Sir Kohran Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) Though I agree Bionicle did have too many names and strange words, it doesn't seem sensible to fix that by getting rid of what's probably the most recognisable name/term in the whole franchise. Aanchir Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 According to BZPower, the LEGO Group will be unveiling a brand new LEGO theme on Thursday, October 9 at San-Diego Comic-Con. If it's not BIONICLE, my only guess at what it might be would be the enigmatic new "Super Cars" theme — unless it's some completely unknown new license that the LEGO Group has done an uncanny job keeping secret from AFOLs. Gatanui Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 I'm fine with them being called Masters in the packaging but please let them still be called Toa in the story. That's not even a complicated name. -Gata Quote

Yeah, I saw that, and wondered if it was BIONICLE, but the whole 'brand new theme' put me off. It could still be, though. Seems like a perfect time to announce it. Quote
TheBrickPal Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) LEGO could be calling it a "brand new theme" to cover up the leaks and rumors even more (there's no denying it, though). I'm curious to see! But, what else could they reveal? Elves? Top Gear? My bets are on the Bonkles. Not to mention, LEGO gave BZPower (the biggest BIONICLE fansite) the tickets to give away. Seems like a perfect time to announce it. Remember, that guy's blog did say that he was working on a "new" constraction theme for 2015, and it's almost certain that he was referring to Bio, so... I don't know. I'm sure that reboots such as Space Police III were referred to as "new" as well, though, correct? Edited August 29, 2014 by Chro Quote

You mean New York? =P I say bring on another constraction theme! Not BIONICLE or Hero Factory! Quote

Considering it's at Comic con, it's probably Bionicle. I doubt "Super Cars" will get a big media release. Unfortunately, like Racers, it's just not that popular. Quote

It's possible that other sites and communities might have also gotten tickets to give away and just haven't announced how they're giving them away quite yet. October is a long way away, after all. GK733 Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Have we already got all winter leaks? If so then HF is kinda... well nonexistnct. Quote
Mesonak Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Have we already got all winter leaks? If so then HF is kinda... well nonexistnct. Yup. If there was any doubt about it being replaced, those doubts have pretty much been eradicated at this point. WHICH IS A SHAME, because I did thoroughly enjoy the theme, but I'm perfectly content with it being sacrificed to bring about BIONICLE's return. Quote
Mutant Orc Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Well, they'll be using the same parts so I'm not too bothered about the *'loss'* of HF as I'll still be able to use all the same parts as before. I also welcome the opportunity for newer parts and more organic looking parts. But I'm kinda sad that the IFB line has ended. I'd have liked more beasts... *I prefer to think of it as a period of 'hibernation', it'd be nice if HF could still exists and return at some point* Quote
Flobnomdob Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 To me personally Invasion From Below represents all of Hero Factory to me, so, as we're unlikely to get another 'minifigure-scaled' constraction series in a long time, so some variation in the weapons and helmet designs is all good. Quote
Chro Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Again, as far as I have been informed by my source, HF is done with. Quote
Mandate Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Well, HF at least ended with its story complete. There's numerous examples where LEGO has done nothing about the end of a line, eg the missing Comic 40 of Exo-Force, the announcement of who won the "decide the ending of Alpha Team" contest (though the web game did have its own ending), Power Miners had a huge plot twist that was never fully revealed, Mars Mission and Space Police didn't get a proper ending either, Space Police's online blog was cut short at "here come the Space Police Commandos!" and Mars Mission... well, it did have an ending, but it wasn't exactly fully explained. If you really want to get picky, V1 of BIONICLE didn't get an end to its story either. Quote
Mesonak Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Well, HF at least ended with its story complete. Not really; unresolved plot threads and cliffhangers ran amok in the last three years of the theme's life. I do see what you mean, though, in terms of the major conflict of each year being resolved. You're right about that. :P Quote
