Very true but NOT at regular price ;)

I will see if they are on sale because there quite interesting pieces and parts that really can be usefull ;)

Yes there are some interesting parts within the 4+ sets, just a shame about their design (or lack of).

I definitely want to do a MOC based on 7072 Captain Kragg's Craft. I've already bought some additional sails off eBay. Now I just need to find a 7072 for a price I deem reasonable.

I'm bumping this thread in case any of the newer forum members would like to vote in the poll. It appears the Pirates are losing! We can't have that!

Vikings rule...although arnt vikings a type of pirate?

Hey, had to vote for pirates (as a loyal sutcliff reader) and I just watched the aptly named movie last night... I think it is also safe to assume all the 'equal' voters prefer Pirate and were just trying to be polite :-D .

If a pirate is 'a person who attacks and robs ships at sea' (oxford dict.) and vikings (generally) did their plundering on land merely escaping by sea... I'd have to guess they're different. Though the viking may just be a less sophisticated pirate due to boat limitations.

Viking as a lego line is doomed to be in new brown, grey etc. so can never match up to Pirate...

God Bless,

Nathan

Go to this thread.

It was supposed to be a Pirate MOC thread except it went dreadfully off topic and turned into a debate on what Pirates and Vikings actually are. If you'd like to comment or continue the debate that would be the best place to do it.

You really need to work on your English, Kirk. Do you really want others to think of you as a babling, obtuse, irritating little child?

Kids, learn to type properly. It will do you wonders.

Well, he is American so I don't think he needs to work on his English, but on his spelling....

definatle vikings, cause only m,egablocks makes pirates of the carribean. But if it were lego pirates thooughes are the best!

You don't seem to make a lot of sense in this post. Especially the last phrase confuses me. :S

Well by using the term 'English' I avoided specifing 'Grammer' from 'Spelling' or visa versa. Kirk's writting is so poor I am unable to pick out the the grammer mistakes from the spelling mistakes, if they are actually different at all.

I prefer the Vikings. We've already done pirates, so it was nice to have a new theme with new parts. That's not to say I wouldn't be interested in a new pirate line. I just like the Vikings better.

Errrr... Yeah... Explain "mom" to me... Why did it such a simple word need to be changed from "mum"?

And the bit that gets me half the Americans I've heard pronounce it "mom" and the other half "mum" with a distinct "u" in the middle. Why is there no consistency?

Did you buy all the Viking sets?

Right now, Viking sets are the main sets i'm buying, with some SW and some aqua raiders. I like how how much rown and tan comes with the viking sets. By now i have WAY more rown than brown. I'm thinking, i may retire my brown bricks and use exclusively rown. Though if there were to ever be System Pirates again, those would be the main sets i'd get :'-) .

mum? isn't that a british word. i don't think i've ever heard it said that way unless the person is the first or second generation in the US from europe. Though i am close to yooper country, and we have our own dialect.

Yes I did, and I enjoyed all of them. Even that crazy ballista thing with the red dragon, which I thought would be a horrible set.

Dialect....it's ALL about dialect. Everything is pronounced by the dialect of that person. It's Dialect.

Yes, different pronunciations for different regions but the spelling shouldn't change.

In English"Mum" is the abbreviation for "mother" but for some reason its been changed to "mom" in Northern America. Obviously many words have been changed in Northern America but to me it didn't really seem necessary to change "mum".

But enough of this! We're supposed to be pledging our love of Pirates... Errr... Or Vikings... X-D
