Could you not have used jumper plates to give you the half stud offset? i have done something similar, but I just left the half stud gap, as it seems small enough for the trains to cross without bother.

I do not try. With This system, no shock when the train crossed the rail.

I wouldn't be comfortable cutting vintage tracks. :classic: You can also cut flex track to make the connection since no one seems to like flex track. I think the bits to cut off is above the yellow line.

We have even a more simple solution!

Just snap the pins into the holes and away you go.... they are .25 cents a piece and you get 4 for $1.00. I will have Eric add more to the inventory if you need a bunch. NO cutting needed. The rails align. Blue as well as 4.5 volt gray track. I hope this helps

Verry verry nice, but i dont have the track métal 9v!

Its the same track as rc track but without the metal on top.
