Karalora Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Going just by the released images... Like: Vampire Lady: We've been needing one in CMF, and that spider web design is fab. Witch: Super-cute alternative to the Series 2 Witch. I would peg this as a Halloween costume rather than a genuine spellcasting woman, however. Venus Flytrap Costume: Very creative idea! He looks like either he was not expecting his paper-mache headdress to be so heavy, or he's playing the part of a victim being swallowed feet-first. Tiger Girl: Just adorable. Awesome printing! Her hairdo looks very Lee Meriwether, which is a great inside joke about women in cat costumes. Skeleton Boy: I assume it's a boy. This seems like another case of someone wearing a costume. Rather than cover his face with an uncomfortable plastic mask, he used white pancake makeup. Indifferent: Rocker Frankenstein: Is this a reference to the song "Monster Mash"? The singer refers to himself as "Boris," i.e. Karloff. Werewolf: The gag about this possibly being the Lumberjack after being bitten is cute, but the figure itself seems rather redundant. Dislike: Zombie Businessman, Zombie Cheerleader, Zombie Pirate: Having more varieties of zombie certainly makes for a more realistic apocalypse than an army of clones, but did they all have to be mashups with previously existing character concepts? Mad Scientist: His head is just weird. Too cylindrical. And those goggles... It looks like they're trying to evoke the Minions from the Despicable Me franchise, which just seems like pandering. I hope the five as-yet-unrevealed figures fill in some more of our monster/Halloween conceptual gaps, like Bride of Frankenstein, Phantom of the Opera, etc. Or how about a lady mummy? Igor? Victorian-style ghost "dressed in his habit as he lived"? Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Although it was mentioned in the press release, it seems this series isn't at the NY Toy Fair... I was wondering if these minifigures will get proper names or generic ones. Could they be called Crazy Scientist #2, Witch#2, Werewolf #2, Zombie #2, Monster #2,...? They're probably just going to be reworded. For example, I'm guessing the scientist will be called "Mad" instead of "Crazy" to distinguish him from the CMF and MF Crazy Scientists. The witch might be referred to as a "Halloween Witch", because her design revolves on the Halloween witch stereotypes (wild hair, stripy stockings, etc.) and resembles a costume. My guess list for official names: Zombie Cheerleader Tiger Girl Halloween Witch Flytrap Man/Man-eating Plant Skeleton Guy/Boy Lady Vampire/Vampiress Lumberjack Werewolf/Werewolf Lumberjack Zombie Businessman Mad Scientist Zombie Pirate Captain Rocker Monster Quote

SirBlake Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Not much here for castle collection. Finally, a break to my wallet. I suppose, but it's kind of sad to have at least a whole year with no castle of any kind. I would much rather be concerned about spending too much than just sit around knowing it'll be months before we even hear anything about new product. Quote

I'm still mad Lego did matcing torso+dress combo. They could just put that spider up slightly... Quote
legofanatic12 Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 How about a "Day of the Dead" person with a calaveras makeup? This would fit in this series. Quote
telaruhn Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 How about a "Day of the Dead" person with a calaveras makeup? This would fit in this series. Ooh, I can see it now... A sombrero, maybe a black mariachi outfit? Not a bad idea honestly. As nice as it looks, I'm sad the Tiger Girl's suit has curves... I wanted to make a Calvin and Hobbes MOC and this suit would have been perfect for it... It's the only mark against the outfit, though. Quote
Darth Punk Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Seeing how the Scooby Doo line has a printed mask and face on the same head it's likely we will see he same with series 14. Quote
dgherko Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 It will allow me to pick up a few old sets that have escaped me. Picked up 6073 Knight's Castle. I will dabble in some Pirate sets for the minifigs. Who knows maybe one of the monsters have some connection with the castle world. Quote

Ardelon Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I believe that among the five remaining figs will be: - a ghost, with the head of the skeleton boy (I know kabel and some others think the head could belong to the skeleton boy, but it just doesnt look skeletony to me) - a vampire (too classic to ignore, even if there is one in the Scooby Doo theme; TLG will find a zany way to make it different, like the mad scientist or werewolf(-costume) guy) - a mummy (same reason as a vampire, it could be a female mummy this time to distinguish it from the Scooby mummy) - a bride of Frankenstine rock or pop singer, to complement the "Frankenrock" monster - an Igor (thanks to 8Brickmario for the inspiration) - I originally thought of a female swamp monster, but I dont think it is so iconic that TLG would do one here and in the Scooby line and risk losing sales of the Lighthouse set, unlike the vampire and mummy. - a pumpikin head guy? - that makes six minifigs instead of five, but i didnt know which one was least likely. Probably this one, since what else can the mold be used for other than a headless horseman, which is even less likely to be duplicated than the swamp creature. A calaveras / day of the dead person as suggested above seems too close to the skeleton boy, but I would take one, no problem. Im pretty sure Ill be wrong on most counts, and we will get some non-scary fig like the cat girl, or even another zombie - maybe a space zombie, to balance the pirate zombie from the past and the other two zombies from the present? One thing that struck me is that the classic monsters here and in the Scooby Doo sets actually do complement each other: a vampire, mummy and swamp creature in the Scooby sets, and a withc, a werewolf a mad scientist and a Frankenstein monster in the CMF series. There is a zombie in the Scooby lin as well as multiples in the CM series, but those are meant are meant to be army built anyway. Quote

