Posted January 7, 201510 yr I am looking forward to getting my lego pieces organized once and for all. I will also be meeting a friend I have had for two years for the first time in person this year. Also, just basic things.. Eat better, get a raise at work... yadda yadda. How about you?
January 7, 201510 yr Those are good goals, but I'm not big on New Years resolutions... I say, if it's worth doing, why wait until New Years? But I am trimming down... both my waistline and how much LEGO I buy. I need to build more and buy less. I'm limiting to just CMFs, Modulars, and Creator trains, if they come out with a new one.

Somehow this last sentence sounds familiar... I have cut back on buying, just the modulars, the Winter Village sets, and maybe one more that tickles my fancy. My main goal is to get as organized as I can and try to build a few sets in my backlog and learn how to build a better cliff for my Halloween display for next year. Good luck to all.... Andy D
January 7, 201510 yr I did neglect to mention Winter Village... I do have all of them, and will likely continue to get the annual set (and purchase stuff around that time of year to get the bonus sets, as I have all of them, too). But compared to what I've cut back on, I'm still buying less than half of what I used to. I've cut way back on Star Wars (only OT, and only if I don't have an earlier version... I don't need the new one, and even then not all of them), Castle (I've only bought one of the newer castle sets where I used to get them all), I've completely cut architecture out. I haven't even gotten all the LOTR and Hobbit sets (and I won't) - three years ago that statement would have seemed inconceivable.

I also enjoy the bonus sets, if I get one it's great, if not I think it is less expensive to just pay the price on eBay... Less expensive than buying a $100 set I really don't need. I have cut back from (more than I want to admit) to $500 - $700 per year. I find I spend almost as much on Bricklink as I do on sets, because I need (need?) more parts for MOCs and displays (Halloween and Christmas). All in all I still believe I am spending less now than I was 3 years ago. Andy D

I am the same way. I don't claim a resolution, I just consider them plans. haha And I have to cut back on lego spending as well. My plan was to start a LEGO 365 project (a photo a day) in the new year -> https://www.flickr.c...57650035745912/ That is great! I will check back on this every so often. I couldn't commit to something like that. I do want to take a picture a day of my next set of kittens. I did pla on doing this last time... and failed. haha
January 8, 201510 yr I did make a big decision for this year. To join this group and actively seek out some like minded folks. I have spent 10 years building by myself and not sharing Mocs or meeting anyone who has this hobby. This year I want to try and get to know some people, I have also joined a local Lug here in the UK. The only other thing I have decided to do is to finish some long term Mocs that have been sitting around half finished before I start anything else!

I didn't think I would ever get into forums myself but I began posting on more and more, then eventually having my own. They are a great way to connect with people who dig the same things you do and a great way to meet new people.
January 25, 201510 yr My plan was to start a LEGO 365 project (a photo a day) in the new year -> *looks* Oh my god! :-D That may be the one character I cannot pity.
January 25, 201510 yr My main resolution for 2015 is to achieve all goals planned for 2014, which were supposed to be achieved in 2013, because i couldn't fulfill them in 2012, although those were already planned to be finalized in 2011, because i couldn't accomplish them in 2007 Edited January 25, 201510 yr by Mazin

January 29, 201510 yr My New Year's resolution was to save some money.... Seeing the new sets on Nuremberg Toy Fair and with Castle Fantasy Era returning next year, I can already say I failed So, my New Year's resolution lasted only 28 days.... that's a whole new level of failure
