arrive soonish and so I'm happy  .

What struck as I bought them though was how odd it is to be buying them before the surfacing of reviews here on EB. The reviews always seemed to be well in advance before, strange how TLG didn't dispatch any review copies for these, not that it matters much I intended to get them all.

Well, I tried online for the Bionicle parts (it'd got too late to call them), but I have tried calling them in the past (not about the new Bionicle parts but parts from the Ninjago sets that I wanted), but only got a (false) promise that the new parts would be available by mid June, saying there was problems. To be honest, I don't see the new Bionicle parts being easy to order by any means. All I wanted was some extra "bone" bones for my Skull Scorpio mod and some extra Skull Grinder horns :look:

I sent them an email asking about their availability anyway, so we'll see what they say to me this time. Even just a note on Bricks and Pieces saying why 99.9% of new pieces (including all Bionicle pieces) are currently unavailable would be a good thing :look:

Well, by any means, looks like I'll definitely be picking up some extra Bionicle sets from the LEGO Store when I visit Brighton to meet a friend next weekend then!

Lewa and Gali are similar to their Phantoka/Mistika counterparts too and Tahu to his golden armor. Pohatu has kind of same-y weapons. Kopaka has really no resemblance to his Phantoka form at all.

That's strange, I've only ordered by phone once, and that was in December because I wanted some BIONICLE parts early, and it worked. Perhaps they had a bigger stock at the time, though. Anyways, if they're available, tell me, I need to order a couple extra Masks of Creation so I can have chrome gold MoCr's.

O.o In which way ? Gali G2 looks in nothing like Gali Mistika. Gali is the manliest of the Mistika, while Gali G2 actually looks feminine, and their colours, weapons or masks, aren't even close. Okay, maybe the colours, because there are a few silver parts on Gali G2, but still, they're extremely different.

I think he meant in terms of the mask having a pointed chin, compared to the previous two Gali masks which had a squared-off jaw.

Seeing Onua Mistika next to Onua Okoto makes me really glad CCBS is a thing. That's only my opinion, of course.

I'm only planning on getting MMvsSG but my subconscious occasionally craves the others as well. Though MMvsSG is my favorite one; the detailing on the MoCr is great and the figures look pretty good too.

Sorry, I am not able to use PMs yet, but how so? Is it too big?

To each their own, I guess. :) Funny thing is I like Onua Mistika now way more than I did in 2008.

Her shoulder armor is raised up, they are not huge pauldrons like on G2 but it's still notable. Also for continuation theory, the thrusters on her legs could have turned into fins.

I didn't think about the jaw of the mask first but that's one thing too.