They could use the pumpkin head for a creepy scarecrow. I would seriously love a classic Bride of Frankenstein. I don't think a swamp monster's likely, but a female mummy could reuse the Egyptian Queen hairpiece. Quote

telaruhn Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 True, although it's perfect for an Avengers Tigra MOC. Especially if you swap to the Fire Elf's hair from Elves. Also true! The arms and tail might look nice for Tygra from Thundercats, too (though he is male). The pants and arms might look cool as actual clothing pieces, as well (because who doesn't want a pair of tiger-print pants?). To top it off, the Day-of-the-Dead Guy should have an acoustic guitar, a bugle, or some other instrument as an accessory. Get four of them together and you're ready to celebrate with your own undead mariachi band! Speaking of which, I'm really wanting a new accessory mold. The electric guitar from S12 and the shield, handsaw, and cobra from S13 are all amazing, but I'm still craving more! And if the first Simpsons Series was indicative of new accessory molds, then I have low expectations for Simpsons 2. Nothing that has been revealed for this series indicates a new accessory either, but I'm hoping there's at least one. In the context of Halloween monsters, I'm not sure what would warrant a new mold... Quote
Robert8 Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 (edited) But this is a Halloween series and Día de los Muertos is celebrated on November 1st. It's a different thing (as far as I know) Besides, I see you are think too straight about the 5 missing minifigures: Of course it would be nice to get Mothman, Igor, Headless Horseman, Monster Bride, a Classic Ghost, the Mutant, the Invisible Man or the Grim Reaper, but look at the minifigures of this series: a rocker monster.... ??? a zombie pirate...??? Probably the other 5 minifigures will be as dumb as those. Something like a Grandma Mummy, Skater Vampire or Jogger Witch Edited February 17, 2015 by Robert8 Quote
Iria Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Oh, wow! That's subtle, I heard someone on Brickset say she had hair printing. but I didn't see it even then. I love it. Although why is a vampire so spider-themed? Did her coffin stay in the attic for too long? Perhaps she's not a vampire but black-widow spider in human/minifig form . Either way she looks pretty cool. Quote
legofanatic12 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 (edited) How about a Vampire Hunter with a crossbow? Noticed that not all Vampire Hunters are good as Dr. Rathbone from MF, but sometimes they are bad. Could be referenced to Rookery from The Little Vampire. Perhaps she's not a vampire but black-widow spider in human/minifig form . Either way she looks pretty cool. How could be not a lady vampire, she has fangs. The spider thing is just her dress design or pattern. But this is a Halloween series and Día de los Muertos is celebrated on November 1st. Maybe a calaveras / day of the dead person could be in the regular series, but it considered as a costumed character. Edited February 17, 2015 by legofanatic12 Quote

SMC Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 - a ghost, with the head of the skeleton boy (I know kabel and some others think the head could belong to the skeleton boy, but it just doesnt look skeletony to me) I agree with this a ghost is odds on and that could well be the head. Quote
MAB Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Dislike: Zombie Businessman, Zombie Cheerleader, Zombie Pirate: Having more varieties of zombie certainly makes for a more realistic apocalypse than an army of clones, but did they all have to be mashups with previously existing character concepts? It's funny. That is exactly why I LIKE these ones. You can have the pirate captain change into a zombie pirate, the lumberjack change into a werewolf, etc. Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Spiders have fangs too. Just pointing that out. It's pretty clear that she's a vampire. A spider lady would have some pretty freaky mandibles. But she does have a lovely theme. I hope her accessory isn't just the same old spider we get in every haunted/dilapidated building set, though. Quote
legofanatic12 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Maybe the Vampire Lady will have a spider accessory just like the S2 Vampire with a bat. Quote
telaruhn Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I'm hoping the Vampire Lady would get a Scientist vial in trans-red, but it seems unlikely considering the Mad Scientist will be getting a pink one... Just noticed the printing on her hairpiece - I'm on the fence about it. On one hand, it's well done and adds to her character. On the other hand, I feel like it limits the part's usage. The spider motif is fine - if a bit overused. I may just mix her with the MF Vampire Lady (I prefer MF's dress, but the CMF's face) and see what happens. Quote
