Am I the only one who really doesn't get the appeal of Slizers and Roboriders?

Part of me is really excited that BIONICLE is coming back, and another part of me is disappointed that LEGO is trying something new or rebooting something else like Roboriders or Slizers. (That would be cool.)

It would be cool, but almost no one these days even knows what those are (apart from FOL). Bionicle brings great value to LEGO because it's so well known among people, and many of the people who played with them are still part of LEGO's target audience. Anyone who played with Roboriders or Slizers would probably remember if they were reminded, but wouldn't go crazy over a reboot.

Not because I'm a pervert or anything, but because her torso is just a backwards Piraka torso, which looks totally shapeless and quite boring. I never did come up with a solution.

I presume you mean the controversial "MOCing with Nuva Shoulders" method. Yeah, I did that. Except I then ended up building my first custom torso instead. Still despite the controversial side, I managed to get it looking pretty good/natural eventually.

I tried both the Nuva Shoulder armor and the Rahkshi heads. Both looked way off proportionally on the Piraka torso. I wasn't just trying for boobs though, all the armor pieces that I have looked "bleh" on the torso. I'm having trouble working with it.

I went back just a few minutes ago and came up with this part connected to this part. The former in dark blue, and the latter in white. (I plan to swap her limbs and color scheme with her Inika form's. I love those marbled white and dark blue parts) They attach to a longer axle that comes out here It doesn't look all that great, but at least it helps the concave look of the backwards Piraka torso a little.

That works pretty well. I ended up with a custom torso, as I said. She had more depth to her torso, and narrower shoulders, as well as a waist pivot/ab crunch. However, the character that I have with this build at the moment is much taller than a Toa, so I need to find a way to bulk her up a bit more.

It might sound stupid, but although in his first two incarnations he was Green and Lime (BL) / Dark Green and Bright Yellowish Green (Lego), the last green constraction set which isn't Lime / Br. Yellowish Green or Dark Green (BL) / Earth Green (Lego) is Green Lantern, and his green was different from Lewa's green : it was Bright Green (BL / Lego). So the question is which shade of green do you think Lewa will be ? Green / Dk. Green or Br. Green ?

I'd hope for good ol' Green, it would give us the opportunity to mix his parts with the first two Lewa's parts, and on the pics he seems to be green, but because of Green Lantern, a Bright Green Lewa is still possible, which wouldn't rejoice me.

I know there are quite a few of you who are new to Eurobricks and have joined in the last few weeks since this rumors thread took off, but I suggest everyone once again re-read the site guidelines. I'm noticing a lot of people have had issues with keeping themselves on-topic. If you want to talk about building techniques for your own MOCs, make a new thread. If you want to show off a MOC and get feedback on it, make a new thread. Just because a lot of people are viewing and commenting on this topic everyday, doesn't mean it's the only place to talk about constraction.

And under no circumstances is off-topic memes or attempts at "trolling" people allowed on Eurobricks. This is not 4chan. All posts relating to that have been removed from the topic.

Pretty sure he's bright green, especially if the Toa use Hero feet (I'd rather see new feet for variety sake, though). Plus bright green seems to be the trend in recent years- just look at the Hulk and Green Lantern. Actually, I do actively hope that's bright green. I'm going to spoiler tag paragraphs for better reading.

Back then in 2012, I kinda disliked bright green because it..ahem...symbolized the destruction of my HF Lewa revamp dreams. But the point is moot now AFAIC (hypehypehype) and, while I never used it in MOCs (having only two Breakout torsos in that colour) I've grown to like bright green myself- I do really think it's a cool, vibrant colour.

And plus, if he's classic green, bright green would rot as yet another colour that gets used in the CCBS once only to be forgotten (I'm looking at you, tr. yellow, tr. dark green, Keetongu yellow-orange, etc.. ). If he's bright green, however, an apparently abandoned colour is going to be picked up again and enriched with new parts- which is what should have happened this year when the Beasts reintroduced azure (seems like Gali is fixing this, though).

As for his secondary colour, I repeat it's not and it can't be gold. I know it looks like gold but it'd make no sense if it were. Why?

1)As I said before, Gali and Pohatu have no traces of gold. Tahu, Kopaka and Onua definitely do. These 3 also happen to be hugely implied to be larger sets compared to the other 3 Toa (8-14 age tag vs 7-14).

