This.

This so much.

I can't help but wonder how he would be priced since he's essentially a two pack. $25-30? seems a little pricy, perhaps that's why he was dropped. Still though, it would have been cool if the Brothers were a combiner model.

In other news the mask maker challenge has come to an end.

These are some pretty cool looking masks, I wonder if their designs will be released someday?

I quite like the winners, especially the first place one. Definitely more inventive winners than some of the BFTGM ones (although some of those were really cool too!).

Doubtful. The winners would have to sign a release of some sort permitting LEGO to use the mask designs, and if the LEGO Group intended that to happen they'd probably have put it in the Terms and Conditions.

But yeah, I'm really impressed with the winning entries! If anyone's wondering, the grand-prize winners were Siercon & Coral (Sean and Steph Mayo).

I find it hilarious that the winners of a BIONICLE contest never even mention BIONICLE amongst their interests.

First place looks great! I wish that was a real mask.

I can definitely get behind this chosen as a winner... and couldn't they sign it afterwards, who wouldn't want that? I really would like to have it as an actual mask of a set, it even fits the theme of the villains we have so far quite well.

Yeah, Sean and Steph aren't primarily Bionicle builders, though they are known to use all kinds of different parts in their creations, including Bionicle and Hero Factory parts. I think it's quite cool how this contest inspired people from both the Bionicle community and the LEGO community as a whole to step outside their comfort zone and try building something that LEGO fans rarely build (a wearable mask).

I approve of the winners. Much better than anything I could have made (didn't enter the contest).

Oddly enough, I gotta say the third place winner is my favorite. Love the color scheme, and the giant eyes and toothy mouth is downright terrifying.

... Huh. Just realized how appropriate a time it was for this contest. Halloween masks, anyone?

Seconded. It would have been awesome to see a tag-team duo of two smaller skellies.

So, no golden Kulta mask in the December promotions. Most mysterious.

Time to order from Bricklink or whatever, then.

Am I the only one dissatisfied with the winning entry? The horns are really cool, but on the whole it falls prey to the same problem that the winning BFTGM entry had, that of clashing textures filling a nice silhouette. The Mask of Hyper Plasma II has it to a lesser degree, fortunately not enough to ruin it.

Someone pointed out that Kulta Kal's mask is gold. I guess that is what the Villain Pack was meant to be used for, kind of like Ultimate Dume's Kraahkan and Irnakk's gold Thok spine.

EDIT: Also, anyone thought of True Ogre (Tekken) when they saw Kulta Kal?

Man, seeing lil' Ekimu defeating than demonic titan on his own would've been amazing to see.

Idk if it fits in this thread, but Lego's just posted this on their facebook page

Now I really wanna see Kopaka pilot that. Can a Toa fit in there?

It is definitely far too small sadly. You could always make a tiny Kopaka to put in there though.

I guess a Protector can, though.

Plot twist: Izotor is a actually piloting it to troll Kopaka.

What is the video? When I click on it something starts downloading on my phone...

@Tazakk: Thanks!

@Shakar: How do you know that?

The video is amusing, however kopakas upside-down chest armor bothers me more than it should.

If only they managed to include an I didn't slip in there.

Found this video showing "Mask Of The Sea Queen" in all it's glory. It sure earned it's victory.

The video is good, but Kopaka just looks silly with his chest plate been upside down.

And I'm just sitting here, still wondering what the heck was the deal with those scorpion-men statues.
