Odvaha Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 (edited) Signed up to post this, so I guess i'm new. The smaller versions of the toa (who i'm guessing are those guardians) appear to use the HF torso, as I see HF armor on it, but on the shoulders there are the shoulder pads that I only got from those cheap knockoffs. Do they have a new torso or do they do the god forsaken axel-ball joint-on-torso method I've seen before on multiple sets? Same thing goes with the actual toa, as they have the brain attack chestplate on their torsos. also onua4lyfe Edited August 11, 2014 by Odvaha Quote
Transparency for Effect Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 If Redstars main mission was to resurrect everything dead in Matoran Universe, then why Teridax wouldn't be stuck in there too? It doesn't do beings made out of antidermis. Quote
Chro Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 If Redstars main mission was to resurrect everything dead in Matoran Universe, then why Teridax wouldn't be stuck in there too? To back up what TFE and Kohran said, the Red Star could not revive post-"evolution" Makuta because they technically had no physical body, only antidermis. And even if it could revive antidermis beings, Teridax was incinerated, totally and completely destroyed, by the collision of the moon with his head. (I personally think that in that scenario there are many ways they could've had him survive the impact, but Greg has stated outright that Teridax is done. The same will likely not hold true for a reboot.) Quote
Xeros610 Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Doesn't resurrection in Bionicle require a physical body to be left over? As far as I remember, in the Red star they also make bodies for the "spirits or souls" of them, but not quite sure... Quote
Lord-Vorahk Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Nope, the Red Star needs a corpse. Basically, it's so nobody could ruin Matoro's sacrifice by bringing him back. Also helps that a lot of the dead characters got disintergrated. It does raise a question about it, though. I mean, Botar was crushed inside his own armour by Icarax. And if the Red Star revives people, then why was there a corpse of the alternate Tuyet on the sea floor? And how the hell did Lhikan die from having his shield stolen? Quote
Shakar Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Isn't Teridax dead? Not if it's a reboot. : P I'd like Teridax, if he were to return, to have more 2001 in him too. Go for a pure black colour scheme, for one thing. I dunno why, but I don't like purple villains. From there, keep the yellow eyes from the MNOG. As in, actual trans-yellow eye pieces, not the same trans-lime that they tried to sell as yellow in 08. THen give him interchangeable parts on his back, one set being bladed tendrils, the other being wings. And finally, include the parts for an infected Defender, with a Hau. Of course, no guns for him, though. Great ideas here. I do like the interchangeable backs idea a lot. I doubt the set would include parts to make a Mato.. ehm Defender form though, as cool as an homage that would be.I did think about him being completely black, and I'd love that, but then I realized Lego always adds a secondary colour in figures. And if there has to be another colour, I'd rather it not be the overused red but something more original instead. And since you mentioned his Matoran form, I think an infected 2015!Hau would rock. I always thought the idea of the main villain wearing a corrupted, twisted version of the good guys' symbol of hope as his own mask was simply awesome- much more meaningful and scary than the 2003 Kraakhan IMO, as cool as that one was. Also, I do like the yellow eyes idea, though it seems kind of unlikely (and, personally his 2003 ice blue eyes remain my favourite ones for him). I guess we need to see what the new sets bring in terms of eye colours. 4 colours like in 2012 was definitely a step in the right direction, of course the best thing would be one colour for each Toa/element. Onua might just have purple eyes- here's hoping! And to reply to some replies above, I don't mind Onua missing the huge hands. IIRC those were his weapons, not part of his body (much like Gali's hooks). And remaking those is incredibly simple anyway- just build black replicas of 2013 Laval's paws. Quote

And if the Red Star revives people, then why was there a corpse of the alternate Tuyet on the sea floor? And how the hell did Lhikan die from having his shield stolen? Botar is alive on the Red Star. Presumably Tuyet was not revived because she was from an alternate universe and the Star did not "recognize" her. Lhikan was killed by Teridax, I don't know what you mean about the shield. Apparently, the first time you die, you need a body. Then after that, the Red Star has your mind "on file" and can rebuild you even without a full body if you die. Not sure how that works. Quote