Tell me, which one of these two makes more sense? 3 larger sets with gold armour+1 smaller set with gold armour+2 smaller sets without gold armour (4 vs 2) OR 3 larger sets with gold armour+3 smaller sets without gold armour (3+3)?

2)Gold is the colour of the masks and the special armour worn by the 3 larger Toa (see 1). It's the team colour so to speak, that special exclusive colour that identifies the group while unifying its members, like silver was for the Toa Nuva. It makes no sense to cheapen it, so to speak, by reusing it as a econdary colour.

3)This is a minor one but, silver over gold? Pretty sure that never happened, though Breakout Bulk did mix those two colours in very unique ways (but still, mostly on his RPG).

If it's not gold, then what is it? Your guess is as good as mine as I don't have any exclusive pics. I initially thought tan or dark tan, but looking at the image again the shade is too yellowish. It might be Keetorange. Note however, that the image is quite oversaturated (gold is nowhere that bright IRL!), and the Jungle Defender's secondary colour looks darker, closer to Hewkii's burnt orange (Dark Orange perhaps? I don't know).

No way, the... gold-ish mystery colour smooth part is definitely a shell (likely a 5M size), with the Toa Inika-eque silver part is a new two-pins add-on. Kopaka has it in white, and Onua and Tahu (on his lower arms) in gold. Definitely a small useful piece to add some detail.

And agreed with you on Makuta, Pate-keetongu. I was very excited when we finally got a Makuta set but I was puzzled as well: so the Master of Shadows is a big grey and red guy? Ok.. I still think giving him ice blue eyes was genius, though. Too bad all other deciptions gave him cliched ZOMG RED EYES OF PURE EVIL.

If Makuta comes back as the main villain (and I think it's very likely), I'd like if he was more similar to his 2001 form- something more slender (yes, the double entendre is intentional), surreal, and pure black (I'm sick of red and black bad guys really). And since Onua is bringing tr purple with him, what about that as his secondary colour? : O

"Pure black" just won't happen. Rare are the sets in ANY LEGO theme that are pure black without any more brightly-colored accents. Even Black Phantom used Dark Red beams, among other more brightly colored parts. The reason is that a pure black model is not all that photogenic. The details tend to just melt together and the result is a shadowy blob without many distinguishing traits (this is even true with MOCs unless you are an especially skilled photographer).

Also, pure black makes instruction manuals difficult to decipher. In fact, this is true of most colors, hence why so many sets use brightly-colored bricks for the interior of the build, and why so many BIONICLE and Hero Factory sets use alternating colors for the leg and arm beams. With sets, you want the model's details to be able to stand out on the store shelves, in the instruction booklet, AND on the assembled model.

Anyway, while you may be sick of red and black bad guys, there's a reason why so very many franchises have them. The symbolic meanings of those colors is well-suited to villains: black suggests darkness, while red suggests blood. It's similar to how gold works so well for heroes because it can represent the light of the sun, or how white can be used to represent light and purity.

That makes sense, actually. You could even say she represents both sides of water- the clear, beautiful one that brings life, and the dark, destructive force of nature. Gali was always both IMO.

Indeed — in fact, some of her earliest bios exemplified this aspect of her. Some people dislike this characterization, though, because it plays into the stereotype of women being volatile or prone to mood swings. Personally I think it definitely makes Gali an interesting character, but it should always be treated with great care in the story. Katara in Avatar: The Last Airbender is a good example of how this sort of duality can be handled effectively, without being offensive. She has both a gentle, caregiving side and a furious, vengeful side, but it's not due to fickleness or mood swings, but rather a keen awareness that there is a time for being caring and gentle and a time for letting loose and exacting justice.

After all it was a good companion for my troubled teenage years, and just as I get out of them... HF ends too.

I know I won't be the only one to miss it, neither the only one who became a man -strong expression, but you get the idea- alongside our galactic robots, but this saddends me as I'd never expected.

Oh man. Now that you say keetorange, looking back at it, I'd bet almost anything Lewa is using keetorange. Not sure how I feel about this. Also, speaking of burnt orange... Pohatu? I went and pulled the image up again, and now I'm wondering if that colour is Pohatu's colour. Would be an interesting half-step between the orange 2008 Pohatu and the original brown one.
