may I say something? After reading lots of comments and looking at the pics of your model I would say you need to focus on the car itself rather than thinking of how lighter it's compared to other entries, about instructions, about non use of a differential, of a better or worse gearbox and bla bla bla.

Why should I buy the instructions for building a Lamborghini Huracan that doesn't even look like a Lamborghini Huracan? Why should I care if it weights 10 gramms more or 10 gramms less? Specially when without a differential it's gonna twist all the axles??

This car looks far away from a good LEGO version of the real subject. It's just a lots of yellow beams covering 4 wheels, I rather work on the body and forget about what use you will do of it after the contest. Why don't you ask for suggestions and try to shape it better? It's not even a matter of which or how many pieces you have.....it's the way you use them tha makes the difference!

Hope you don't take my comment/opinion too bad....actually here to help if necessary!

mind that removing diffs expecially with a good steering range will increase a Lot The friction while turning And also with ackermann geometry, so you'll waste many torque

and you also remove Their gear reduction

To make a virtual Race maybe we could decide a track only made with wheels a turning Point and everyone could build that track and make a video showing his/her car racing on it, The fastest one will win! io someone il good with photoshop and we set The cameras all At The same position we could make a final video with ghosts racing! (ok, i'm dreaming...)

Now that would be awesome.

While I agree (especially about keeping diffs in the model), he already explained this is the best he could do. Can't expect everybody to have good skills at body design. He took some of the advice and made air intakes under the doors, but in the end it's his choice and his car. Let the people who vote in the contest decide where it ends up.

Ok I understand of course, but I believe that a forum it's always good way for asking helps and suggestions.

Anyway..let's wait for the voting then!

I appreciate that the looks aren't to the real huracan. But there isn't much I can do to make the car look more realistic because I don't have any flex axles or useful parts like those :(

Maybe you should consider ordering some from bricklink if possible. There seem to be plenty of people selling size 19.

It's a lot cheaper to order lose parts then buy sets for moccing.

Are you a TFOL and can't order from Bricklink?!

Sorry, I don't understand a word you're saying :/

I don't see anything wrong with what he said its normal English. He's just saying its cheaper to buy individual parts instead of sets. A TFOL is a Teenage Fan Of Lego

Edit I see Italian Bricks beat me to it

Buying individual parts was a kind of milestone for me, and I only started it after maybe 2 years of building. Another barrier can be online paying. I only do it recently since I have secure cable net (I only had radio crap before that).

Plus he is already late with it, the shipment will probably not make it in time. He would have to rebuild the body AND make photos AND make a video with editing.

If I were the original poster, I would simplify the body and only make the main body lines from beams. Let the chassis shine through.

Filming is half done, the car is complete though, hopefully I can post some pics on brickshelf tomorrow. And hopefully I can get the video edited on Friday, thus uploaded. It's features are an xl motor for drive, l motor for the 3 speed sequential gearbox, servo for steering and 1 m motor for raising the left rear pushrod suspension because the battery box makes the suspension slant to the left, but the linear actuator keeps it lifted. Also it features rear pushrod suspension inspired by the aventador, front 20 degree independent suspension. Scissor doors, manually adjustable aerodynamics including the spoiler and front splitter. Opening hood, free revving engine: Flat 10, lights, 4wd and I hope to pioneer a custom launch control function for the huracan after TC6. But I have been fiddling with this car for so long, constantly repairing and swapping gearboxes, sorting out the drivetrain and chassis and making the body look as good as I can possibly make it, that I don't want to do any further mods otherwise I might have to change other components of the car, and that can be dragged on for days.

I just didn't know what a tfol was, I think I can buy online, I just forgot I could but I'm not going to be buying anything for sometime.

TFOL = Teenager Fan Of Lego

This was explained in a prior post. People thought you cannot buy because you do not have your own credit card yet ... :classic:

I think the looks are actually quite good, given your available parts. Definitely a step up from your McLaren P1.

I feel however that the functions are a bit awkward. Especially the 4th motorized function, raising the suspension on one wheel because the weight is off. That shouldn't really need to be a function.

Sorry if this comes out a bit harsh, it is meant as constructive criticism.

Like I said, it's a good progression from your P1, and I wish you good luck in the contest!

EDIT:

Also; shouldn't the video show some actual driving? :look:

Thank you for the compliment, but like I pointed out in the description of the video, the video was rushed and I literally was going out somewhere after I filmed. And I did film it before but the video maker I normally use got deleted when my laptop broke, and had to upload the video from my phone! :0

I was also desperate for a 4th function, and I didn't like the collapsed suspension because when I designed the suspension, it was pretty stiff. But the battery box and gearbox plus many panels used for the bodywork changed that. And also the motorized suspension could act as a chassis control/ anti-bodyroll control (not that the car will be going fast enough to create bodyroll XD) but like osuharding1 says about functions like that, "it's a neat feature". Also the only other option was to make a convertible, but I wanted to do that after the competition. I can't remember of the top of my head what you're building, but I remember viewing a TC6 topic by you, and I think I liked it. So good luck as well, and thank you for the feedback!
