adik_sa_lego Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I'm not too sure about that, TLG might go with the VW T1 Camper Van and the Mini Cooper scale for the Ferrari F40. I just hope it turns out to be an amazing build with the same effort as it was done with the previous Creator Expert cars. Hoping for some functions too, like pop-up headlights for example :) seconding the pop-up headlights function! Quote
themathemagician Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Where has the information for this come from? I can't even find confirmation of the '10XXX' number. Must have some secret sources around here ;) I'm conscious that I might be building myself up to much for this :( Quote

XAxles Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) None. But April's fast approaching, and the LEGO Calendar usually shows up around these times in the month. Soon, this thread will welcome spring! Edited March 11, 2015 by XAxles Quote
Emmi Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 We'll have to wait till the end of April or even longer for the Ferrari F40 to appear on the LEGO store calendar. The Ferrari is scheduled for June (VIP release) I think. Quote

GallardoLU Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I hope that they manage to get the design right WITHOUT stickers! I can understand a few for the Ferrari Logos, but they had best figure out a way to get all those NACA scoops and other small features in rick form. Quote

If they do vents with stickers, they wasted model for sure. But high usage of snot nowadays, I think they made it brickbuild. Also they must do pop up headlights, this is crucial function of F40. Quote
Pineapple Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I really hope this set has at least the windshield and rear glass hatch. Its a deal breaker for me actually, the main reason why I passed on the UCS Millenium Falcon and Scuderia Ferrari Truck. Quote

You are not alone, I passed Technic arocs. But I hope I will get this set before end of 2015, I think this set will me breaking at sales. Quote
Rijkvv Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 I've seen people wanting features like pop-up headlights, but for me steering wheels are actually more important. Sure, I want those headlights as well, but working steering is something that's missing from a lot of models other people call Model Team. I'm eager to see pictures of it. While I think the F40 isn't the best looking, it sure is iconic and a car I dreamt of as a kid. Quote
nerdsforprez Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 No updates on this model yet? I thought we would have pictures by now..... Quote

SMC Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Do we have any idea of price and how big, how many parts? Quote
tafkatb Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 ^I'd say in the same general ballpark as the Mini. Quote
Ondra Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I hope a big scale, 1:8 or bigger. No way, 1:12 maximum 1:10.Anyway ferris wheel will be unveiled anytime and next station is Ferrari F40! Quote
XAxles Posted April 28, 2015 Author Posted April 28, 2015 No way, 1:12 maximum 1:10. All I know is that the F40 has to be longer, wider, and should sit lower than the Leyland Mini. And that it should have an accurate engine bay (F40's got a twin-turbo V8, right?). Oh, and pop-up headlamps, too. Anyway Ferris Wheel will be unveiled anytime and next station is Ferrari F40! Man, just a month away before getting the most legendary Ferrari road car ever. And if TLG can help it, they can make it RC, though that's gonna raise the scale. Quote
Ondra Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I rather prefer stationary models than RC .Anyway this going to be system model so bigger scale mean higher piece count and price. I think about 1200-1300 piece count and 115-120€ price.Scale same as mini cooper, so about 1:12. Quote
Emmi Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 (edited) I'm afraid we'll have to wait until the end of May, so around the time when the July LEGO store calendar will be available - for our first glimpse on this amazing set, the 10248 Ferrari F40. This has to feature pop-up headlights, the iconic red from Ferrari, preferably no stickers (hopefully it's all printed parts, especially when it comes to the Ferrari logo) and I'd suggest a piece count of approximately 1150-1500.
