Saberwing40k Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I'm sure most of you guys know of Vengit, the producers of the SBrick. I was thinking, since they already make the SBrick, a PF compatible element that Lego itself would never produce, maybe they could eventually expand their lineup to include more things? If they did so , what would you want them to make? I'd like to see some adapters, to connect various other batteries to the PF system, like a cable that would go from a common 7.2v RC batter to a PF plug, or a snap for a 9v battery, or even a system that plugs into the wall, like the old train speed regulator. Also good would be some small motors, and a proportional switch. Also along these lines, would it be a good thing if Lego endorsed this kind of thing, like they did for certain Mindstorms sensors? Awaken_M1nd Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 (edited) Hm, interesting question. I think guys from Vengit should create a console joystick-like device for smartphones which paired with SBrick. For example, follow the link: http://www.exeq.ru/p...s/renegade.html Edited December 30, 2014 by Awaken_M1nd Quote
efferman Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 (edited) A simple basic remote for the Sbrick for people who doesnt want a smartphone or a tablet. Maybe two analogue thumbsticks for 4 functions and a button which let the remote jump from Sbrick to Sbrick to steer an other model. and yes, lego should become a distributor for Sbrick Edited December 30, 2014 by efferman Quote
Rascko Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Open SDK/API for Sbrick, just to have cheap Mindstorms analogue via any SOC solution, like Raspberry Pi :) Quote
Kelkschiz Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 First of all, kudos to Vengit for identifying the weakest link in the PF product family and creating a very strong product to replace it. It was by far the thing i most wanted see improved in the PF lineup. I don't think there are any similar big weaknesses in the PF lineup, therefor i would prefer them sticking with the Sbrick, making it an even stronger product. They still have a lot of exciting plans for the Sbrick which i look forward to seeing realized. Quote
Epic Technic Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I think they should create the LR (Large Race) motor; it would be the PF reincarnation of the buggy motor. I wish they would do this   Quote

andythenorth Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 (edited) I reckon, let them get on with shipping v1 (non beta) SBrick, they have £88k of kickstarter funds (plus whatever other investment), and (I assume) a growing salary bill to pay. v1 hardware won't be 100% reliable, products never are, so they'll end up re-engineering some things, and they also have to keep developing the software and working to build a community. So they have plenty to do eh? If they do anything that in any way infringes TLG stuff, they've got a legal problem, and (unlike fan-produced parts), they have what could be a valuable business which is worth TLG suing. OTOH it would be nice to think that TLG would see Vengit as a partner who has produced an interesting PF addon. Edited December 30, 2014 by andythenorth Quote
PROlego Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 You should write those things in the Sbrick forum here: http://social.sbrick.com/forums/topic/4/future-hardware-addons Quote
