Doc_Brown Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) How low can you go? Chassis dragging the ground? Yeap that is as low as you can go!!!! Happy New year! Well I'm very pleased to present my Lincoln Continental Lowrider. I have been wanting to make a Lowrider for some time and what better choice than the coolest car ever made? This Moc features suicide doors, opening boot and HOG steering as well as being really really low. - 46cm long, 20 cm wide and 13.5cm height (Max) - 1x M motor using 7.4v lipo, and switch. (Can also fit Standard BB) - 1.76 KG - Locking mechanism for in upright position allowing for suspension to be pushed up and down with out stress to lifting gear. - Full independent suspension all round. - HOG steering using push-pull rod. (Very smooth) - Main chassis is just 1 stud thick and features a cool sliding chassis (and body work) to accommodate the 2 stud think doors, allowing movement longways whilst maintaining strength. Any other questions or suggestions please leave a comment below. Cheers. Edited January 7, 2015 by Doc_Brown Quote

Dalafik Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) Looks smooth and shiny. I especially like white interior - perfectly mimics leather. I wonder if... could you make it jump? (just kidding) Edited January 2, 2015 by Dalafik Quote
Rishab N Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I didn't realize you were going to make it this low It looks great Quote
Graydingo Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Looks fantastic. Saw one on bags like this at the SEMA show a few years bag. They can definitely get that low in real life. Quote
Chilis Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 This car is insane cool! Really, really like it! Awesome details! Love the front, seats and the inside of the doors Quote
Infraredbrick Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Beautiful MOC! I too have had to get creative on my own builds to overcome the issue of making doors that are two studs thick open easily. I'd really like to see pics (or a quick video maybe?) of the sliding chassis you mentioned. Quote
Brick_Sticker Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Very nicely done, looks just like the real thing. I know a guy who had a 61, it was a mile long and rode like a feather pillow. Great work! Quote
OzBen Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 So damn cool man!!! You've captured the overall shape brilliantly I reckon. Raise/lower mechanism in the tight space is very clever indeed. Now to add it to my collection..... :-D Quote
Doc_Brown Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 Thanks for the great feed back guys! I'll post some more pics soon. So damn cool man!!! Got more shelves? Quote
Eigenbroetler Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) simply stunning! that is an awesome build, and a car that is one of my favorites of all time! Will you have it on mocplans? Edited January 4, 2015 by Eigenbroetler Quote
DrJB Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 (edited) Very nicely done ... Reminds me of my time in Detroit an the 'dream Cruise'! A car parade. Not sure everyone knows of the Lincoln cars. So, here is a piece of US automotive trivia: Lincoln is the 'upscale' version of Ford. It is like Audi for VW, Acura for Honda, Infinity for Nissan, or Lexus for Toyota. Yes, I will start on instructions tmr. Not sure everyone knows of the Lincoln cars. So, here is a piece of US automotive trivia. Lincoln is the 'upscale' version of Ford. It is like Audi for VW, Acura for Honda, Infinity for Nissan, or Lexus for Toyota. When I decided to build this, I thought great NOT a Ford.....But no, still making Fords. hehehe. I also remember reading that Continentals were the most expensive car you could buy at the time, even more than a Rolls Royce. They also only made around 2500 convertibles as well, making them quite rare today. Quote
Brick_Sticker Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Lincoln also 'stole'/borrowed the vertically oriented grill from Rolls Royce, and kept in on the Town Cars (which replaced the Continental as the flagship car) until '99 or so I believe. Brick_Sticker Quote

neoconagenda Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Another thread to follow for instructions!!! Quote
LeocornoProductions Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 That's a crazy lowrider, not even track-based hypercars like the McLaren p1 or stripped out race cars can go that low, and they go so low that even on steep corners they scratch the underbody of the car. You took low to a new level. Quote
Doc_Brown Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 niiice! do you have a parts list, so one could get ready? or is that released with the instructions? I post the parts list here as soon as I can, but you can start collecting white and black tiles! 1x4 and (at least 36) 1x6 in white (at least 36 1x8 in black (at least 40) Thanks for the nice feedback guys! Another thread to follow for instructions!!! I probably will make a new thread in a few weeks time launching a few instructions. Lincoln (paid) GTHO (paid) Menck Crane (free) Hybrid buggy (free if I get time) Quote