Apparently, the first time you die, you need a body. Then after that, the Red Star has your mind "on file" and can rebuild you even without a full body if you die. Not sure how that works. 1) That's precisely my point: He gets smooshed by his own armour, yet the goo that was probably left was enough to revive him with? Then why can't Makuta be brought back? I thought the reason they couldn't return was because the only way to definitely kill one was to vaporize the Antidermis, leaving only the armour behind, and Icarax was too disintergrated to be restored. But if Botar can be revived from his armour, why not the Makuta? 2) Makes sense. 3) Not sure if it was written differently in the novel, but in the movie, he runs in front of the Shadow Hand (With no explanation of how he got up to where Vakama and Teridax were), it snags his shield, and rips it out of his hand. The Vahi flies off of Vakama's face, and Terry flies after it, and then Lhikan suddenly starts to expire, even though the SHadow Hand only caught his shield. Quote
Agent Fusion Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Maybe the force of the Shadow Hand was enough to finish him. He did look pretty frail. Quote
Dorek Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 It does play out slightly differently in the books, for Lhikan. As for Botar, the understanding is that you basically need the head to be intact for revival; the extent of Botar's crushing was not made completely clear, since the mention was offhand. Makuta, conversely, have their consciousness AS Antidermis, so once that's gone, they can't come back. Quote
Kalhiki Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I did think about him being completely black, and I'd love that, but then I realized Lego always adds a secondary colour in figures. Agent Fusion Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 (edited) Black and Trans. Green would be cool, but it might be too similar to Onua (unless his colour scheme has changed and I haven't noticed). Edited August 11, 2014 by Agent Fusion Quote
Lord-Vorahk Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Onua has purple in him, and the only Trans Green he had in him before was his eyes, so Trans Green should be fine. Trans Green or Trans Lime, though? Lime would be closer to the Antidermis we had in 06, but unless it was only in minimal amounts, it would make him too bright, I think. Quote
Agent Fusion Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 If they're still using the current system by then, maybe they could use Trans. Green bones and Black armour on top. Quote

Shakar Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I didn't consider that- a fine idea, though I don't think green eyes would look very menacing...it's either red, ice blue or yellow for me. I'm not sure if the whole "Makuta are made of Antidermis" is going to be kept though (don't get me wrong, it's something I always found cool and I'd like to have most basic details be kept). Heck, we might not even get the full Brotherhood. And yes, Onua ditched grey and tr. green for tr. purple (looks like they listened to me after years of praying). Most Toa are getting their secondary colours updated- Kopaka has some tr. ligh blue, Lewa has some sort of brown/tan, Pohatu got his 2001 colous but switched. Gali is the one who changed the most, using. tr. light blue and what looks to be black (dark blue would've been great, though). I'm not sure about her but I'm happy with the other changes- I for one think some Toa needed some new colours, like Onua and Kopaka (a bit too monochromatic IMO). But the most important thing is that we finally got what I always dreamed of: updated, fully poseable Toa Mata. Not the Nuva, not some Glatorian I can't bring myself to care about..the original six. I'm willing to overlook any flaw they might have because of that. Quote
dviddy Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Gali is the one who changed the most, using. tr. light blue and what looks to be black (dark blue would've been great, though). It looks so Takadoxish, I'm not surprised we've all landed on trans light blue. But with all the tealish colours in small numbers of HF bones recently, and appearing in Chima and Friends, what if she's that colour? Quote
Shakar Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 (edited) Takadox! I knew she reminded me of someone. I guess you mean medium azure? Now that I see her and the Water D. again, I realize that light blue shade isn't transparent- actually, it's too solid and vibrant for that. So that's what her colour is- azure. I always wanted shells in that colour, so that's awesome. Kinda disappointed her mask isn't transparent, but that wasn't vital I'd say. I'm still puzzled the rest of her armour is black or titanium metallic- definitely not something I'd associate to water. EDIT- Sorry for the repeated misspelling. Edited August 11, 2014 by Shakar Quote
dviddy Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Sure. I leave the names of all the colours to my good friend Aanchir. I just think of it as tealish, lol. As for black not being waterish, it reminds me a bit of the Mahri. Not them as characters or even the sets, but the setting. The deep, dark, depths of water. When I think of water I think of that beautiful light blue of shallow waters on pristine beaches, sure, or of that weird aqua green of lakes or ponds in jungles or forests, but the deep dark depths of the water are black. It sort of makes sense if she ends up black too? I'm just ready for real pictues. Quote
TwistLaw Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I was re-reading the Chat with Greg conversation at the LEGO forum, and my attention was grabbed by this. I found it really interesting the way he didn't want to say anything about the brains and the fact that any canonical description may be changed in an eventual BIONICLE comeback. COuld we guess that brain will play an important role in the reboot? Sounds fascinating. Quote
Bfahome Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Chima and Friends That sounds like it would be the best sitcom ever. Quote
